with a little bit of pulling it was out by dusk

When this song came out I was 3-4 years old, and my dad would sing this song to me to help me sleep when i couldn't. It worked every time without fail. He did that with me for many years. My father now passed away less than a month ago, and i turn 15 in 3 days. This song means so much to me, and has always and forever will make me smile :)
So glad you have this memory, so sorry for your loss. I lost my father a few days after my 9th birthday.

Watching Rabbit here made me think what an amazing signer she would be if she learned ASL. Half the language is the expressions you make, and a fair portion of storytelling in ASL involves miming. 😊

Jax Dee that's not a mistake. Bunny has always been female, she was assigned male and received male pronouns. From the point of transition prefered pronouns are used retrospectively.

with a little practice and excersizes most guys can hit both ranges...the hard part is transitioning between both smoothly...im a low baritone and on good days I can sing the alto and sometimes soprano parts of songs but the transitions are the hardest part trying to do them quickly and smoothly

So fun story, there was a real guy named Albert Alexander from England, But he was a constable, and was the first person to ever receive penicillin to treat an infection in 1941. He was like an Astronaut for Antibiotics!
Also Rabbit had WAY too much sugar when they filmed this.
I love that even though Rabbit's had a gender change you can still watch their old videos and tell she's still the exact same character she used to be :]

There's actually a lot of evidence that Albert is a horrible sailor. First he only woke up when the pirates had already bombarded and immobilized his ship, boarded them, reached his captain and then began to drown him. Then he's such a horrible navigator that he sailed directly into a six or seven hundred foot tall walrus, somehow unable to notice and consequently dodge the enormous animal. Then in the end he sailed into a thunderstorm in waters known to house giant octopi.
lol That would explain why literally everyone Albert ever met assumed he would die at sea.
And that's why Rex Marksley would certainly be the one to win in a fight between the two of them.
He only did all of that for the excuse to fight the aforementioned Pirates, Godzilla-Walrus and Kraken.

I used to sing this to my nephew as a lullaby, but changed the chorus to "Caleb Alexander~" (his name), and though he's much older now, I still sometimes say his name like that to get him to smile. Lot of good memories to this song.

I have a 10 year old Blue and Gold macaw and this is her favorite song. It will stop a bird hissy fit cold so she can sing along with it. ( badly....she sings it vary badly)

Harry Allen It's a pun on letters and the term 'sea-legs'. Rabbit is suggesting that Jon needs to trade in his 'B' legs and upgrade to 'C' legs if he wants to fight skeleton pirates on the back of killer whales.

I've always been spectacularly fascinated by this story. I wrote fan fics (like a complete nerd) of Albert and his many adventures. I ended up drawing a few sketches of him, and scenes from this song. Thanks for giving me something to marvel at SPG!

Ive got a voyage in 8 weeks. I know this is weird to bring up but having been in a wild life, not to the standard of Albert.
Well, not yet.
Ever since i was a wee boy i wanted to be a pirate. So Ive ventured this world, next country is Brazil! But this song gives me such peace.
As an orphan growing up and reading treasure island and the oddssey and later Moby Dick. Just wanting to sail because without a family the sea has been my family for a long time and she is a leviathan. But i always find myself returning here before a voyage...

This group is the prized jewel. They hit every major point in music that makes it art. Passion and emotion especially. They have an energy for every performance that can't be matched, whether sweet and melodic or humorous and energetic. The moment i found these guys i just couldnt get enough.
