- it was 3+ hours of storms with severe weather NOT SURE IF THUNDER... OR BOMBS.
Massachusetts
The Bay State was hit hard as storms pounded the eastern part of the state with hail, high winds and heavy rainfall that flooded roads and brought power outages.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a brief tornado warning Wednesday afternoon for the Lynn area on Boston's North Shore when radar indicated a possible tornado. The NWS also said hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter was reported on the North Shore.
In Lynn, District Fire Chief Jack Barry said the city was hit by downpours, high winds, isolated tree damage and golf ball-sized hail. But he said there were no confirmed sightings of a funnel cloud there, and no damage to indicate any destructive, sustained wind
Strong pop-up thunderstorms moved across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic on Wednesday afternoon, just in time for the evening rush hour. New York City, Washington D.C., and Massachusetts all reported heavy rain, hail, high winds, and power outages.
There is still a chance of thunderstorms Thursday, but not as severe as Wednesday. A cool down in temperatures is on the way for the beginning of the weekend.
* Massive airport delays across the Northeast were reported on Wednesday
* Nearly 123,000 people are without power in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Ohio.
* Large hail was reported in Boston and New York City Наука
Severe storms producing some threatening clouds that will produce some threat and violence of thunder and very dangerous CG Lightning
Commenting 1/15/20 at 6am EST....just about 3/4s of a decade later now.....I remember the violent widespread severe Tstorm all over the NorthEast...from 7/18/12...South Weymouth MA had a monster Tstorm with 15 minutes of back-to-back closeby CGs/huge crashes...even more spectacular than the one from Orlando FL from 7/15/11....as I got that onto audiotape from that very video..same with this video right here too.......Even I had a decent CG-bolt videotaped from southern RI on video....on RUclips.....2012 and 20015 were real active severe Tstorms during the Tstorm seasons..even here in southern RI..despite the TSTDSBs((TSTorm Depleting Sea Breezes))....and 2019 was another active season...I got a very closeby CG bolt on 11/27/19...so late in the year too...amazing...! Incredible on the live news reports on the current severe weather from 7/18/12.
This is exactly what I was looking for
Thanks for the upload
thumbs up if you scrolled across the timeline and watched the cloud lapse in the little window.
I meant ''2015'' --not ''20015'' my TYPOs again...and again...love the tons of thunder heard at 10:00 into this amazing video.
I live in New York and I was just in a severe thunderstorm. The thunder was so loud!
Nice video! Im obsessed with boston! :) I wanna visit soon!!
We had a tornado come through here as well.Terryville,Ct
I learned something that day that if you use video game handhelds during a lightning storm, it can possibly attract the lightning and if you are inside, it can come through the window and destroy the game console and possibly kill you.
Don't confuse Storm Prediction Center chances...that was a 2% chance of a warning.
I live in Springfield MA and we missed it but the clouds were really scary looking. I saw something that looked like a funnel cloud but I really didn't wanna say anything cause I didn't know if it was one or not and I didn't really know for sure
Commenting 1/17/20 at 630am..I feel the severe inconveniences on the heavy rain/wind soaking up the precious camcorder...I always keep my own precious camcorder far AWAY from the wind-driven rains while videoing my own Tstorms...to enhance the lightning and thunder quality videos.....like my own wesomed severe Tstorm-videos on 7/28/15, 8/4/15 and many from 2019.... Anyways...this is an incredible train-effect/backward-building set of severe Tstorms....which I had and audiotaped on 7/3/84, 6/26/88 and 10/15/89......((wish camcorders and RUclips existed way back then..))..I am putting all of this amazing video onto audiotape....and I love channel 7's news with Chris Lambert heard too....so I can listen to the thunder while working on my beloved R-rated comics.
Good to hear, Shawn....and yiehss....4/8/22...my place here in southern RI was on the northwestern edge of the batch of the early-season big big predawn Tstorms...as all I got was a few good flashers and rumblers...but you're so right... western Cape Cod and also Plymouth MA got the meat of those flashy Tstorms..of which I saw the pretty decent faint lightning off to my SE with distant rumblers...
I actually have a video of the tornado warning alert, coming soon!
Another weather vid taken on my bday :) God we could use a storm like that here in Indy....
nice vid!
Was that a weather radio issuing a severe weather alert at 1:40 or so? It sounded like it. I bought one of those from Radio Shock in 2011. It really does the job when severe weather comes around! I even take it with me when I go on vacation out of state and it works wherever I go. Comes in handy especially when you go to states which have severe weather like in or neat the infamous "tornado alley." This is an awesome video. Those look like some menacing storm clouds!
kenpalmer1965 that was my phone And I got a text message. Thanks for watching. I have a fire scanner that goes off when I'm under a warning and my phone to
I think he meant don't delete from RUclips.
were was the action?? I went and watched and didn't see or hear anything. I wasted a lot of my time on this one.
it was my birthday
florida is 10x worse we have atleast one tornado a week
I believe the 2 stands for a 20% chance of a tornado within a fifty mile radius.
jerry baker sr. no it was just a 2% chance of a tornado. if it was 20% we would been fucked
You're absolutely right, a 2 on the TorCon indicates a 20% chance of a tornado. Not 2% like this genius thinks it is.
