  • Happy 2020! Did you all have any traditions for the holidays? I took my beloved grandmother's recipe for New Year's Day and veganized them while retaining the flavor without any animal product. The black-eyed peas represent prosperity, the collards represent money, and I wanted a different alternative to cornbread this year and the recipe for these quinoa cakes popped in my head! Thank you so much for tuning in. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! Happy New Year! xx

New subscriber here. First I’d like to say the Black Eyed Peas and collard greens that you made here are excellent. I had found collard greens over a month ago in a store in the big city. I have never seen them available before, so I grabbed a bunch brought them home and went on RUclips to find how to cook them. I came across your page decided to give it a go and wow, I absolutely loved both, hence I am back again to make again. I soaked some black-eyed peas before I went to bed last evening. Its very cold here I woke up this morning and I can’t even see across the street with the fog being so thick. It’s -13°C outside but it’s going to get colder, so I am very happy that I soaked beans last night.I am going to have to write this recipe down, I didn’t see a link to the recipe. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing. This is a great comfort food I really enjoy this. If you have a recipe link for everything that has been cooked here, please let me know. I am going to try the quinoa today as well. I didn’t have quinoa last time😊

Looks delicious. I'm 61 and vegan for 6 years now. I add oxtail seasoning (vegan, of course) to my greens. Sometimes found in Jamaican stores. There is an oxtail seasoning on Amazon. But the closest thing I've found to the oxtail seasoning I've found in Jamaican stores is Fiesta Fancy Hamburger Deluxe seasoning. It is also vegan and is available on Amazon.
