- In this video we do a sit down (updated) discussion of the DUO pixels available from YPS. This is an update from our last sit down because, as it turns out, some bad hardware led us to some previous assumptions.
Around the half way mark we head into the shop to put the lights to the test!
You just got a new subscriber. Wasn't in the market for props, this year, but I have checked your store out. Very nice. Good luck to you!
Thank you!
Appreciate the in depth content to teach about the lights and connectors. Please make more videos sharing your knowledge. Subbed.
Love your great information. Need to work on sound leveling in your videos. Your intro blows me out of the room, but I have to crank the volume to hear you.
thank you for the input. I am using a different video editor now and have more control over varying clip audio levels.
I just bought a bunch of these Duo pixels. I’m nervous about getting them working. I hope I have the correct adapters. Wish these things came with instructions! Thanks for posting this video. Gives me somewhere to start.
Let us know! They are great pixels! I've heard a couple murmurs about the adapters, but otherwise good comments!
Thank you very much for this video. Could you post what you found to be the correct wiring assignment for each pin for the 4-pin connector, please?
Not sure how we would get that into RUclips comments as it's a hand drawn image. Reach out to us and I can get that to you - charleesprops@gmail.com
Did you do any measurements of the power / amps required for the Duo pixels? The site says they are approx 1/3 of a standard WS2811. While you do need to do the power injection I'm wondering if overall the Duo uses less power.
Unfortunately I don't have capacity to easily read the amperage draw. While there may be truth that they require less power as being native 12v - you need to remember that they will act like 5v in the sense they will need power balancing or shorter extensions to combat voltage drop. Further the number of pixels per port isn't really upped either since the limitation is the FPS, not the power.
please work on your audio, very hard to hear
