  • For adults, the CDC recommends at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and two, or more, days of muscle training per week. However, not everyone meets those standards. This is what happens to your body when you go from regularly exercise to none at all.

    Think that a game is your muscles,
    You install a game it takes some time,
    You uninstall a game it happens within a few seconds.

    Guys, this is true. I worked out for 4 months and was actually impressed by how fit and muscular I looked. I stopped for a week and it all came down. I'm starting again to gain it back. I can't stand it. I felt so sad knowing that I had lost something that I worked so hard for, in just a week. It all happened beacuse I was bombarded with exams though. So I had no choice. But I'm gaining it back. But seriously, don't let it go. It'll be hard for you afterwards. And you'll feel regret. Not a lot, but you will feel some regret.

    I guess that sometimes you just need a rest... It's more important what you do in between your daily trainings... I always thought I was eating enough and was disappointed because my weight stagnated. Then I got my first diet plan created on Dietarize. I realised that my previous food intake was way below my needs, although I thought I'm good. At the beginning it was hard to eat 3300 kcal in a day, but I got used to it. I started noticing real gains and it felt amazing. I wish I'd understood the importance of diet earlier.

I am a powerlifter your body and CNS NEEDS recovery. It takes literally months to actually lose muscle mass and strength and even then if you take 6-8 months off you can get it back in just a few months of training it's called muscle memory.

    It's important to point out that taking breaks from your regimen, is totally acceptable. Rest is just as important to the process as putting in the work itself. Your body uses those days off to recover and help repair your damaged tissue; this process is the baseline for muscle growth. A 3 to 5 day break could work wonders, especially if you've ran into a plateau.
    P.s. I realized that I didn't point out that Breaks and Rest Days are in different categories. Rest Days are a part of your regimen, while a full-on Break is a break from that regimen.

      FbII Justice no when you workout and then rest your body increase the regeneration cells to make your body stronger than before
      and you gain more muscles mass.
      That's why it's higly recommended to eat well to train hard and to sleep well.
      If you can take a nap after your trainning, then do , it will help to make your muscles stronger and bigger.

      But of course, the muscle you build with exercise is what keeps your calorie demand higher, so you still need both in the long run.

If I missed a day or two it wasn’t too bad but I could feel that it was a bit more difficult. Now during school I’ve lost that momentum but obviously starting back up is always the hardest part. It’ll totally be worth it in the long run though.

    I'VE GONE THROUGH THIS, as long as you don't go overboard, it's FINE! Your body adapts to your environment. It doesn't need to maintain all those big muscle cells and everything else because your body is not actively using them.
    When you start exercising again they come back eventually, so chill. It's not the end of the world if another part of your life suddenly becomes a priority and you don't become a star athlete.
    Just make sure to manage your stress while your off.
    The scare that this video makes for people is unreal.

      Thank you for stating what we saw in the video.... Also, only people with very high metabolisms (genetically received) are going to get away with this without gaining serious fat tissue.
      I was an athlete my entire life with an outstanding metabolism until college where I lost the time to exercise like I wanted to. Eventually I wasn't able to exercise at all due to a back injury (which I got from trying to workout after not exercising for a long time, thus being another issue this video didn't mention). My metabolism plummeted and my muscles wore down to where I was almost 40% body fat after 5 years. I started at less than 10% body fat when I was in sports as a teenager...

      Genius Idiot I don't know what your talking about, but steroids are used to assist in building muscle mass and minimize recovery time. So yes in some ways it is some magic muscle drug. Sure you still have to put in the work to achieve the results but a natural bodybuilder would have to spend a lot more years and have favorable genetics to achieve what many steroids bodybuilders can do in a much shorter time.

      Mae Quien try protein shakes

    • @Skylinear
      @Skylinear 6 лет назад +15

      Mae Quien You're probably not eating enough as you think, try tracking your calories for a week through an app such as myfitnesspal to see if you are eating above maintenance levels for your weight, you need to be at a caloric surplus with high protein to gain muscle, do mostly compound lifts in the gym sticking to the basics such as squats, deadlifts, bench press, and military press. Lastly put it all together with a good training protocol and tracking your diet, get on a well known strength program such as starting strength or 5x5 which i recommend if you're a beginner, lastly love the progress, it takes hard work and dedication to build muscle, it is certainly not an easy task but stick to it and if you love it enough you can achieve a decent physique overtime, but stick to the program and high calorie doet for at least a year to see actual progress, i guarantee you will build muscle if you follow all these steps but if all this does not work it's time for you to find a coach to guide you through the same things i just mentioned which can be expensive. Good luck on your fitness journey.

    I used to be a fitness junky and pushed myself really hard. I remember getting my last PR which was 270 pounds for legs.
    9-10 months ago I developed anxiety and went through a depressive episode then developing severe hypochondria (health anxiety) I was too scared to get out of bed in fear if a heart attack or someone trying to kill if I go outside. Im still recovering from that traumatic experience my mind did to me. I went from 112 pounds with the gorgeous Instagram body to 157 pounds. :(

    I’ve been doing push ups for almost a year. I remember I took anti depressants and lost all motivation and stopped doing push ups, running, walking or riding my bike. I felt like I lost everything. My energy levels were low, my legs felt heavy, my upper body got weak, I got bloated, but then I went back to it because I didn’t want to feel sad anymore. But now after 7 months of push ups with no rest days I got a mild muscle strain on one of my back tendons and got so frustrated so I moved on to wall push ups and then after wall push ups a got mild nerve pinch and I’m at rest again. This is so frustrating for me because I like feeling good and looking good and I’m afraid the pains will not go away and I will lose a lot of mental and physical progress. I literally cried and stressed 4 days straight about this. I’m so stressed out and anxious of what’s going to happen, idk what to do anymore 😭.

    I take one week off from lifting and the next week I come back more stronger and more defined after giving my body the rest it needs. It really depends on various factors.

    • @2qood4lyfe
      @2qood4lyfe 6 лет назад +2

      BluebearChu same, i'm a "hard gainer" and i've found it easier to gain weight/muscle mass by going ham 1 week and resting about 3-4 days but intense eating

    • @Daquan0394
      @Daquan0394 6 лет назад +1

    • @cocamila
      @cocamila 6 лет назад

      daquan94 make sure you keep your diet the same! In cases where I was away from gym for a week, in instance where I didn't track my macros for a week I came back much weaker although I made sure to roughly calculate my calories intake to be around my tdee but where I kept my diet same and tracked my macros and kept it at my tdee I came back much stronger!

      Indigo Child I'm a female on lean bulk (+around 200) after a year long cut and I'm progressing up but I've yet to notice to me visible muscle gain although people around me had said my glutes were noticeably more bigger so I'm sure if others are noticing then I must be doing it right. It's so sad how muscle gains takes time! It's probably much easier to lose fat than u can gain muscle in same given period. Some people are so lucky to have good genes that make them able to gain muscle easier but things works differently for everyone! Good luck in your bulk journey!!

    • @daemon7013
      @daemon7013 6 лет назад +2

      BluebearChu bulking is bullshit, and so are body types, take a look at Athlean X's vids. Yes genes determine muscle shape, and the body SHAPE, but metabolism can be made faster or slower through exorcise and habits. Don't let genes ever be a reason to discourage yourself from pumping iron. Oh and muscle size doesn't equal muscle strength,

      Black Kids that's not true, lol I'm a distance runner and track and I run the pacer better than the sprinters in my class.. sprint training just trains you to go fast over a short distance.. distance training trains you to pace yourself over a longer distance. So for the pacer distance training would work best..

    Just eat the right things and exercise regularly for at least 5 days a week (if it's moderate-intensity workouts) and if Ye feel like Ye wanna skip a day of your workout then at least take care of your nutrition cuz it's more important. But still work out.
    Have a nice day😊
