- This is the first video I've ever made for RUclips and what better way to kick off the channel than with a great all-rounder like the Skoda Octavia VRS, but is the 'IV' Plug-In Hybrid the one to go for in the range...?
Thanks to Bensound for the music used in this video www.bensound.com/royalty-free... Авто/Мото
really liked the video - excellent attention to detail, thanks
Cheers Dave and thanks for subscribing as much more to come!
Nice review. I’ve had mine for 12 months now as a company car and still very happy. I’m able to charge at home and have had 41 miles of electric range in summer with a careful right foot.
Thanks Scotty! That's amazing you got 41 miles out of it!
Great review, just every important point covered!
Glad you liked it!
Great information, not that I understand all the tech stuff but great overview. Its a very nice looking car
Thanks Marion. Hopefully it was useful for you!
I should have clarified in the video what a DSG Gearbox is - a direct-shift gearbox is an electronically-controlled, dual-clutch, multiple-shaft, automatic gearbox 👍
Nice one!!
Thank you Susan 😀
Good vid. Seems like a well spec'd car.
Thank you Wayne. Yes, the standard kit on the VRS IV is really all you need.
Nice vid - I loved my Octavia. 👍
Thanks Rob, glad you loved yours!
Nice vid. My experience so far with my 1.5tsi manual 2020 octavia is that I can do @850km with a full tank. Lowest I got was 4.3L/100 km (long drive with city traffic, open roads speeds from 50 to 130+km/h + AC on because it was summer) and highest was @13L/100km in heavy heavy traffic. I usually get @9-10L/100km in regular heavy traffic :)).
It could be that my Octavia came with Michelin Primacy 4 tires so that could be a factor. The plug-in and DSG also add in some extra weight so that's also too keep in mind.
All in all, a great practical car. Waiting on the next vid! 😉
Thanks for your comment Ciprian. Interesting to hear your figures on the 1.5tsi. I've also driven for a couple of weeks the 1.5tsi, but it was the automatic. I found the overall fuel economy to be very good for a petrol. At least 40 mpg (UK) as a minimum and decent performance. Keep an eye out for my follow up video on the Octavia VRS IV coming out soon.
Great review, thank you. Just saved me wasting money on one. As soon as you mentioned the radio system etc...that was it.
Thanks for the comment. Glad my review helped. Certainly if you were buying a used Skoda the infotainment will probably suck but I'd like to hope VW group have tweaked it since then!
Good job mate.
Have Skoda Kamiq and had probs with the info/entertainment system too. A software upgrade sorted it, it is not as complex as the one this Octavia.
Also agreed about the lane keeping and Engine off/on thing that has a default ON everytime you switch on. Very frustrating, Skoda told me the setting could not be reversed.
Thanks for the comment Alfie. I don't know how old your car is, but certainly Skoda's previous infotainment had less gremlins I believe!
Interesting commentary with a balanced viewpoint. Can you upgrade the infotainment system?
Thanks Jim. I assume you mean the software for the infotainment? This is in fact not Skoda's latest infotainment system (available in the Enyaq) so there will be updates to the system very soon from manufacture but you will be able to get over-the-air updates periodically.
