      Hey there, Alex! They are super light weight and take up almost no storage space. So, all in all, a neat prop.

      @@ChristmasOnCrestline, how would you mount them? I live in a very windy area. My only concern would be that.

      Nope. It's all the same, the difference it the background was further away so the blur effect was allowed to function like it is supposed to. Thanks though, Braydon!

    When I used to do ac lights and needed to cover bulbs, I would just use heat shrink tubing. I used whatever size and length that just covered the bulb and it worked perfect. And it didn’t unravel from the adhesive giving out/ dry rotting on the tape

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад +1

      Great tip, Larry! On some props, I'll custom make the strings and just cut off the string where I no longer need the length and heat shrink the plug back on.

    Many or the specialty Christmas supply stores have commercial grade mini's in 70 counts.

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад

      They do indeed. The 35ct and 70ct boxes I saw last season were $25 a box. This year, so far, they are at the same price point. Seems like thouse would be a good garage sale pick up.

    @brendatroche5762 Год назад +2

    If you just take out the unneeded bulbs, would the string not work? Just seems like so much work to tape and retape. What about taping them up in the middle in line on the back? Does it ruin the look?

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад +1

      Hey there, Brenda! It depends on the string. The commercial grade would. Incandescents would not. Some LEDs may but it depends upon how they are made. They do make 70 ct strings but they are 5x more expensive than the 100ct strings of Christmas lights.

    what thickness of coroplast would you recommend for outdoor use?

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline

      Great question, Thom. Mine are 1/2 inch thick and due just fine. I have them zip tied to vertical 2x4s which are connected to the home.

    What if you skipped holes so you can attach the ones coming back down the “y” of snowflake.

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад

      I do something similar, Michael. I made 16 of these this season and became fairly proficient at the scheme. I skipped several but came back to them immediately thereafter. I bit like hopscotch. Two steps forward, one step back. That seemed to allow me to complete the pattern without stretching the line.

  • @gaetanoschristmaschannel

    Do the dome style mini lights fit in those holes?

  • @CodenameHawk1225
    @CodenameHawk1225 Год назад +1

    Quick question: Do all of their pre-cuts use mini lights, or just some? I tried asking them, but they haven't answered me.

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately I and several others have that same experience with them this year, Alex. But to answer your question, they do 90% pixel cutouts and only a handful of minis.

  • @dramfan7749
    @dramfan7749 Год назад +1

    That does seem unusual for the design to have 70 bulbs. I wonder if they sell lights that fit this molding. If not, why not just incorporate a 100ct into the thing. Either way, this was a really neat video. Cheers.

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  Год назад

      My thing is that the 100ct is the most widely available and the most popular. Would just be helpful to not have to buy a special count. Thanks, DF.

    Why not just cut the wire to discard un needed lights?
    I been doing rhat for years never had no problem
    Makes your card shorter but I say that's what extension cords are for lol
    Love the show my man I go nuts with the lights myself

    • @ChristmasOnCrestline
      @ChristmasOnCrestline  8 месяцев назад

      Oh, you can absolutely do that, Jason. Cut them and reattach the female end or seal them. I ended up using light caps to hide the lights rather than tape them. Thanks so much for the kind words!
