all the pirates as people called them were just people wanting to be free to set their own laws and have their own society i honestly pity edward at that moment because too many of his friends were lost just because they wanted to be free of kings and emperors
some of them weren't much of a friend, nor an able sailor neither. But they were strange and lively, and made me laugh more than once. And that's enough to make me miss them, seeing them like this. I hope you guys found a lasting peace, down there, among the dead...
Ezio was an amazing character and he had a trilogy. In my opinion Edward deserves one too. Next ac game will be on egypt or japan, but i want edward back. Let's convince ubisoft to make more games with Edward!!
Melanie: Oh my God?! Are you alright?! Me: I'm bleeding, I was just injected with a drug and I'm fading into unconsciousness. Yes. I should be alright.
Too bad you guys don't understand the significance of that ending, the play... So, I as a reader of the Assassins Creed books will tell you. When they talk about the chocolate store or what not, later that night, they were attacked and Edward and the property owner say, defended their family, duh. Later on Edward shows Haytham his "Assassins side," he shows him an assassins sword and such at their estate but didn't give explicit detail. Yes Edward becomes more of an assassins then he does in this game (This felt more like Pirates Creed IMO). Sadly though, the steward was actually a Templar supporter, and 3 or so Templars came to attack Edward at his estate. Haytham was able to kill one but Edward was fighting two in his study but was unfortunately stabbed and killed there. Haytham's sister (Kenway's daughter as you see in this video) was kidnapped along with several other servants. That property owner (Think his name was Birch or something) tricked Haytham and made him think it was actually the assassins that came after them, and it was cause of him that Haytham was "indoctrinated" and changed into a Templar... Sad that Edward died this way and it's a bit say, anti-climactic but... eh. Please like this comment so others can understand Edward's ending story and the significance of that scene at the theater.
Also that at the beginning of AC3 Haytham is asked if he has ever seen this play before. Haytham replies, Once with his father and didn't get the pleasure of seeing it all.
Yeah it is a very time consuming game. It's really fun to play but kinda boring once you've completed the main storyline and the DLCs are boring as well. Overall I loved it though.
How is it the lives of Assassins are always so sad? *Spoilers* Altair's wife died & he was kicked out of the order and sent into exile for 10 years. Ezio lost his father and two brothers, Cristina, & his Uncle Mario. Connor (I think, but not sure because I never played AC3) lost his whole village..? And Edward lost all his comrades, his daughter was forced to be a concubine and his son was brought into the Templars.
Connor lost his mother. From what I know he suspected Charles Lee of burning his village and killing his mother when in actuality it was his well respected friend, George Washington. His village survived but like i said his mother died. I dont want to spoil the rest of the game for you but there are 2 other sad parts.
I have already watch all the important cutscenes, so I know generally what happens, I just don't remember the details because I didn't actually play it in its entirety. What are the other two sad parts?
God that ending! Kenway and Ezio, my two favorite teachers that never existed. Damn, I had no idea that words spoken from the non-existent could be more powerful and more meaningful and more wise then those spoken by today's leaders. It shows you what a good story can teach us.
When she started singing and Edward looked over to the table where he saw his old friends before making his way down to his daughter I started to cry :( this scene was sooo beautiful.. Please tell me I wasn't the only one crying
TheGreenAssassin I thought that too but looking back on it, I think it was a double irony statement Edward was making. He was a pirate, true and true, but all the other pirates were dead either by his hand or his enemies. Very sad line.
1. The protagonist is YOU (the player) 2. If you go to the ac initiates website and check the database, you will come across a file where Shaun texts to Rebecca saying something like "Give Bill some time, he just saw his son get killed. He'll be back with the Brotherhood soon, we just need to wait." Or something like that. 3. In another initiates file, you can see them getting in disguise and erasing all the data Abstergo has on them, so they're safe to enter. Hope this helped anyone who was confused.
It draws you in and makes you forget that these are characters in a game (based on historical figures). It's what makes it incredible, you don't control Edward, you become Edward.
"You're a good man Edward. And if you'd learn to keep settled in one place for more than a week, you'll make a fine father too." From this quote to her song. Imagine the men who were told this, because i am sure there were a few. A great man doing what he believes in. Not just being a Pirate but to believe in something bigger then the few people who controlled everything. Just a name that rode the waves; true sailor!
Note the "happy hacking" at the end, and next door to the employee's cubical, is a computer you hack and on it is a message from John to Olivier. John says he found something that even Abstergo Industries is thinking about wanting and it is none other than a proposal from The Blume Corporation asking to give Abstergo ctOS. AKA: Watch_Dogs. So Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed are in fact in the same universe and since it's coming in May, then we should see a big part tied with Assassin's Creed and maybe Ubisoft will make an EPIC crossover.
No need for a cross over really, it already seems to be enough of just a modern day AC so not likely but maybe they'll have pierce stolen by Abstergo and plugged in or have it that he was the one who kidnapped Olivier.
Also, Olivier is the target of the final car fleet mission(the official name of the missions escapes me right now) in Watch_Dogs, which makes sense, since he came to Chicago for a shareholder's meeting, and he's dead in Rogue, with Melany ominously saying that they never found his body, so it's canon that Aiden Pierce killed him.
Weird thing is, in this Haythem is a white kid with blonde hair. In Assassin's Creed 3, he has brown skin and black hair. It's assumed that Haythem is of arabic ancestry through his mother, thus his complexion in AC3. But in this clip he is clearly white and blonde.
No, I'm taking about Haythem. Did you not play AC3? You can look up any picture of Haythem, he's dark skin, dark brown eyed, dark haired. His only white trait is his accent and features.
UTxTheArchangel I have no idea how you think his skin complexion is dark. I was pretty sure he was white and I double checked in the Assassins wiki and sure enough, he was white. Maybe not AS white as he was when he was small but thats normal since obviously he's grown. But all in all, he's still white. assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Haytham_Kenway And yes, he does have dark hair, not sure why. AND I have played ALL the AC game for your information.
Yes. In Assassins Creed 3 You will often hear about Conners Grandfather Edward Kenway. in AC3 Shaun mentions him when you talk with him as desmond., also conner mentions him in a naval mission. So yeah.. unfortunately That cute little kid is gonna grow up to be a piece of shit. But a bad ass one...
***** Most people lack the patience to sit through the credits. After the saving symbol vanishes, many will restart the system. I learned my lesson when I was playing Dead Space 3 with the end credit easter egg.
for some reason the death of mary read/james did not really sadden me I know she was pregnant or was she just saying that so see was not hung don't remember hehe bu I really felt a friendship with Blackbeard and when he died I just wanted to slaughter everyone on the ship
***** yeah remember when they were capturing all the pirates because they wanted to fix up the islands. Thats when they got him also read his story on the game. It tells you what happens to all of them in case its missed
acdclife94 where exactly can I read this in game? I saw it on wikia pages somewhere, but not in game.. specially not as detailed as Bonnet drying. Cheers!
Yea it's the same for me but I don't understand why people hate Revalations that much. It's a pretty good game. Better than AC3 but just a bit better than AC:BH because of the extra features.
Baynetwork631 I don't really understand why people hate the Hookblade and the bombs. I can understand the TD but I liked that as well even tho it did get boring after the like 3rd time it was a nice minigame. And the Hookblade was something pretty awesome in my opinion. It helps at climbing which is very important in the like of a assassin and it gives you some more agility in fights which is never bad. Well the bombs were something you had to get used to but they were neat. you had many different bombs and you could just tinker a bit with them.
The scene with all the legendary pirates sat at the table, dead and gone, that puts a lump in my throat every time. Pretty much summing up Kenways story in one quick scene, very good.
It was fun playing aside you legendary pirates, the ending was perfect and i was down to see them all sitting down together it was a good memory Thank you Assassin creed IV.
7:05 i felt more sad about the death of each one of those 6 than i did 50% of the main characters in vidoe games, when i was 14 i never understood the story, just cared about gameplay, i didn't even know it was this deep
what disappointing me the most was that even after I hacked ever 33 computers (there were actually 34) we didn't get any interactions with Shaun and Rebecca and the main character, not even a thank you, or you did it. (dammit i miss them)
haha awesome...Haythem as a little boy...inside the very same theater where you start the prologue mission with an adult Haythem assassinating someone at the beginning of AC III lol..very nicely done! I love how one AC follows up the previous one! :D
The man Haytham assassinates in the theater is Miko, an assassin. Haytham got into a fight with Miko in Corsica and disarmed his hidden blade, which is why Haytham has the assassin insignia on one of his gauntlets.
I remember my first time playing this. The halogram image of Juno creeped me the hell out then she popped up in front of me when I tried to leave, making me jump and swear. But lord, when this guy showed up with a needle in his hand, I was severely uncomfortable that I just scooted backwards from the screen. When Melanie asks if I'm all right I literally answered her with, "Does it look like I'm fucking all right?" Good job Ubisoft.
They did an amazing job with the Edward Kenway's character, especially considering how poorly developed was Connor. Edward evolves, changes and redeems himself during the story. And I really loved the fact that he's never really an assassin during the story, but still his path runs parallel with theirs. Unfortunately I didn't like so much the idea of the nameless, faceless, voiceless main character. I would have liked a new character to replace Desmond. I hope this "guy", this Abstergo employee, gets a name in AC V. And if he's supposed to be "us" the players, then I hope they give us the chance to create our own character, not just being a random camera guy walking around....
remember, ac3 was a rushed product, they couldnt get everything done for connor im sure that they would have liked to. and what they did have was fine, a young boy who lost his mother, lived with his people learning skills he uses later, finds an old man just as stubborn as himself to train him, and a father who didnt stay with the mother for various reasons and might have killed him many times but didnt.
lazyartist Last Conner is also a product of his culture. He comes from a far more earnest background that had little need for hiding behind half truths or lies. He's brutally honest and humble. As such, he has a far more black and white view of the world. Combine this with the fact he was essentially a fish out of water in the Colonial culture and it may seem like he was shallow and whiny. But in reality he's someone who calls an apple what it is in a world that would call it an orange if it meant getting something out of it. This frustrates him greatly hence why he would be short with various people, specifically when it came to politics. He would do the right thing from the start, rather than settle for the lesser of two evils.
Connor does get character developement outside the game, in AC3 book, he regrets not knowing his father, and in another comic it is revealed he has a daughter.
As of the date of this comment I just beat AC4 man the scene where Edward look at the table an saw the image of his dead former friends made me cry I grew to love those characters you personally felt like you lived in that era. One of three video games ending to move me to tears sonic adventure 2 back in 2003 and mgs4 in 2008. I had my issues and grips with every other AC game in terms of gameplay, story or characters development but AC4 and AC2 tops the cake in terms of the best in the series
Stede Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate Benjamin Hornigold Charles Vane Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch Mary Read, AKA James Kidd "Calico" Jack Rackham Rest in peace, ye rogues, blackguards, and vagabonds who ruled the seven seas with the song of blades and the thunder of cannons.
Everytime i watch this cutscene and see edward look at the table where all his friends were, it makes a shiver go cold down my spine, it makes me feel empty, hallow, sad
Hoping the new assasins creed games hit this emotionally hard, 3, rogue and 4 all gave me major feels..love the kenway saga.. sucks what haythem becomes, and same bro
I just realized that the assasins creed team have cleverly written themselves out of the hole of desmonds death by propositioning that Desomonds blood line split with Caroline under her name Scott and the childeren she went on to have so while Desmond is a direct decendant of Edward Kenway and Haytham Kenway he likely has a distant relative who is a direct decendant of Edward Kenway and Caroline Scott so the miles blood line is alive still in some form. And whether or not the anonymous man we played in AC4 is such a relative or will a entirely new character will be revealed in the next installment of the series?
the person that you play as when you walk round abstergo In the game is not a character it was meant to be you. showing you the story first person. but I see what u where saying because jenny could of had children causing the bloodline to carry on.
YES! This is what I was thinking the first time but some people just don't get Miles family tree. There IS and WILL be another protagonist distant related to Desmond.
I thought they used Desmond's DNA so they could keep his bloodline or something going? They mentioned Desmond and said he was a donor? And you also get to see a video of some guys getting Desmonds body, correct me if I'm completly wrong, but this is what I understood :D
The table of dead friends is truly saddening. No sarcasm, that bit was sad. But for those who want a laugh...try this when you're wearing the outfit that has a pirate cape. I did for a while, and then was on the ship...and she's like, "Will we see pirates?" 'No...not much chance of that...' _While he's wearing a jolly roger cloak/cape._ That was pretty funny. Also, this is hardly a secret ending. It's not even hard to watch the credits since after the song ends they chat for a bit. So it isn't even just boring a credit roll the whole time.
This is my favorite ending to any AC game. It was about seeing a man filled with greed caring about nothing, but money and watching him learn the way of the Assassin's on his own without a Mentor. This game is more about the Creed than any other game.
you did not just say that! AC has introduced many new mechanics over the years and are constantly changing unlike COD! And it's selling point is their plot which is amazing! As long as it keeps up this innovation and plot, I and many others will gladly pay a premium for more of this game.
***** The problem is, they stopped producing content that has quality. After making the first AC, they spent 3 years making AC2. They have stopped that now. Well, they did do well with AC Brotherhood, but now the series is kinda going downhill... It was a bit pointless to add Desmond and the end of the world. The least they could do is get out of the Kenway family, and make a continuation of stories like Ezio.
zharif afiza The only thing they really added for Black Flag was the really annoying and repetitive ship combat, which for some reason people praised from the AC3. And many of the islands in Black Flag were linear.... Linear levels in an Assassins Creed game?! I could not climb in many places because there were vines over the structures.... Wat.... The combat was a lot easier in Black Flag as well, assassinating targets were... dull. A simple headshot from a far and the job was done. And the dialogue the characters gave after they died was simply boring and everyone didn't mind dying.... wat..... The plot outside the Animus was only tiny tid bits of what happened after AC3, and tiny revelations to Subject 0 and 1. But that was really it, the story overall outside the Animus was short and dull, except the audio tapes from Desmond. The Combat overall was more fun in Revelations and AC3. Black Flag was nothing but a load of side things to do, take forts, kill a thousand ships, find loads of chests and marked things on your map. BUT! Kenways main story was quite emotional and well written, though extremely short.
I reckon this is the best AC game of the series. I know AC2 was incredible, but that was partly because it was such a big leap from AC1 (which also was incredible). AC4 is the biggest, most polished AC game yet with tons of stuff to do. I also really liked playing as Edward who had a great personality, especially towards the end. The easy transition when boarding ships is amazingly well done, and the graphics even on current gen are absolutely perfect. The amount of content in this game, from 3 major cities (I especially like Havana which reminds me alot of venice in AC2 in terms of parkour opportunities) to the whole of the carribean to explore is spectacular. Thanks Ubisoft for bringing the series back on track. If you have read the AC comic Assassins Creed: Brahman, the developers have said that it has strong links with the development after AC4 and the modern day character in Brahman may be the person we are playing as in this game.
Melanie is not a Templar. She works for Templars, even though she doesn't know it. Most of the employees from Abstergo Entertainment are normal people that are working for Templars without knowing it.
Darkwolf523 That's also what I read. Honestly, I think that the entire point of the Abstergo interludes in this game were to bring their next main modern day protagonist up to speed without having to spend an obnoxious amount of time in the next game telling her about tings most players already know.
He is not an ancestor of Roberts, this is logically impossible (you can't be the ancestor of somebody that had died centuries before you have even born). He is, however, the REINCARNATION of the same dude which Roberts also is.
Bradley B A Sage IS a reincarnation of Aita especifically, that's the definition. He's not exactly Aita, but he remember everything from his past lifes, so yeah, i know he's Aita. And "He is, however, the REINCARNATION of the same dude which Roberts also is." proves that I was aware of that. If i didn't know about it, I would just simply say that John is a descendant from Roberts. Because in no other AC games REINCARNATION is mentioned, only descendance and gene heritages.
The ending to this game, is as good as Bioshock infinite, without the mind fuck ending. The end of this game, introduced Assassins creed 3, BUT the ending of number 3 was shitty. AC3 almost ruined the series for me, I honestly said "This is bad, I'm done with Assassins creed games". I gave AC4 a chance, I was not disappointed!
8yrs in the military and this song and ending fit suited to my leaving i see my friends i knew over the years at one table and i leave to go home to never see them again. the song the words are precise on my life.
Best (and saddest) ending to an Assassin's Creed game in the entire series. I LOVED Black Flag (I cried when she started singing and Edward saw his dead friends...) :(
Yeah, I see this "secret" ending all the time i complete the game, soo yeah..... somucsecret.wow. Although, its nice to see Kenway as a father of awsomeness.
This is the best ac game ever we will never get a better one. This is the biggest ac game(not including the leaked one) this is just the best and wi will never get a better
Combat is arguable, mainly because it doesnt work properly for me but i liked the rest, it was loads better than unity, so theres that, and Shaun and Rebecca returned, without those ugly duck faces 3rd generation gave them for some weird reason...
Edward Kenway was my second favorite Assassin out of the series (1st being Connor becoming Grandmaster of the Assassins). Edward probably has the best assassins creed outfit out of the entire series.
For those that don't know why Haytham ended up a Templar while Edward was an Assassin later in his life: Edward got murdered by mercenaries and a man close to the family, Reginald Birch continued to raise Haytham.
TrollForce and yet he did it for the greater good of humanity, whereas his father raped and pillaged across the Caribbean with no particular scope. After all, he had joined the Assassins because he liked the motto "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." and used it to justify his crimes.
If you all remember from AC3, Haytham said something like "I saw this play once, As a boy, but I don't recall much of it". This was the exact play that he went to in this ending as a boy and at the beginning of AC3.
wyatt whitmer your an idiot edward is Haythams dad Connor from ac3's grandfather in the begining of ac3 Haytham says that the last time he wat in that opera house wat sith his father the ending of ac4 was that time he was there with his father ergo Edward Kenway Haythem Kenways father jesus or as edward would say jaysus man
wyatt whitmer what that guy who bombarded you with useless information meant to say was, its not really a secret ending it just rolls at the credits when you actually stay to look at them, I did and I saw it and its not really an ending in fact more like an epilogue.
This ending links back in Assassin's Creed 3, because in the beginning when you have to kill the guy in the opera house. That is the opera house. Also, that the area where the guy is killed.
I was knee deep in tears watching Edward give that flower to her daughter. And little Haytham.Further more that song so goes with this scenario.BEST GAME EVER!
They can always prolong the series and it doesn't have to end. They only need to come up with clever sequels and they'll be fine. So far, except for AC I, every games has been great actually and interesting. They've brought awareness to people who actually don't care about historic events, or don't know of them like the American Civil War etc. I think that the next game should be about perhaps the Crusades or something. Ottoman Empire. Something in the Middle East.
AC1 had the most interesting story to me and actually rewarded timing and skill... now its just hack and slash aimed for the more casual audience.. and do you think any of the later installments would have existed without AC1? What a stupid comment.
This ending touched my heart. I was sad that the game had ended. what a journey it had been to play Edward. Such a nice man he was. In the end it was so nice to get a glimpse of young Haytham.
sam ashley yep.. but i felt sad where he sees all the pirates on the table and he even sees those who betrayed him despite the fact he never wanted them to betray him.. but hey! atleast he had his revenge..
I loved the ending... until I read a synopsis of the book that comes after detailing the life of Haytham... It was really goddamn depressing to learn how SPOILERS pointlessly Edward dies, and how Jennifer's life pretty much becomes a parade of horrors.
Requires 100% completion to get Secret ending. P.S. Templar is best outfit. Good for winter, cover neck for winds, cover hands. Just dont cover head which on cutscenes looks ridiculous how he wear invincible.
(I have not watched the entire video yet) The secret ending (with Haytham) can still be seen without 100% completion. It's like the Shawarma scene in 'The Avengers'. If you wait through the credits you get something fun to enjoy.
Boy_Scouts_For_Life i think it was a good story but they shouldnt have Made it "go get some papers and then jump back into the animus and get us some footage", shouldnt have Been third person either. I loved the twist with the sage. It was a huge build up for another assassin in real time
No one mentioned anne bonny (Sarah green) singing the parting glass, it's an Irish song and I'm from ireland and also live in ireland. I guess that's why I'm the only one who said this.
This storyline is so crazy thats what I love about the assassins creed series, templars fighting for order and control, assassins fighting for true freedom, the fact that we were created by a higher race to serve them and adam and eve escaped to become the first free humans. Pretty trippy
Edward's expression when he sees all of his friends is what makes me sad. Like i could feel his sadness in his face during the scene.
The sadness of missing people who made a great difference in your life only to not have them around to see how far you've come
Like CJ in GTA SAN ANDREAS
all the pirates as people called them were just people wanting to be free to set their own laws and have their own society i honestly pity edward at that moment because too many of his friends were lost just because they wanted to be free of kings and emperors
Baroque Chevalier Noir me to
Danger M I'll have two number 5's
I legitemately shed some tears when I saw Thatch, Hornigold, Mary and the rest sitting at that table...
This game is so good.
Man, I shed tears too, when I saw them and when they died, especially Thatch and Mary...So damn sad.
And vane
Takasart me too
some of them weren't much of a friend, nor an able sailor neither. But they were strange and lively, and made me laugh more than once. And that's enough to make me miss them, seeing them like this. I hope you guys found a lasting peace, down there, among the dead...

All hail the Golden Age of Piracy!
The song plus Edward seeing all the people that have passed is really moving. AC has become more than just a game.

Sucks that 2 guys killed Edward he deserved a better death than that
Also that at the beginning of AC3 Haytham is asked if he has ever seen this play before. Haytham replies, Once with his father and didn't get the pleasure of seeing it all.
White Shadow "Please like this comment" lol attention much?
2 guys kill him, meanwhile in the game I take out 10+ guys with no weapons
White Shadow That just is wrong. Haytham never even knew he was betraying his dad and then in AC3 he seem not even care that he did!
One of the best games I've ever played absolutely loved this game and also maybe one of the hardest
Barath Ramanathan Well, if You want to earn the absolute 100% it's quite challenging.
Yea that's what I did
I said on of the best not the best and I've played more games than this
Yeah it is a very time consuming game. It's really fun to play but kinda boring once you've completed the main storyline and the DLCs are boring as well. Overall I loved it though.
True
How is it the lives of Assassins are always so sad? *Spoilers*
Altair's wife died & he was kicked out of the order and sent into exile for 10 years.
Ezio lost his father and two brothers, Cristina, & his Uncle Mario.
Connor (I think, but not sure because I never played AC3) lost his whole village..?
And Edward lost all his comrades, his daughter was forced to be a concubine and his son was brought into the Templars.

His mentor of the assassins die of natural causes (not many of those) and he kills his father Haythem which would be loss and sad
Oh yeah and cant forget altair was betrayed and had to kill his father figure and mentor and ezios friend the arabian assassin
So you just skipped from ACR to AC4? Ok....
God that ending! Kenway and Ezio, my two favorite teachers that never existed. Damn, I had no idea that words spoken from the non-existent could be more powerful and more meaningful and more wise then those spoken by today's leaders. It shows you what a good story can teach us.
Hey man, i cried enough watching the video, don't make me cry again...
Have sure!
It's so freaking sad that almost all of his friends died.
Matúš Gregorka ikr? i like ezio and edward but this is my favorite game of assassin's creed.
When she started singing and Edward looked over to the table where he saw his old friends before making his way down to his daughter I started to cry :( this scene was sooo beautiful.. Please tell me I wasn't the only one crying
I was wondering why blackbeard was there, that was some pretty huge mindfuck. Thanks.
You weren't
You're not alone man..
I did. Also had goosebumps all over my arms
Edward's life is a sad on

Edward was betrayed and bled to death
James Hornigold, the traitor. But you still see him with his other dead friends
What, I heard Edward call hm James

TheGreenAssassin I thought that too but looking back on it, I think it was a double irony statement Edward was making. He was a pirate, true and true, but all the other pirates were dead either by his hand or his enemies. Very sad line.

UPDATE: I watched it again and this time I actually cried ;u;
DopeAsFk bit weird dude...
seems legit!
1. The protagonist is YOU (the player)
Anne's song is absolutely beautiful
The ending left me really sad I wish Mary and the others lived but it did make the game better because it makes you sad.
+giddy cypress expecially blackbeard...
damn that guy deserve evil title
I feel u bro
and these are the guys who are gonna make the new assassins creed bring out the tissues when playing
It draws you in and makes you forget that these are characters in a game (based on historical figures). It's what makes it incredible, you don't control Edward, you become Edward.
"You're a good man Edward. And if you'd learn to keep settled in one place for more than a week, you'll make a fine father too."
From this quote to her song.
No need for a cross over really, it already seems to be enough of just a modern day AC so not likely but maybe they'll have pierce stolen by Abstergo and plugged in or have it that he was the one who kidnapped Olivier.
animo358 I think it was just an easter egg. BAck when AC4 was released it was originally only a month until Watch Dogs release
I played through the whole Ezio saga and Assassins Creed 3 but for some reason THIS is the thing that makes me tear up.
then watch AC embers, just great.
jagonation I also watched AC Embers, but like I said, THIS is the thing that made me tear up.
TheTechPoTaToCHIP Yeah, same for me. When Anne is singing and Edward sees his old friends...it makes me tear up.
by, no Secret i mean that, this is normal assassins creed 4 ending, thats it
Weird thing is, in this Haythem is a white kid with blonde hair. In Assassin's Creed 3, he has brown skin and black hair.
It's assumed that Haythem is of arabic ancestry through his mother, thus his complexion in AC3. But in this clip he is clearly white and blonde.
dirty hair,tons of tanning
Think it's only the lights that make it look blond, when I saw this first on my TV-screen it looked very black.
I think your talking about Conner, who was a native.
But all in all, he's still white. assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Haytham_Kenway
And yes, he does have dark hair, not sure why. AND I have played ALL the AC game for your information.
7:01 The feels would have hurt me if we spent more time knowing them same with Anne Bonny we only do like 4 missions with her.
12:37 isn`t that hall the same from the AC III from the 1st mission.
yes it is
sherlock XD
***** He was still a awesome fighter. He nearly killed conner on multiple occasions, and nobody is able to take him down for the longest time.
Fair enough.. he sucks. XD
How is that "Secret" When everyone gets that ending?
Played the game 4 times and got same ending.
Click Bait.
Not everyone watches the credits.
Not my problem
Brendon Leonard Lmao
***** Most people lack the patience to sit through the credits. After the saving symbol vanishes, many will restart the system. I learned my lesson when I was playing Dead Space 3 with the end credit easter egg.
***** Me to,it's just a game though,I don't understand why I felt so emotional.
That's not a secret ending, if u are patient enough to watch it all then you'll get that lol.
It’s been common practice to skip credits for decades now and devs know most people do. So yes it is a secret ending.
So sad that it took all of edward's friends and family for him to realise that money isn't everything... :( best character I've ever played!
yeah I hate when you think back when black beard died along with mary reed
for some reason the death of mary read/james did not really sadden me I know she was pregnant or was she just saying that so see was not hung don't remember hehe bu I really felt a friendship with Blackbeard and when he died I just wanted to slaughter everyone on the ship
Kyle Murray I took out all the man o' wars that's how angry I was when blackbeard died
dat be some rage der bro :D but yeah blackbeard was fuckin awesome and died fighting
Ya. I agree. My favorite character (other than Edward) was Mary Read.
This is not a secret ending i had the same thing the same as my friend
i nearly cried when i see all kenways friend on table ....
LeRealJL he died too, got caught by the english and was crying before he was hung. The game is sad
***** yeah remember when they were capturing all the pirates because they wanted to fix up the islands. Thats when they got him also read his story on the game. It tells you what happens to all of them in case its missed
hey yo assassin cred 4 shows only 42 % complete after end what's that mean
acdclife94 where exactly can I read this in game? I saw it on wikia pages somewhere, but not in game.. specially not as detailed as Bonnet drying. Cheers!
***** im with you James Kidd's death was saddening and made me cry D':
My top 3 of this series is probably..
1. Assassin's Creed 2
2. Assassin's creed 4 black flag
3. Assassin's creed Revelation
:) I put revelation because the story wasn't as good as AC2 and it didn't have as much content as black flag.
But still good game.
Yea it's the same for me but I don't understand why people hate Revalations that much. It's a pretty good game. Better than AC3 but just a bit better than AC:BH because of the extra features.
Miko
AC1, for me, was a big winner. Mainly because it was huge at that time, and was unlike most games at that time.
Id say AC2 AC Brotherhood AC4
Baynetwork631 I don't really understand why people hate the Hookblade and the bombs. I can understand the TD but I liked that as well even tho it did get boring after the like 3rd time it was a nice minigame. And the Hookblade was something pretty awesome in my opinion. It helps at climbing which is very important in the like of a assassin and it gives you some more agility in fights which is never bad. Well the bombs were something you had to get used to but they were neat. you had many different bombs and you could just tinker a bit with them.
That's not a secret ending. Everyone gets that cutscene.
It's considered secret because only few actually watch the credits.
+JustinsRealmMC actually 30% of gamers watch the cutscenes so it's not really secret
You just skip the credit idiot.
Well this time it isnt 30 minutes AND its interactive with some conversation.
i was always forced to watch the credits so i believed other gamers were too...thats not much of a secret you know
Draven.. What had you become..
xD
+Caitlyn TheSheriffOfPiltover not draven, draaaaaaven.
i am just myself thank you
OMFG I just realized now that he is identical to Draven o.O
He has been slain
steps onto ship flying the pirate flag (in my case also with pirate sails and wearing a pirate cloak) ; "Will we see pirates daddy?"
+fichin butler Bitch slow lol jk
I think that's what gives it a bit of humour, that you know she's staring at a pirate who's sunk more ships and butchered more soldiers than most.
The scene with all the legendary pirates sat at the table, dead and gone, that puts a lump in my throat every time. Pretty much summing up Kenways story in one quick scene, very good.
The best AC so far, the part where he sees all his dead friends made me cry
It was fun playing aside you legendary pirates, the ending was perfect and i was down to see them all sitting down together it was a good memory Thank you Assassin creed IV.
Right as the guards kill the sage and you start to black out...i always say "Worst....TEMP JOB....EVER"
it lightens the mood a bit haha.
(dammit i miss them)
pretty sure you get messages through your animus tablet
@@Cabbage-Enjoyer thanks for the answer man, id forgotten ive played this game
Just wait till the credits are don. Though i don't really know how its secret cos everybody expected it. You even get an achievement for watching it.
haha awesome...Haythem as a little boy...inside the very same theater where you start the prologue mission with an adult Haythem assassinating someone at the beginning of AC III lol..very nicely done! I love how one AC follows up the previous one! :D
I loved how they died it back to the previous game. It's just cool.
That wasnt so realistic. But effective i can give that one.
The -'Devils of the carribbean ' teaser nod to POTC put a smile on my face !!!
That innocent little boy turned in a monster and Templar... which tried to kill his own son..
They wont make a movie idiot
They wont make a movie idiot
danny here ?
+danny here no you are the idiot the little boy is connor's dad and he tried to kill his own son (connor) in ac3
Oh My God the ignorancy
+~TheBigboyOfDestiny~ True hahaha
They did an amazing job with the Edward Kenway's character, especially considering how poorly developed was Connor. Edward evolves, changes and redeems himself during the story. And I really loved the fact that he's never really an assassin during the story, but still his path runs parallel with theirs. Unfortunately I didn't like so much the idea of the nameless, faceless, voiceless main character. I would have liked a new character to replace Desmond. I hope this "guy", this Abstergo employee, gets a name in AC V. And if he's supposed to be "us" the players, then I hope they give us the chance to create our own character, not just being a random camera guy walking around....
remember, ac3 was a rushed product, they couldnt get everything done for connor im sure that they would have liked to. and what they did have was fine, a young boy who lost his mother, lived with his people learning skills he uses later, finds an old man just as stubborn as himself to train him, and a father who didnt stay with the mother for various reasons and might have killed him many times but didnt.
lazyartist Last
Conner is also a product of his culture.
TheTaff512 i agree, i like connor the way he is, i dont get all the hate on him
Connor does get character developement outside the game, in AC3 book, he regrets not knowing his father, and in another comic it is revealed he has a daughter.
this makes me cry every time
yeah most of his friends and loved ones are dead
As of the date of this comment I just beat AC4 man the scene where Edward look at the table an saw the image of his dead former friends made me cry I grew to love those characters you personally felt like you lived in that era. One of three video games ending to move me to tears sonic adventure 2 back in 2003 and mgs4 in 2008. I had my issues and grips with every other AC game in terms of gameplay, story or characters development but AC4 and AC2 tops the cake in terms of the best in the series
Stede Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate
Benjamin Hornigold
Charles Vane
Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch
Mary Read, AKA James Kidd
"Calico" Jack Rackham
Rest in peace, ye rogues, blackguards, and vagabonds who ruled the seven seas with the song of blades and the thunder of cannons.
Everytime i watch this cutscene and see edward look at the table where all his friends were, it makes a shiver go cold down my spine, it makes me feel empty, hallow, sad
I truly felt some type of way watching this.... Durning the game I shed a tear
And whether or not the anonymous man we played in AC4 is such a relative or will a entirely new character will be revealed in the next installment of the series?
good point
the person that you play as when you walk round abstergo In the game is not a character it was meant to be you. showing you the story first person. but I see what u where saying because jenny could of had children causing the bloodline to carry on.
Here it is! They took his DNA to explore his memories, I said bloodline, hahaha!
This game is more about the Creed than any other game.
i had hopes he would stay with Anne
they would have been the best pair
The Assassin's Creed series are turning into a game like Call Of Duty, I hope that they change that in Assassin's Creed V
you did not just say that! AC has introduced many new mechanics over the years and are constantly changing unlike COD! And it's selling point is their plot which is amazing! As long as it keeps up this innovation and plot, I and many others will gladly pay a premium for more of this game.
what.the fuck. did you just say? i'm gonna pretend you didn't say that
I think he means that the ending wasn't as exciting as the past games, in fact it was pretty boring.
When i saw Roberts (John) i was like WHAT THE FU**
CoexistenceIsKey Roberts is acenstor of john of TI
The secret in the ending is the easter egg: The theatre is the same one Haytham does the assassination mission in AC3.
Do you relise the little boy was haytham kenway
And Haytham also mentions his father as having brought him to the theatre when he was a little boy.
***** He finished his father's work
***** No it wasn't Rogers. Rogers died in Nassau in 1732, well before the events of AC3
Why did Haytham become a Templar when his dad was an Assassin. (kinda)
I like Melanie. She's nice, for a templar. Maybe in the next assassin creed, the reseacher and her will work together still.
Melanie is not a Templar. She works for Templars, even though she doesn't know it. Most of the employees from Abstergo Entertainment are normal people that are working for Templars without knowing it.
Ögeday Önay It is confirmed that Olivier is the only person at Abstergo Entertainment who knows about the Templars involvement with the company.
Seriously?
Darkwolf523
That's also what I read. Honestly, I think that the entire point of the Abstergo interludes in this game were to bring their next main modern day protagonist up to speed without having to spend an obnoxious amount of time in the next game telling her about tings most players already know.
If you paid attention you can tell from the hacked computers and from convos that she has no idea what purpose the observatory research serves.
i fucking cried when anne starded singing and the edward saw all his lost friends :l
John from IT is a ancestor of roberts.
John is aita ;) the lover from Juno in history.
He is not an ancestor of Roberts, this is logically impossible (you can't be the ancestor of somebody that had died centuries before you have even born).
He is, however, the REINCARNATION of the same dude which Roberts also is.
Ok. Still, i dont care.
Vitor Rodrigues But do you even know that john is aita?
Bradley B A Sage IS a reincarnation of Aita especifically, that's the definition. He's not exactly Aita, but he remember everything from his past lifes, so yeah, i know he's Aita.
And "He is, however, the REINCARNATION of the same dude which Roberts also is." proves that I was aware of that. If i didn't know about it, I would just simply say that John is a descendant from Roberts. Because in no other AC games REINCARNATION is mentioned, only descendance and gene heritages.
Vitor Rodrigues Hmm ok thx for the information.
you guys notice he is wearing one of the amulet artifacts?
The ending to this game, is as good as Bioshock infinite, without the mind fuck ending. The end of this game, introduced Assassins creed 3, BUT the ending of number 3 was shitty. AC3 almost ruined the series for me, I honestly said "This is bad, I'm done with Assassins creed games". I gave AC4 a chance, I was not disappointed!
Dude i had exact same feeling with regards to AC3 and AC4
I played AC:4 before AC:3 and was touched to find out the Desmond has died, So i'm playing it now. :p
Andy Puiu
Just wait until Assassins creed 5 "comet, or "unity"
Andythemanman3 both I think comet is a sequel to the past story and unity the mordern one
***** no shit hes a pirate XDD!
8yrs in the military and this song and ending fit suited to my leaving i see my friends i knew over the years at one table and i leave to go home to never see them again. the song the words are precise on my life.
Best (and saddest) ending to an Assassin's Creed game in the entire series. I LOVED Black Flag (I cried when she started singing and Edward saw his dead friends...) :(
the trailer 3:22 was like honest game trailer
thumbs up if you're watching Screen Junkies
I'm dying because it's true. Omg.
this assassin's creed game was the best in the series for me, who else agree 😎
How is this a "Secret" Ending? you're pretty much forced to sit through the credits.
Yeah, I see this "secret" ending all the time i complete the game, soo yeah.....
somucsecret.wow.
Although, its nice to see Kenway as a father of awsomeness.
Lol ikr you can't skip them so therefore this is not a secret ending
This is the best ac game ever we will never get a better one. This is the biggest ac game(not including the leaked one) this is just the best and wi will never get a better
I can't decide between AC 2 and Brotherhood
+Xenomorphic Alien [OFFICIAL] Unity was horrible... I still cannot understand the story at all.
Me neither, but syndicate isnt that bad, its pretty good.
If you want to be pedantic, you could call brotherhood ac2,5, and list the entire ezio trilogy as one game.
Combat is arguable, mainly because it doesnt work properly for me but i liked the rest, it was loads better than unity, so theres that, and Shaun and Rebecca returned, without those ugly duck faces 3rd generation gave them for some weird reason...
when I saw all edward's friends and then his face... shit, I just cried .... one of the most great Assassin's Creed of all time
how is this a secret ending?
it's not, he must have done EVERYTHING outside, inside, or both, in the game, and thought it was.
CallofDutyBlackOps28 Or he was just lying so he could get more views
that could be added, or just the case.
I'm really disappointed that the "Devils of the Caribbean" wasn't the DLC for this game. It would have been so funny...
Gse_ Panda it's cause it wasn't still rated
thats not actualy a secret ending, i got it too and my friends as well
Everyone does, but it is "secret" because it is after the credits.
Yeah cause who looks at the credits?
Edward Kenway was my second favorite Assassin out of the series (1st being Connor becoming Grandmaster of the Assassins). Edward probably has the best assassins creed outfit out of the entire series.
Secretive Life Edward too become the leader of assasins in whole england
Its not secret. You get that cutscene with the opera when you finish the game.
For those that don't know why Haytham ended up a Templar while Edward was an Assassin later in his life: Edward got murdered by mercenaries and a man close to the family, Reginald Birch continued to raise Haytham.
That's all true. I'm just clearing up why Haytham was a bad guy while his father (Edward) was a good guy.
TrollForce Was Haytham a bad guy? I believe, he was not.
Well, he worked with really fucked up people and he wasn't at the same level as bad as Charles Lee.
TrollForce and yet he did it for the greater good of humanity, whereas his father raped and pillaged across the Caribbean with no particular scope. After all, he had joined the Assassins because he liked the motto "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." and used it to justify his crimes.
Look at the wiki site.
Who left this bowl of onions here?!
*Shrek*
+15? lol
Hey! That's my mum's!
It's so sad that pretty much all his friends (and wife) are dead by the end.
Did anyone realize that the ending Haythan Kenway, he's in Assassin's Creed Rogue.
If you all remember from AC3, Haytham said something like "I saw this play once, As a boy, but I don't recall much of it". This was the exact play that he went to in this ending as a boy and at the beginning of AC3.
how was that a secret ending?
Lol
i thought it was going to be a little story book that showed edwards life
its a secret ending because he was there at the beging of 3
wyatt whitmer your an idiot edward is Haythams dad Connor from ac3's grandfather in the begining of ac3 Haytham says that the last time he wat in that opera house wat sith his father the ending of ac4 was that time he was there with his father ergo Edward Kenway Haythem Kenways father jesus or as edward would say jaysus man
wyatt whitmer what that guy who bombarded you with useless information meant to say was, its not really a secret ending it just rolls at the credits when you actually stay to look at them, I did and I saw it and its not really an ending in fact more like an epilogue.
I Love Edward Kenway !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By far the greatest and most moving ending to an AC game
Greatest? You clearly didn't see the assassins creed revelations ending
Totally didnt almost cry rewatching the ending
@@benc6297 Not to mention black flag is the *best* game.
Liek if yu crie evry tiem
I'm likely missing something here, which of these is the secret ending?
The one after the credits I suppose
the last one after credits it's not a secret ending it just happens they out it there nothing secret about that :/
From what I've seen I think it's actually the one where you are on the boat with Jennifer which only seems to be on the PC version.
Th3Darkgamer naw..the daughter is also on the xbox version
I guess it's just that some people turn off their system then when the credits roll and would miss the ending with Haytham.
AC3 was boring as hell
I want it to be in japan :D
We don't need another Splinter Cell. They should keep it like they have been Middle Ages and Ancient plus Early Modern Times
AC1 had the most interesting story to me and actually rewarded timing and skill... now its just hack and slash aimed for the more casual audience.. and do you think any of the later installments would have existed without AC1? What a stupid comment.
***** check the ratings and comments, AC1 is the least successful so NO, it wasn't a stupid comment. You however, are.
The music and trailer from 3:30 is for an actual game on tablet called Assassins Creed-Pirates
This ending touched my heart. I was sad that the game had ended. what a journey it had been to play Edward. Such a nice man he was. In the end it was so nice to get a glimpse of young Haytham.
another most rememorable endings in the history of gamming..!
this was like Red Dead Redemtion ending.. except for the part this was good ending..
hey at least you get to shoot the sob who killed your father in rdr
sam ashley yep.. but i felt sad where he sees all the pirates on the table and he even sees those who betrayed him despite the fact he never wanted them to betray him.. but hey! atleast he had his revenge..
aye i cried at that part xD
I loved the ending... until I read a synopsis of the book that comes after detailing the life of Haytham... It was really goddamn depressing to learn how SPOILERS
pointlessly Edward dies, and how Jennifer's life pretty much becomes a parade of horrors.
yeh i kind of thought i was reading it wrong but turns out some mercenarys or assassins did it -_-
Requires 100% completion to get Secret ending.
P.S. Templar is best outfit. Good for winter, cover neck for winds, cover hands. Just dont cover head which on cutscenes looks ridiculous how he wear invincible.
(I have not watched the entire video yet)
The secret ending (with Haytham) can still be seen without 100% completion. It's like the Shawarma scene in 'The Avengers'. If you wait through the credits you get something fun to enjoy.
HABBLOX I was joking.
***** nice
It doesnt he is trolling
Did u guys saw the flying chair on 7.02????
I love the song that plays when the credits are rolling. It reflects the game's ending so well

Imagine this ending with AC3 theme ..
Amazing story but outside of the animus sucked
True.
Boy_Scouts_For_Life i think it was a good story but they shouldnt have Made it "go get some papers and then jump back into the animus and get us some footage", shouldnt have Been third person either. I loved the twist with the sage. It was a huge build up for another assassin in real time
yea no one cares with the actual year without Desmond...
Boy_Scouts_For_Life modern day sucks
Anyone else notice the flying chair in the background at 7:00 ?
I wish they had a feature where you can replay missions and re-watch cutscenes.
How?
Go into the pause menu then you go to progress then select the mission you want to replay
Thanks for the tip.
your welcome :)
Thanks also for the info :D
No one mentioned anne bonny (Sarah green) singing the parting glass, it's an Irish song and I'm from ireland and also live in ireland. I guess that's why I'm the only one who said this.
This storyline is so crazy thats what I love about the assassins creed series, templars fighting for order and control, assassins fighting for true freedom, the fact that we were created by a higher race to serve them and adam and eve escaped to become the first free humans. Pretty trippy
