    I actually think the Hulk Hogan theme works so well for Goku's entrance because even the lyrics seem oddly fitting for him. Specifically the "If you hurt my friends you hurt my pride" line. Being from Australia myself, I feel that it's relevant for me to point out that not only are XXXX and Victorian Bitter actual Australian beers, but Jeice promoting XXXX specifically over VB would fit into his character as being from 'Space Brisbane, as XXXX is a beer that is made and distributed locally in the state of Queensland (of which Brisbane is the Capital City)... and yes, it does taste a lot better than VB!
    So kudos on TFS (specifically Jeices VA) on doing their research on this 👏

    • @ScrayDragon
      @ScrayDragon Год назад +10

      VB is the most popular beer in Australia. Very on brand for Jeice I agree, haven't met a Queenslander who doesn't prefer XXXX... and I lived there for a couple years. Personally VB is better to me though, XXXX tastes like watered down drunk person piss put into a can, especially XXXX Gold... Which is probably why Queenslanders seem to like XXXX because it's the only place I've seen full strength XXXX as opposed to gold.

      That line works great as wrestling promo and also is incredibly true to Vegeta’s character. His whole character is “I’m the best fighter because of who I am”, which tends to just get his ass kicked and eventually killed. He only gets stronger because of his constant ass kickings until he realizes he needs to train to arrive at the same levels of strength Goku has reached, which finally starts happening in the Android Saga.

    11:46 "I wonder how Nail compares to the Ginyus." Funnily enough, it's actually Frieza himself who gives us this answer.
    During their 'fight', Frieza took a reading of Nail with his Scouter that recorded his power at around 42,000, which is about the same neighborhood as Recoome, Jeice and Burter's estimated 40-50,000 (Ginyu mentions to Jeice before his fight with Goku that 60,000 would've been enough to one-shot a beat-up Recoome and trounce a fresh Burter, and Vegeta was somewhere in the low-to-mid 30,000's before he got the Senzu Bean Zenkai). So in other words, Nail could absolutely have kicked Vegeta's ass after their little back-and-forth at Guru's place, especially with Gohan, Krillin and Dende's help. It would've been Earth all over again for the Prince, only this time there'd be no Goku to save him.

    When you seamlessly merged your comedy style with wrestling in-jokes, I feel like it was a defining moment in my youth with regards to the kind of person I wanted to be. I laughed so hard, I realised I needed a friends group who joked like that. I was now proud to be a wrestling fan, a DBZ fan and someone who got all these Internet jokes you'd been dropping in prior episodes.
    In turn, I could see your development too: how much funnier the jokes were getting, Kaiser's editing levelling up and your character voices becoming more refined. It felt like a journey of self-acceptance that you 'and' us viewers were going through together in the most hilarious way possible. I even adopted your characters' cadence for a while to work on my timing when speaking and landing jokes just right. I'd argue I still take inspiration from DBZ Abridged. Can't express enough how impactful this series was on so many of us, with Namekimania standing as your most iconic episode for me personally, even though you would go on to improve further still.
