You've all loved our Rope Twisted Bun from a few months back { • Rope-Twisted Pinwheel ... }, so we thought it would be fun to show you another of our adorable bun hairstyles!
This one is called a Pancaked Bun of Braids! This updo uses a bun maker over a ponytail, and is exactly what the name states... a bun full of pancaked braids!
There is a trick to getting this bun just right, and in the video I show you several tips on how to do this.

Thanks for all your fantastic hair ideas!!!! My daughter started Kindergarten today and this is the style she chose for her first day. It came out beautiful! (I tried to put a pic of it here but it won't let me) She has an entire week of braids picked out from your site! I am not a girly mom so this is exactly what I needed! I have the talent, I just don't have the creativity :)
My sister has me do her hair a lot. I did it for prom, ball (senior prom), and I do it almost every Sunday for church. I just wanted to thank you for giving me the ideas and hairstyles to do on her! Love you guys :-)

I did my daughters hair this way for a wedding. (They were flower girls, ages 10 & 7) I have to say, my daughters hair were the fanciest out of everyone in the bridal party! Including the bride! They loved it, I loved it, and it wasn't that difficult. Thank you! =)

This hairstyle is amazing I did it on my long black hair and it looked really nice only problem was when I was taking the braid out my hair got in a knot and it took forever to get my hair back to it being straight and knot free.

I love this updo!! Im goin tk a wedding in one week and would love to do this style but it takes ages to do on myself and no one in my family is any good with hair! (They dont watch ur videos no matter what i say!!) I finally tried the rope-twisted pinwheel bun and this #bunofbraids but itlooks horrid because i have loads of flyaways-all my hair is a different length and its not even layered!! Im always running through hedges and climbing trees so it breaks and i hate it!! The only way I can only style my hair perfectly is wet :( Does this style look good wet or not?? Please Please Please help!!

This is gorgeous and one of the first times I've ever seen pancaking look good. I tend to think pancaking makes it look messier, and I don't like it. But this time, it looked good.

Yes it work getting it off. But not as bad as the twist version.. dooooon't do that one if you have curly or wavy hair. It will be a rat nest.

WEARING COSMETICS DOES NOT MAKE ONE SPOILED. Although she does not in fact apply mascara, if she does decide to wear it one day, that's her business. Furthermore, people who are on video or television are always given a touch up, even male actors use make up.

Ah - I found the original video I used to make our braided bun. I gotta try it again and put the last one inside the bun instead of wrapping it around the base of the bun like I have been. Hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks for the ideas!

I did one on my daughter but we did finish tail braid instead of a normal plait. It looked even more like a rope, with a little bit of messy element to it, ( my daughter has a lot of broken hair, hence the messy look ). Needless to say we were both happy
