Was the 22kw charger free? If not what was the price? Edit, i was too wuick to the draw. 0.39c isnt bad. Was that via a certsin card, or just tap and pay?
Interesting and positive story for newbies and sceptics, and a well constructed video. Sorry but 4 hours is too long for me on N roads, I usually manage cork in 2h40m on motorway as you did on the return journey. The consumption is good on the motorway return at 17kWh/100 which is nearly as good as a Kona or M3. 8% left is a big safety margin. The M7 has loads of backup CCS chargers in case the consumption had been higher than you’d expected (eg J14, Kill, Applegreen Rathcoole, etc). Such trips are now routine no problem just about any 3rd or 4th gen BEV, they can get anywhere from Dublin on a single charge at proper speeds. For same day return motorway trips 15mins CCS half way and on the return is usually enough while driver visits restroom and grabs a snack or coffee. Well done. A good positive story and video. FYI, I did fast forward a little to get to the essential information. M7 is so well covered now even if folks forgot to charge at home in Dublin before leaving they can do it on route no problem.
Im due to recive my Born (v.gray 58kw V3 e-boost)about December and me snd the wife are planning this exact journey end of jan early feb. Get the boat to dublin maybe stay a night in dublin and spend a few nights making our way the indirect route to the north then down the motoway back to the boat. well that's the plan do far. Lived an hour away form the boat for 20 years, but only ever been to dublin once working, i was there about 12h, so deen nothing. So me and the wife gonna spend about a week there, exploring some of your great roads. We have some great roads in north wales too. And some terrible ones (cough A55).
We have pretty good charging infrastructure in Ireland. Also the roads are quite good, however you will be frustrated driving through Dublin because roads are very busy, especially M50 motorway. When comes to charging I have used BMW charging card with subscription plan. Those prices I mentioned are from couple months ago and they went up. I would suggest to visit ESB charging website or get an app and check the current prices. I also use Monta app for Charing in some areas as they have quite competitive prices. I have recently done European trip with my BORN and I had no issues. I have covered over 7000 kilometres in 3 weeks. Enjoy your trip 😉
I do think that there a lots of options if you don't have the time to wait for AC charging, plenty of DC options on motorways , but if you are going to a work meeting and there's not enough available AC chargers you do need a backup plan. More AC chargers in car parks would be a great option.
Battery size is very useable in Ireland, its not a big country. Like you, I just changed from a 24Leaf to a 64Kona. I don't know myself anymore without having to plan the trips km by km. Anywhere from 50kWh to 80kWh is plenty in Ireland in my opinion on average. Depends on your preference of course too. Class video, would love more vlog type videos!😊
I can’t say for sure. I have not used any heating or cooling during this trip but I believe is doable in bad conditions with bigger battery. I will perform another test in bad conditions too.
If you used that route and speed with an ICE vehicle. It would also use 25% less fuel than motorway. But well done on video, nice production. A bit long maybe?
@skerriesrockart I’m not pushing anything. I’m simply proving with my video that EV’s are doing their job almost as good as ICE vehicles. What I see instead is you talking nonsense without any evidence to prove it. Anyway thanks for visiting my channel.

Great Video and we need more of this to counteract the FUD from certain press and "social media tiktok" people (you know who you are :)
It’s time to debunk those myths 😀

@@EP-mc5hx I agree with you 100%
You mean people telling the truth?
@@skerriesrockart Yes ,Only true EV drivers like the OP can do this surely?

I agree with you. More videos are coming soon! Thank you🙂
Well done, good video that helps to dismiss all the lies about EVs.
Thanks.
Great video but also great conditions.
Do you think the 77kwh would do this comfortably in bad weather

@@Bodzio1982 you would have surely made it down Dublin to cork with air con

There no time limit on those esb chargers? Thought there was now
I think there is limit of 240 minutes per session. I was charging less than that.
@@EVnation24 cheers will keep that in mind. I've only used public chargers for ionity and easy go and they were an hour I think
