@@williamklein6649 Sure is William looks to be right on point with ole buster speed wise but it sure has a lot of features that buster don’t . I really like the auto idle down for saving gas and who don’t like a nice paint job . They really did a nice job on this new axis and took vertical splitting to a new level .

Andrew...Glad to see you recognized idle-down control needs to be lengthened. That 4-second time will destroy that engine constantly going from idle to full RPM as frequently as it is. I'd suggest 2-3 minutes for when a guy/gal goes to get/load more wood. Just my humble opinion as an engineer!

    Hi Andrew!!😀😀
You have got yourself a real machine there now.
I'm glad you realized that the idle delay needs to be quite a bit longer. Probably between 10 to 15 seconds. Otherwise someone is going to get hurt racing the idle down.
    Take care my friend!!😀😀👍👍

I’m in the market for a wood splitter. Love everything about this machine EXCEPT the 4 second engine idle down aspect. I want the full power for use all the time. A good example is when Andrew was operating the log lift and the engine had reduced itself to idle; the RPM’s need to be high for the hydraulics to do the work. Not a fan of having to wake the machine up. I can’t see the concept of rpm reduction consistently adjusting from low to high providing significant fuel usage reduction and engine wear. Otherwise the new machine looks like a winner! Another great product from Eastonmade. Congrats Andrew.

I think 15 seconds delay before idle would serve you fine. Just make it easy for the owner to adjust. I just know some people won't want it at all and some will. But I think if you time however long it takes for the wood to travel up the conveyor that would be a good starting point for the delay. Nice idea.

  • @FireStartersPremiumFirewood
    @FireStartersPremiumFirewood 5 месяцев назад +1

Wow!! What a difference 2 weeks can make. Obviously a few kinks to work out but the auto idle down idea is awesome. Like everyone is saying though, it probably needs to be 10-15 seconds or so. User adjustable would be even better. The cycle time is unreal, I like the idea of the speed being user adjustable on that as well. That is pretty fast for a noob that hasn't learned all the ins and outs of rounds with cuts that aren't parallel yet. Having all of the controls on the front of the machine is freaking awesome. It sure is going to make it easier to sell one while doing a demonstration when you can have a casual conversation with a potential buyer when the machine is at idle or shut down. How's that Black Crows song go.... Jealous, jealous again! 🤩

I bought an Axis. It delivered almost two weeks ago. It shipped with the conveyor detached. That means I must attach the conveyor to the work table. I looked for instructions that would show a picture or two plus some written instructions. I think it is assumed that everyone purchasing an Axis has equipment to position this beast of a conveyor to be attached to the work table. Not so. My helper and I attempted to align the end of the conveyor to the end of the work table. We would get it to almost an inch from alignment but two tringler pieces that needed to go under the swivel plate would not go under unless I lifted the conveyor up in the air so as for those two tringler pieces to go under the plate, letting alignment of channels for a shaft to be driven through. The two of us could not lift it sufficiently high enough to get alignment.
Before I tell you what I did, I would like to hear direct from the horses mouth the recommended procedure for attaching the conveyor to the splitter. May I suggest that the procedure be included in the manual.
Tomorrow the splitter will get its grand beginning splitting tons of rounds.
Been waiting a long time for a splitter that takes the work out of bundling firewood. Thanks Eastonmade and your excellent team of innovators.

love mine still but add a boat winch on the log lift. Sucks trying to pin the lift yourself (always have to pin and unpin when transporting down the road. Other huge thing ill add is u guys should try and make some kind of a rougher top on the things. U guys up in the big woods have to nice trees but us slums lords in the lower 48 have big nasty gnarly trees and the wood flys out at you when you not looking. I have been messing with some stuff hoping to dial it in better, but a table top that doesn't let the logs slide around but catches it when force is applied is key!! Might be stupid but it helped me. Adding a fold drop leg on the tongue inside of using one or both of the side ones is much easier and seems more correct. Keep on EM, much love from Wisconsin.

Other than having a 15 second standard idle down time with a 30 and maybe 45 second as options, which I know you're aware of, I would say your set. Anything beyond 45 seconds and there's no point in having the idle down feature, IMO.
Name wise, I would throw in AXIS Deluxe. But I have seen AXIS+ by several others and that's solid too. Or keeping the name you have now. No sense in getting carried away with the name or making it sound like it's a totally different, redesigned machine.

Love that speed!!! I also like the swivel conveyor!! I was thinking as the video progressed that the electronic thing slowing and speeding up the engine might need adjustment. Is the idea of that to save gas? Would the user be able to change the timing? Can the feature be turned off? For me, I don't think I like that feature. On the other hand if the timing was longer so that it would only slow down when I went to load the log lift, that might be OK. I am going to tell Lumber Capital Log Yard about this in the comments of their next video.

Thanks for all your great content! Really enjoy following along and seeing whats going on and what’s new at Eastonmade! 🔥💯👍 Andrew from NB :)

Hi Andrew very impressive, how about a Bar to sweep the deck and move the cut logs onto the conveyor in one sweep, instead of one at a time? Possibly a spring loaded. bar that comes down and is maunaly pushed sideways to clear the cut logs to the conveyor feed I wish I could draw! All the best from the Alps. Bill

The time to idle should be on a rheostat that can be controlled by the operator.

If that is 4 seconds, I would bet you end up in the 30 second range for the final design. I would only want it idling down when I am loading the log lift. That EFI engine sounds great, though!

Now that’s a huge improvement in all aspects of that machine. You have definitely got one impressive R and D division. To you and your team great job. Andrew I have a little technical question for you. I’m tapped out on power at my location. I have another project starting that’s requiring voltage upgrade. I’m submitting an application and a power company engineer is scheduling to meet me. I’m sure part of the conversation will be about my consumption of three phase usage. Could you give me a ball park specs on electric processors. Pre planning now could save time and money in the future. Thank you sir.
