This week's Woven Updo hairstyle tutorial doesn't use a new braid technique, as basket weaves like this have existed in hair for centuries. I was also inspired by Hairstyles68 on Facebook. We did place our own variation into it by rolling the braid up into a super cute updo.

There are countless combinations you can do with the base braid, too. This hairstyle can be worn for pretty much any occasion (except for active sports), and dressed either up or down, depending on your preference.
I really loved how this Woven Updo turned out, and it looks great from all angles! I can see this being great for Prom, Homecoming, weddings, work, or for flower girls, etc.

Can this be done by myself? I love this braid but sometimes diy braids are difficult to pull off. Any tips to doing it on my own head?

messy buns are damaging your hair....split ends etc. no good if you want to have long and pristine hair.

you have to have strong arms because you arms start to hurt after a while

Try doing it on the side and wearing as a side braid instead of the back of your head.
+Sarmi Nathan Yes. If you can do a four strand braid you can do this. It's a combo of weaving, fishtailing and a four strand.
