I gave up on c9’s a few years ago when I got tired of the electric bill. I tried box box led c9s and was soo disappointed. I gave up. I just realized I can buy smd c9 bulbs and put them in the old incandescent string. Now you just showed me I can customize my string lengths. This is a game changer and I’m back in the game. Thank you so much.

If using a 15 Amp 120v circuit, which is very common in the US, you can run a bunch of c9 led lights before ever hitting the limits of that circuit. Calculating at only 80% load, for safety, you could theoretically use about 1,900 bulbs and still be safe.

Hey Jon. To be frank, I wouldn’t. In all our years doing lights, we have only wrapped one chimney. It looked ok but it took away from all the clean lines of the house itself. We did it with minis so it was an obvious change of pattern. You could do it with hot glue and c9 bulbs but you would have to go back on the roof 3 or 4 times during the season to glue a few bulbs back up.
