  • While pushing pixels into coroplast props may seem simple, you need to do it correctly or else you'll be re-doing it when you set up your display!
In this video, I'll show you how to find the correct wiring layout, and how to push those pixels!

This is a nice video for us string show fellas to see how you all build your props. We'll be incorporating pixels into our show in 2020, if not switching over completely, so thank you for the video.

I liked the video, but for me I’ll just cut off the two pixels and never have to worry about it again in xlights or my controller. I do like the forward thinking about redundancy and repair methods because nothing works 100% of the time.

I have been working on some singing Christmas Trees. And I have gotten 2 songs ready to go and I wanted to add 2 snowflakes to the display. I did the drop down and plopped them into the display. When I hit play, I lost all the animation I had on my trees. While poking around, I saw that when I added the flakes, xLights added them to the display and the Start Channels / End Channel and Ctrl Conn numbers were no longer sequential. It was like the snowflakes were added geographically not added at the end of the display. Yes, I am new at this and know that it is user error, but was hoping that you can tell me how I have messed up.

Can you explain in more detail how you add the null pixels in xlights? I am just starting out and I can't work out how to specify which left over pixels on which props are the null pixels. I'm like you, less cutting and soldering the better.

The simplest way to do it that I have found is this (and there are multiple ways to "slice the cake").
Go into xLights and make a simple "Line" with the amount of null pixels you desire. For this prop, that's 2! Then, assign that in your Layout to your controller after the prop (in this case, the Chromaflake). It's like there's a prop there, but you drag it to the bottom of your layout and don't ever put it in a group or assign anything to it and it won't light up!
      Thanks!

Can you make a video showing how to program traditional Christmas lights to music using vixen?

What direction do you orient the flutes in the Coro? Do I want to make them up and down, diagonal, or left to right? We are in a heavy winter rain and snow area in Ohio and don't want the flutes to fill with water, then freeze, swell up, and crack.

Where did you get a string of 50 with 4 inch light to light? all I can find are at most 2.75 inch.

I went over to the Boscoyo website and it looks like you have the 3 Prong Chromaflake. Is it the "3 Prong" or the "3 Prong Fancy"? the website doesn't explain what the difference between to two are.

Yes, but you do need to add them to the model in xlights if you are plugging any props in off the output of this one.
