    Funny, I saw an add for "Jellyfish Lighting" during this video. They charge something around $20 per foot for their system. What we do in this video costs less than $5 a foot.
    If you want to install Permanent "Christmas" lights (RGB LEDs) on your house but you don't want to spend a ton of money, then PermaTrack, Pixels, and WLED are the way to go!

    Outstanding video! By far the best DIY I've seen for RGB lights. We won our neighborhood Christmas light contest this year after coming in second last year. We've been thinking about going with roof lighting but the professional install cost is prohibitive and I'm not keen on falling off! But after seeing this and going with a boom lift, I can definitely make it happen. Once all the out of stock components are in, I'll prep for a spring install to get ready for next year. Keep up the great work!!

    I got my J-channel and drilled and installed, I just tried to push my pixels through my holes and with bare fingers plus this 20° temperature up in Suncrest/Draper, UT made it dang near impossible. I guess I'll be ordering some pixel pushers and getting these permanent lights up after Christmas. Love your videos!

    I think I would cut my light strings to 30 pixels, I know it would be more work but easier to replace if needed. I really like the look of these. You are a genius DRZZs!!!

    • @billfoster6809
      @billfoster6809 2 года назад

      They come as strings of 50. So you cut it to 30, now you have 20 left to splice in another 10 to make 30. Hmmm that left 40 on the next string. Cut off 10 more so we have 30... Waste of time. Leave them at 50.

    • @philkingmke

      I think you guys are missing the fact that these pixels are all individually addressable. Meaning, you can cut it anywhere you want to, depending on the length you need. That's the beauty of it. So if you have a run of 18 on one side of the eave and 22 on the other and a jump of 10 above the door (or wherever), then youd still get the 50 pixels but you'd just cut them after each run and make a jumper between the ends on the end of the one run and the start of the next run.

    What type of screws are you using?
    The 2nd cord is to power lights but the controller will be at the opposite end? Why didn't you run the wled from the same location? I wish you'd shown how you ran the data wire. Did you have to fish it through the channels, run it along the outside of the channel or take the channels off enough to insert the data wire? What did you do with the wires when going from one location with lights, then over an area/space that's unlit, to the next area/space with lights (like jumping from one gabled window to the next)? Are they left exposed, tucked out of sight or in a wire channel? Also would it have been possible to run the data wire in the channel at the same time you were using the light strings?

      There are some people willing to do it. Where do you live? Come to discord or Facebook and see if there’s someone in your area willing to come help you install.
