Don't feel bad for not listening sooner. Tool will find your heart when the time is right. I've listened to Tool since like 1995 , and I always liked them...even saw them live in 98 at Ozzfest...but only within the past year or so have I truly been going down the rabbit hole. Saw them live again just last month...what a mind blowing experience to be in the presence of 4 such phenomenally talented artists and to feel the massive waves of ecstatic energy from the other 10k or so people that were there spiraling out with me! Their music makes you FEEL and THINK. Lose yourself between the sound...

I happened to stumble across your reaction of this notorious Tool song. When they say hi. They're actually talking about the judicial system and how the government treats us in court. It has a lot more meaning but that's the basis of the song. Also it's a group. Glad you enjoyed the song. Tool grabs you and pulls down the rabbit hole. I have been a fan since 1992.
I had heard TOOL a lot in my life. As a musician I always respected the craft, but in 2001 my guitar play won tickets on the radio. I went that night and my perspective on music changed forever. It literally changed my entire outlook on music. They are in my top 5 faves but number 1 influence musically. I'm always looking for something different, but TOOL is practically it's own genre at this point. Much Love Bro, great video. Hope all is well.

It’s a long and beautiful/life changing journey. 4 geniuses in the zone for 3 decades. The music and the lyrics separately are amazing. But together is a mind altering experience. Saw them live for the first time in ‘93 in New Orleans. Haven’t left my playlist or mixed cd’s list since.
Very entertaining reaction. Reminds me of 11 year old me losing my shit to heavy metal (Iron Maiden) for the first time, years later in my late teens I discover Tool and suddenly music changed all over again.

My Tool addiction started back in 93 - 94 when Sober came out. Now when I get a song stuck in my head that I don't really like, I play AEnema/Armageddon song from my memory bank.

Just stumbled across you and have been thoroughly entertained watching you discover Tool. Dude just do yourself a favor and listen to each album fully start at beginning and you will be blown away. I’ve seen them twice and have been a fan since I was 10 (older brother was a fan). But the main song to check out especially these days is “Hush” off of Opiate
In 1987 Maynard James Keenan released a song called "Burn About Out", with his band Keenan's Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty.
By 1993 it was called Sober. It appeared on Tool's second official release, but their first full-length album.
In 2020, Tool won a Grammy for a sixteen-minute song called 7empest.
They won Grammys for Aenima and Schism also.

"Is this a group or one person?" This is a full on group. Every member writes their own part. They break away and come back together. They write a masterpiece of a score and only then does Maynard come in and put lyrics to it. It is full on collaboration of 4 members who are all masters of their craft. It is a prefect storm of a group the likes of which we may never see again.

Subbed! Tool is a fun band to me. Probably not how most Tool fans would describe them lmaooo, but idk man, like, they _sound_ like they're enjoying it. And, like, even ignoring the message and lyrics behind their songs (some I think are just about the vibes, like this one, not a bad thing btw), they sound great lmaooo
Lateralus is another great song (the whole album too lmaooo), and the meaning behind it is great. To me, it's about trying to enjoy life, and explore, having new experiences, not overthinking things, ya know? That's my recommendation 🥸👍I'd say Reflection but that one is a more mellow experience, but if you're down for that, that one too lmaoo.

You're correct...but you definitely need to include the sound recording engineers as part of that massive sound. Tool's albums are always expertly recorded and engineered.
