Half-up hairstyles like this one are very popular right now. This one happens to use a regular 3-strand braid, a fishtail braid, and a hair bow. Inspiration for this braid came from my friend @n.stark on Instagram. I actually saw her style photo in a magazine and fell in love with it!

This hairstyle can be dressed up or down, depending on the event you are attending, and it does hold up fairly well if you are planning to be active.

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 ponytail holder, 2 small hair elastics, 4-6 small bobby pins, spray wax and/or hairspray {if desired}.

You could do any of these hairstyles on thin/fine hair. You would might have to adapt them certain ways perhaps using texturising products in your roots and through your ends, back combing certain sections and lastly do more pancaking of the braid than what she did.
+Paiten grace It'll never look as good though because it wasn't designed for that hair type. Trust me, I've tried.
+Sam Hackenson That would be the best way to prep your hair if you watch any tips for fine/thine hair videos it would say the same things. I have thin thin hair myself after I saw the video I ended up wearing this hairstyle I teased a smidgen at my roots and bobby pinned after to keep it up, I didn't do the bow because I personally don't like them so I just wrapped a section a round it and for the braid I back combed the section with my fingers did it and had the ends in a Chignon
