what a great video guys. Thank you for letting us be part of Ohio Wood Burner. This entire industry is so fortunate to have great people like you to lead the way. Can't wait to see what the future holds.
Joe After watching you use the Eastonmade Axis I am convinced this is the right machine for your operation. You now appear to have a complete process for your style of processing. You should now be able to concentrate on building your business without having to make anymore major purchases for equipment! Congratulations and wish you much success on growing your business.
I actually laughed out loud at the opening scenes of you getting your chores done in fast motion. It kept me smiling all 16 minutes! And then again at the end with the Super Splitter at the curb.....baaahaahaa! The Eastonmade splitter looks like it’s going to fit into your operation just great. So much to look forward to in the future, congratulations.
OWB, your videos aren't only entertaining, they are also educational. Thank you for taking the time to make them. I heat with wood so I know the effort it takes. I truly enjoy watching your vids.
With my bad back I would love a machine like this just so I can keep heating my home. It's hard enough to buck up logs but then getting them into the splitter is another chore in and of itself that will put me down for a day or two. Maybe one day, hey a guy can dream right?
You sound like me. Sometimes bucking up a big log was a dread. All I could think of was having to pick up those heavy things and make them into splits. Joe
🤣you are such a character Joe! I couldn't hardly wait, for this next video!! How exciting for your new piece of equipment! If anyone deserves something like this, its you! If everyone had your work ethics, a people skills, what a wonderful world this would be!! Keep the great videos coming! Its a fun journey, and I'm greatful you share it!
I like to see that splitter tackle Elm and Osage orange . I remember my dad and I trying to split that stuff by hand . Yikes ! Those days are long gone ! Lol
It is a great thing to see an honest, hard working Man get a good break. To see a peace and contentment knowing that you now have relief from physical and mental exhaustion in knowing the right equipment now really gives Your business and honesty a real boost and a bright outlook for the future. 👏
I just wanted to say thank you for going into detail on different parts of your business. I am a farmer in Indiana so I am not completely dumb on different things such as making firewood and mechanical things however you go into great detail on marketing that I know about in grain marketing but not in this business and dealing with the general public. I just subscribed to this channel a couple weeks ago and I am still looking at the older videos you posted in the past year I am amazed at the depth you go into to explain things that would need to be known if I ever wanted to expand business and start to get into the firewood business as a off farming season side business as I hire and employ outside help and lay them off in the winter at the present time. In other words I would rather not lay them off but instead give them a year around paycheck if they want to work. You seems like a honest and sincere man and the kind of person I listen too. Thank you again.
Thanks for the nice post. I just try to show what I do and how I am carving out my own niche in the firewood industry. I do things quite differently than most and so far have been doing pretty good. I am glad you subscribed. We post every Sunday and Wednesday. Joe
@@ohiowoodburner thank you Joe. I pay close attention to what people say on you tube and how they say it and I retired from the US Navy after serving 26 years and I learned to pay attention to small things a person says. You come across as a very honest sincere person and please don't take what I say lightly because I am not a person to sweet talk anyone. I shoot from the hip all the time or I don't say anything at all but when I do speak I say it as I see it.
I think you said you pay in the area of $100 a cord from timber buyers and cutters in your area. The last time I purchased firewood was many years ago for my fireplaces and I paid $75 a cord for cut and processed firewood but I know everything has got much more expensive since then. I don't want you to answer this question if you are afraid of some wood cutter in your area using it against you but can you I ask what percent profit do you shoot for on your return after you count your labor and expense? If I get into the firewood cutting business it would be with all hired help except for myself. I have four employees who work about five months out of the year in the fields helping me plant and harvest the crops and then another three or four months hauling grain to the market (I own four semis and grain trailers for them to drive) so I would use them between planting season and harvest season processing firewood and delivering it and after harvest until I market my crops and then the time from after the crops are all hauled until we start the planting season again working in the firewood. Most of the land I own is tillable cropland (corn and soybeans) I have about 45 acres of woods and 60 acres of pasture land for my horses and 50 acres of hay field out of 2960 total acres which is also where my house, barn, tool sheds and workshop sets so that leaves me with just 2800 of crops that I plant and harvest. So I wouldn't want to cut off my timber and even if I did 45 acres wouldn't last me long, so I would buy the firewood just like you do. I have been watching your videos long enough to see you buy your Bobcat tractor. I own a bobcat skidloader but I didn't even know that Bobcat also made tractors. When you started looking I was hoping that you would buy a John Deere since I run all John Deere tractors lol. If that tractor is as good as their skidloaders you will be very happy with it. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be. Thank you Joe for responding to my first comment.

Congrats on your new machine and congrats on attracting the attention of a player in the industry like Eastonmade with your channel.
Looks the sky is the only limit now Joe! I have a 2 way tractor hydraulics powered splitter. You just need a machine for the big ones :) Andrew just did the thing you learned us in one of your previous videos (Don't sell firewood!!). He didn't sell you a splitter, he just saw your problem and solved it ;)
That’s great Joe! It sure is a great machine, sadly my father and I had tried to buy one of these last year and unfortunately kept getting delayed on shipment. I feel it was mainly due to the pandemic and partially from Andrew giving them out to channels for demonstrations, which is awesome but the worst part was when we asked for a refund for our deposit we were meet with very rude responses and long story short we were out 500$. Congratulations on the channel and great splitter, Best wishes Joe!
Seems like a bit of an issue when you give away log splitters to promote sales but you can't seem to supply the ones you've already sold. Easton made should perhaps spend less time making videos splitting firewood and spend more time building splitters. I was debating between easton and wolf ridge, I think I have my answer now.
Nice video! Andrew at Eastonmade is wonderful. Such a nice guy that created excellent products for our industry. I own the 12-22 splitter and hustle around splitting customers wood (mobile wood splitting). I wish you much luck. You will produce better products for your customers.
Thanks so much Kev. It is a great day indeed. I enjoyed your live stream with Andrew. Wow is he a super nice guy. It is an honor to be part of team Eastonmade!
Awesome Joe and congrats on 10k. That Eastonmade is definitely the right splitter for what you are doing. Your like me and want perfection in your firewood. Eye appeal is very important for bundles especially. 👍🏻👍🏻🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the note on the Gum. I've been working through a bunch of ash that I purchased and every now and then I'll get a log that is very white and stringy like that. I thought it might be Elm, but that gum looks very similar to what I've been splitting.
My favorite Online Wood Splitter! Precision splitting to any size you need. It should save your back. At the beginning of the video, I thought it was a Tree Stooges rerun😉 Now, with additional equipment, it might be time for a Part Time Employee 👍

Congratulations on getting the Axis! It's a great machine! I'm sure it will fit into and expand your business. You'll certainly be able to split up those big rounds and turn them into valuable firewood.

I believe that you need to # number your videos so that other followers can keep up with your progress and use them for you to guide people whenever they ask questions. Keep up the great work and you sure do know how to inspire others to get into the firewood business! God Bless my friend!
Huge congratulations on the new addition to the toybox! It's a spectacular machine and I'm sure it'll be of huge benefit to your production system, to say nothing of your back. I'll second the suggestion below to set it up under cover, it'll greatly extend the life of the machine and will enhance its value should you decide to sell it/upgrade in the future. The same goes for the other equipment too! Finally, all these American made splitters that allow single-handed use or a foot pedal give me the heebie-jeebies: please, please, please at the very least make it a hard-wired habit to keep your thumbs (and other squishy body parts!) off the top of the log at all times!
Thanks for the nice post Ivor. I agree about safety but it seems in person the safety seems better bc your hands are pretty far removed from the business going on. I think a roof makes sense not just for the machine but also for the operator. That may come later as we move our production yard to the back 40
Congrats on the new splitter Joe. We run the double self propelled Powersplit for our operation and you are correct, the quality of the splits you get with these vertical splitters is unbelievable. Our clients also prefer "pretty"wood over the big chunks of firewood so the powersplit/Axis type splitters lets us have a really good quality control over the finished product. Until you run one of these vertical splitters, you don't realize the different ergonomics involved compared to a traditional horizontal splitter. The efficiency of motion is %100 better. One warning to watch out for, Andrews table looks a little higher than our powersplits, but in the winter with a little snow and ice on the table we have had splits come flying out of the splitter at pretty good velocity depending on knots, crotches etc. The powersplits table height puts that right in your mid section if you know what I mean. So be careful of that. Enjoy the video, keep up the good work.
Success can be an unmanageable thing at times . Congratulations ! I’m glad you are able to add some additional efficient equipment to your business, wishing you good health , that will lead to even more success !
Great of Andrew to reach out to you. I have seen this splitter a few times and love the design. Nice big table to stand infant of, log lift, all to make great looking firewood. I'm about your age and would love to work with a splitter like this.

So happy for you Joe that axis should really ramp up production for OWB!
Thanks Sam!
Congratulations
Thanks WW
Congrats on the new machine!! It’s a real beauty!!
I use my Christmas Vacation Cousin Eddie voice... "Ain't she a beaut Clark? LOL
Nice machine!!
Sure is Michael! When it gets dirty and needs a detailing I will give you a call!
@@ohiowoodburner that looks like a machine I would want to operate as well as detail.!
Nice splitter.
Thanks 👍
So happy for you!! Love the axis. Andrew Easton is an exceptional man.
Thanks Zeke. And I totally agree about Andrew!
Very nice post Tom. I already found out how ice make the rounds slippery and prone to shoot out. A lot of fun lol
Congratulations... love your sense of humor. Last show was too funny. That is an awesome splitter. Waist high ergonomically correct. Have fun
The working height is excellent. It will be used a lot!
My absolute favorite wood splittin' machine! Congrats on the new tractor and Eastonmade Axis!
Thanks BF!
Success can be an unmanageable thing at times . Congratulations ! I’m glad you are able to add some additional efficient equipment to your business, wishing you good health , that will lead to even more success !
Thanks so much Eddie!
Great vid! Congratulations! Looks like it would be great for getting consistent sizes for my bbq Resturant.
Definitely! This is the foundation of our style of firewood. Small splits = more $
Like a kid at Christmas!! Enjoy your new toy but don't forget the safety shoes, those logs can hurt the toes!!
LOL Thanks Larry. My other sneakers are steel toes. Sometimes I put on what is closest to me. Joe
That splitter moves thru the wood with precision and id of never pegged you for a speed reader while flipping thru the manual lol good stuff brother
LOL... I'm a pro skimmer!
Great of Andrew to reach out to you. I have seen this splitter a few times and love the design. Nice big table to stand infant of, log lift, all to make great looking firewood. I'm about your age and would love to work with a splitter like this.
I just ran it again today. Very big machine. I love the table height. Joe
Such a brilliant machine. I want one. Lol
Give Andrew a call!
