      If LeBron got thrown in there, he would be beaten up badly every game and the refs won’t care cause they were racist, the fans would hate him, he wouldn’t be able to dunk or do most dribble moves or euro steps, and the league would make rules against him just like they did with Wilth. Now everyone is too scared to contest his dunks or play physical, and even if they did, the refs and the league would be biased and let Leflop go away with fouls. IMO, the league is damn soft now.

    • @Johnkoth
      @Johnkoth Год назад +7

      No you would not. Scoring was very hard to do back then.
      Crossover dribble was illegal, no 3pt shot, the basketball had stitches and bounced unpredictably when bounced fast. The defenders could legally fill up the lane with players.
      You would have no room for a layup and would have to settle for a jumper 2pter.
      Also there was no shotclock and if you score to much they would pass the ball around for minutes and not let your time get it.
      The games avg 60PPG per team. If you score alot they will triple you and not allow you get open much. You would average under 10 PPG.
      They would beat the crap out of you with elbows, punches and pushing you around.

      @@4Scoot5 basically any era before the 80s, the 80s had some physical stuff half of the decade, the other half not so much. Current decade and 2010s was the worst. 90s and early 2000s were rough too though. Just spacing of the the 3pt line cleans up the game a bit. I would say 30s and 40s because of ridiculous strict ass rules like one dribble or no dribble movement allowed and the lane was a whopping 6 feet instead of the 16 feet which is the current length not adding the 3pt line since the corner 3s to the rim go about 22 feet. In the 50s and 60s they added it to like 12 feet but still no 3 pt line plus the NBA was already considered the best league in pro basketball by then basically so the competition was even fiercer than the 30s and 40s. Jerry West broke his nose like 5 times in that span of the decade of the 60s not including other injuries like broken hand, cut eye, hamstring, sprained ankle, injured knees, etc. Keep in mind with the resources of medicine and treatment of the 60s. These injuries took longer to heal and equipment was absolute garbage to use for healing. Like masks and casts for example. People be saying that they would dominate in that era lmao, try playing with dribble restriction and movement, no 3pt line, on a 6ft lane. You gonna regret touching a basketball.

    Although it appears they are taking it too seriously, I can guarantee turnovers occur a whole lot less frequently. Catching the ball one handed on a post-up, although technically easy, would no doubt be more safer caught with two hands. So I can see why they perfect their craft. You could say, the game became lazy in the pass catching department. Think about how many turnovers you see rolling off a guys hands.

      Schedules are also more relaxed today and transportation and training is so luxurious unlike back then. Players today have a trainer for every part of the game. The reason i bring this stuff up is player back then can handle injures because they were accustomed to the breakdown of the body. Your simply gonna be more intense when you playing 3 games in a row sometimes. Honestly though the other thing is, the league today has too many specialist athletes. Meaning guys that are dedicated to 1 sport and have dedicated to it their whole life. You got little 5 year old kids getting trained to play basketball with professional trainers with a pressure to possibly become a pro one day. Being a specialist isn't good cause research says you're are bound to get injured more and you are basically only working one muscle and motor. Where as a multi athlete has a chance of being less prone to injury cause of taking other sports and learning other muscles and functions. I feel like back then, players weren't being trained with professionals at 5 so they got to test all the sports and be good at them. Back in the day you had alot of players that played multiple sports. Today, many of them are specialist athletes. Obviously you have exceptions of multi athletes being injury prone but you can see that injuries occur more now than back then.
