@sajadhoxhaj6603 So goddamn funny. His thoughts on his brothers were some of the best stuff in this new book IMO. Him genuinely missing Russ, to him thinking about using shadows as Kurze did or him actively taking time to plan like G man would. Its such good development from the man who once punched a sons head off for daring to offer an opposing opinion
@@knowmoremutantsI find funny that he thought about Guilliman as infuriating, seems they both had the ability to get under each other's skin although Lion was better at pretending that was not the case.
I think it's interesting that every other psyker refers to the warp as an ocean or body of water, and it's represented in the forest as a river. It kind of implies that the Lion and Emperor are actually in some parallel space like the webway. The Emperor's great work was modifying the webway to make it suitable for human travel, and when Magnus broke into the throne room, he did so through the webway. The Emperor sitting in the forest on the bank of the river (the warp), keeping the shadows in the water at bay almost perfectly fits with him sitting on the golden throne keeping the hole in the webway closed. The webway reflects the mind and emotions of those who travel through it, so it would make sense that, to the Lion, it would appear as Caliban. It's also likely no coincidence that Vashtor re-built Caliban to act as a key to the webway. This is likely building up to a narrative around who controls the webway. All culminating in the return of a certain primarch who has been lost in the webway for 10,000 years.
Damn, dude just gave us the lore for the next few editions. Quick question, I think it’s safe to say the Emperor’s Children will be coming back, and so will Fulgrim. Will they be at all involved with this, or are they just gonna be doing there own weird orgy things elsewhere?
@cadettrev762 I would suspect the Emperor's Children will be very important in the fight over the webway. Fulgrim may even return to the setting for that very reason. Abaddon and Vashtor now have a key into the webway, and the aeldar use the webway to hide from Slaanesh. Fulgrim will probably attack Abaddon's fleet to gain access to the webway so he can do unspeakable things to their souls. The khan probably shows up at some point, and they have a Lion v. Angron style duel and GW prints money by selling two new primarch models and a campaign series of books just like Arks of Omen.
Nah wouldn't make much sense. The Webway gets accessed through physical portals while the warp is all around everyone at all times which makes more sense.
Well, if the Eldar/Old Ones and the Emperor could both make an extra-dimensional space that existed in, but was separate from, the Warp then there isn't much reason why another group couldn't do the same. It's entirely possible that this forest dimension is the Watcher's take on a webway. If the Watchers were originally from Caliban, maybe the way they ended up interacting with the Warp was to create this webway fashioned after the look and feel of their own world, but theirs never got blown apart by the birth of a god or a misguided son. Any race powerful enough to create its own pocket dimension that interacts with both the warp and reality, but is separate from both should probably scare the shit out of a daemon, so it makes some sense. Is it in some way related to the the Emperor's webway project? I don't think so, but perhaps the Emperor bumped into it when making his own, or maybe met the watchers on Caliban and consulted with them on what he was doing. Or maybe, since the forest domain seems to have reflections of both the warp and real space, and seems connected somehow to both. Maybe the watchers noticed the Emperor's work or the Emperor himself being reflected in their own construct and met or interacted with him that way. I mean, it didn't exactly sound like the Emperor was fully existing in the forest domain. It was more like he and the other very powerful warp entities were reflected or represented in the forest. IF the Emperor had created this place, I would have expected him to have more agency and control in it. That's just my opinion though.
Its pretty great that GW addressed the whole "Killing the Emperor will revive him" theory. They're like "We know about it, it makes sense, but nah its not gonna happen".
The bigger one was with Cypther. After escaping his imprisonment, he fought all the way to right outside Big E's door but was stopped by a Custodian who the Emperor spoke through and asked him not to kill the Emperor. Cypher was like "why should I listen" to which thr Emperor said "not yet". Cypher accepted this and left So actually it like dying to become a god is part of the Emperor's plan, but its currently too soon for that to happen
The problem with just “killing Big E” is that the Talisman of Seven Hammers will activate and destroy the Sol System. Giving true death to everyone in range. Including Big E and whoever revived him. Meaning the effort will always be pointless until the Talisman is deactivated or the Moon is destroyed

First 40k novel? You have so many good books out there to read, man. Especially the Horus Heresy novels, they are what got me into 40k back in like 2007 when they started. Most of them are really good and there are so many of them. Same here it was my first Warhammer 40k novel as well, and it got me to start listing to novels as well. I have listened to most of what people recommend, and I have to say the lion novel is the best 40k novel out there.
@@joshleenall after watching embarrassing amounts of hours of Horus heresy lore videos in the short amount of time I’ve been into Warhammer, I thought I’d start from a more recent point😅
The end of the book has one of my favourite interactions. Kurze: "Atleast I knew which of my sons deserved to die." Lion: "They all did!" Kurze: "And I knew that."
I loved every interaction the Lion had with the Redeemed. He had to put in effort in gaining their loyalty. He was even going to leave them alone if they refused to join him in defending humanity. His lack of interest in ruling was a big part of why many of his lost sons joined his side. Because defending humanity is hardcoded into every Knight of Caliban.
And then he went out of his way to, at the risk of his own life, to save them during the final battle of the book. Really shows how much he's grown, as heresy era Lion would have sacrificed them to win that fight
@@jmm2461 I'm assuming the OP is referring to the game Diablo 2, in which the paladin character has a skill called Smite. The skill is essentially a shield bash that does damage and stuns the target. It's a strong skill that scales very well with gear, and paladins specializing in the skill become stunlock machines that run around bonking everything in the face. Smiter paladin is a very popular build that is generally considered overpowered in most of the game's content.
So fun fact, the whole „asking the right question“ is a reference to an old tale thats part of the King Arthur Stories, called Parcifal. In the story a boy meets an old dying king with his knights around him and the only thing that can heal him, the boy doesn’t ask him and carries on with his journey. Then after a long heroes journey he returns to this old dying king and asks him „was wehet dir oheim“ which means „whats hurting you uncle“. The king regains his strength and it is revealed that this king is king arthur. Quite a nice read
This is something I theorized when listening to Wolf Lord Roe go over a few of the primaris stories and how they act differently in comparison to first born even if they are marines that crossed the rubicon primarus. The primaris marines are more in tune with their gene-fathers true nature. When an already established Ultramarine took the procedure and had to slog through rough wilderness with a mix of marines and guardsmen he resented being held back by humans limitations and was then shocked to even have the thought. This seems in line with Giliman and his obsession over efficiency he feels held back by baseline humans. With the dark angels on the other hand, when a primaris stood amongst the leaders of his fleet interrogating a woman. The others were fine with her dying from exposure as long as they got their information the primaris marine ripped the cloak from his commanders back to warm her. I think this is the true nobility of the Lion taking root in his sons once again. The lion was secretive and brutal in the crusades because that was what was needed to perform his central role and root desire to protect humanity.
The Watchers working directly with the Emperor is actually a pretty huge development. They're incredibly powerful little dudes who make chaos daemons flee just from their very presence. It's always been assumed that they were doing their own thing but if they protected the Lion and the DA in general on the Emperors orders that would drastically change their importance. Could even mean that since they didn't stop Vashtorr from getting the techulcha engine that it could be part of Big Es plan.
Or that’s outside their orders, imagine if they are anti-demons, forces of pure order. If that is they case they will do what you say to the letter but nothing more so if their orders are “Protect the 1st Legion” then they will protect the Dark Angels and the Lion but not help them fight chaos.
I feel like their connection has more to do with the Key, the Lock and the Door and all that "Xeno form subrealm activation" technology. They were in Caliban long before the Lion, so their actual connection could easily even trace back to the Old Ones, the Webway and the Eldar. Their connection to the Emperor could be only that they know eachother and they are allies to the actual cause that the First Legion exists. Given that Erda decided to drop him there is no mistake either.
That was because of the Warp tainting Realspace around the palace. By that point, Terra was almost a daemon world, what with Daemons manifesting all Willy nilly.
I love the idea of a Primarch Boss Rush. I'm imagining Lorgar as the tutorial, Mortarion as the notorious damage sponge, and Sanguinius as Nightmare Mode.
The emperor was definitely worried about Cerafax because he was probably aiming for Dante - and as we know the prophecy of Dante is to stand directly infront of the emperor as I’m sure Tzeentch would have told him about that.
The emperor wants the lion to find the shards of Sanguineus's soul and bring his body to the imperial throne. In order to bring back the great angel. This is could be the case as the blood angels need a boost after their recent battles against the tyranids and Chaos. Imperial secundus 2.0
But I thought Sanguineus was split into 3 Mephiston, Dante and the Sanguinor I always figured the three of them would sacrifice themselves just before the nids reach the emperor and bam Sanguineus comes back to fuck up the nids
@@JJJBunney001My brother soul is split on various parts just as Magnus soul I don't know why my father would want that knowing he is the only one who isn't a goddam mad man to create a primarch
I feel like the Watchers woke him in some sort of understanding with the Emperors will. As for his Forestwalk ability; it could have been gifted to him by the Watchers as they saw he would need to be able to get around quickly and they refer to the place as their own home. There is also the possibility that Luther's chaos-fueled mind bullets awakened some dormant ability he already had. I was a bit worried they might power Lion down by aging him up, but much of that book was Lion shaking the rust off and getting back to form. He is pretty much back in shape by the time he fights Angron so im not worried about him getting arthritis or anything. Horus looked ancient by the time he fought the Emperor and he wasn't held back. I have a feeling like he's going to let Azrael run the DAs day-to-day while he heads strike missions where he's needed most.
The aging the Primarchs go through is superficial only. They look older but none of their strength or ability is actually degraded by "age". Even Guiliman has aged since he woke up.
Honestly the introduction of the dark angels in Descent of Angels would be the perfect way to soft introduce a prim arch and how planets came into the imperium fold in a tv adaptation. I wonder if that’s what Cavill will be doing…
I think (and hope) that the show will stay as far away from marines as possible. We saw it in Infinity war, helmetless power armor look goofy af in live action
I am hoping with the lion returning the legions start to reform, with all the shit GW is throwing into the setting it gets to a point where you need to ask: why are 1000 man chapters holding the imperium together?
I mean, they kind of do. Ultramarines in the Indominus Crusade and Plaguewars, Blood Angel at Baal and now the Dark Angels at Vashtorrs Caliban. On the other Hand there are hundreds of Chapters with either mixed Geneseed or Successor of Traitor Legions, where´s their Place?
Guilliman called all the successor chapters back to the ultramarines when he woke up. He realized that splitting them up may have been the right thing to do 10 thousand years ago but the modern needs of the imperium demanded he reform them. Dante did it as well when the Nids attacked Baal.
The Dark Angeles never really stopped being a Legion. The chapters effectively operate as Companies under the umbrella organization that is The First Legion. I think they way forward is hybrid of the more specialized chapters operating under a larger command structure if the Legion. The chapters can better pool resources together, better communication and overall enforcement of regulations. Maybe each Legion tweaking the Codex to suit them.
So.... He was wounded by a "sibling" who betrayed him. Woke up when his people needed him most. He have met with the fisher kin.... I mean the king in the lake. Pulled the sword from the stone. Obtained an incredibely holy artifact. And there are knights and stuff...... Is it just me or this sounds familiar? (By the way now I have 3 favourite primarchs)
Are the Watchers possibly the Warp Shadows of the council of Psykers that sacrificed themselves to bring the Emperor into existence? They seem to act as extensions of his will and can act more freely than he can.
I've always wondered if they're maybe a creation of the Old Ones. The Watchers have seemed (to me) to become more active with the return and ruse of the Necrons. imo
I felt the same way you do about the lions power. It's like he is a walking access key to his own personal web ways, where he is in the warp but shielded by the corruption
The imagery and symbolism of the lake, Emps on a boat, and circling dark shapes is really creepy and very effective. It's like his little pocket dimension is to the warp what the warp is to realspace. Things from other dimensions can cast shadows in it, and it's implied they can act in it too under certain circumstances
I've been following Warhammer 40k lore for years now but it's been mainly through certain websites, tv tropes, and youtube. The Lion: Son of the Forest is the first ever Warhammer 40k book I've ever read, and I loved it! I can't wait for what happens next!
The Emperor does have a degree of foresight (possible paths rather than absolute certainties) so he may have put the pistol where it was knowing that the Lion would (or might) take it much later on.
@@ew264 That's the same thing. He can't see the actual future, only possibilities. So he may have hoped his plan for a transcendent humanity would unfold as designed but he may have also seen the Horus Heresy and put the pistol (and many many other things) where it was in case it didn't work out. It brings together the idea that he could see the future (or futures, plural) but also not be able to prevent his plans from being ruined.
@@RichardStrong86 His plans werent ruined. Theyre playing out as intended. Still he can see the actual future as its one of the possibilities hes seeing. His power is way above people who can see the ”actual” future since he can also see what he can do to change it.
@@ew264 He admits to not knowing the exact path to take to the futures he sees. This is canon. He may be able to see those futures but he doesn't know exactly that what he does will lead to that specific future. I don't think this is at all as he wanted, it's just a possibility he had considered and likely prepared for the eventuality. This is why he apparently can both see the future and also seem to make mistakes.
I think Cypher has a similar ability to the lion in terms of forest walking as it would explain how he was able to appear and disappear at will. We know Astartes can gain powers from there primarch albeit in a weaker form (a number of raven guard gained a weaker version of Coraxes wraith slip ability)
Hopefully they don't make them be that odds with each other. That would be lame. Another potential civil war between Primarchs would be such a let down. I want them to come together and whup some ass!
I'll have to look around to remember exact details, but The Lion's encounters with the Emperor are highly reminiscent of the story of "The Wounded King" or "The Fisher King" (I forget which). A king has been dealing with a wound when he is visited by one of King Arthur's knights (again, I forget which and will try to find out). During the visit, he sees a precession carrying a spear; a grail (where the Holy Grail quests end up coming from), and one other item. But he does not ask as he does not wish to risk being rude. Only to be informed later that him asking would have helped heal the king.
Yep and we outright have those same three items before the Emperor in this book. So between that, Lion pulling a sword from a stone, and the Fallen all having Arthurian inspired names, they really went hard with the Arthurian Legends theming in this book
Also the book had a green knight stand in, complete with the ability to survive being decapitated and wielding an axe. So even working in some more obscure Arthurian lore
btw, the type of shield on the emperors pauldron is called a "tilting shield", because they were used in tilting. Better known as the horseback lancing contest during a medieval joust. The point of these shields was protecting the otherwise unarmored arm pit and neck from splinters from the lance. which is why they were concave, bending away from the knight's body, in an attempt of deflecting the incoming lance to the side
Much of medieval armor was meant to deflect blows because glancing hits transferred less energy to the knight, and you could fight longer and better. Also, the hit to the tilting shield was worth extra points
POV you are Vashtorr the Archifane: "Ah, free at last. Creature of Steel, my gratitude upon thee for my freedom, but the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity ARE NOT forgotten. And thy punishment IS DEATH!" "DIE!!!" *sound of metal being instantly crushed*
Man if we got a Lion going on a forest walk and running into the Soul of Sanguinius in the warp and having a chat and Sanguinius giving him som3 knowledge and a message for his sons would be amazing and a payback for Dante reuniting the Lion with his Legion.
I think its the emperors damaged web way. Vulcan passed through it no reason the Lion can't. Since magnus breached the web way there is bad stuff in their. Remember the emperor wasn't done making it when it was damaged, that's not the same as having no plan to defend it or repair it if it got busted. Big e has been busy over 10k years
I'm glad you said what you did about the Emperor's Shield and the sizing being way too off to be the same shield as seen in the artwork of the Emperor and then the Lion. It was bugging me that some people were saying it was when the Lion's artwork was released, I was like "there's no way. right? or am i crazy?" Great vid!
Hey majorkill I think a great video idea or maybe a Mother’s Day video would be a deep dive on Tarashe Euten, you know Guillimom? I just think it would be cool to see how not super combative characters can still majorly influence the 40k galaxy.
I think it was the Dark Angels who were the Adeptus Astartes who participated in the killing of the Thunder Warriors. They were the first Space Marines so it makes sense.
Nah, Sanginius is dead. I and many others are ready to 'convince' GW with our Fists to make sure that never happens Sangy and Horus are DEAD. Deal with it, pussy
@johanstinson The difference is Horus's soul has been completely destroyed. We know Sanguinius' is still active because he revived Dante, and Curze MAY have had an Eldar spirit stone in his crown.
@RoninOCE I realize that but I stand by what I said. Dead Primarchs need to stay dead or as peripheral characters. Just my opinion. Although, that said. The idea of Kurze coming back and tracking down every Night Lord and slaughtering them makes me feel some kind of way. He hates his sons, so he would definitely do that and that would be a very cool storyline
@@johanstinson Imo the only dead Primarchs that should return are Ferrus, Who has been cloned by Fulgrim a fuckload of times, with Trazyn actually getting one of them & Konrad because he just kinda gave up, it was a shit death. IF Sanguinius returns in some form, it'll be at that moment where Dante finally dies on Terra.
Could the forest be the webway that the emperor was building in the HH, Or at least technology based on the original one. Some food for thought, but would explain why he has so much influence over the realm.
The ability to basically wormhole travel huge distances feels like an insane power, especially as it's not even just limited to him but those around him (not that a single Primarch couldn't do real damage by himself). It also seems you get real time instant communication with others in there, although I'm curious if the comms are essentially unsecured and Chaos knows what is being spoken. Still, there's some cool stuff that can be explored in either case. Still, the fact 1 character can pass physical things to another in this space, and the Lion himself (with others) can travel across it super fast, is an incredible gift to the Imperium. I also wonder if this is warp gate v2.0 after Magnus wrecked version 1. What if the Emperor has found a way to slice off a piece of the warp now that both he and Chaos are more empowered. Sure, right now it retains some loose connection to it, but that might explain why he's been busy and seems to have ultimate power here (certainly more than Chaos), alongside the Astronomican ofc.
Getting a video about how each of the pre Heresy primarchs would have reacted to being in Guillimans situation as imperial regent would be pretty cool ngl. ( Sorry I'm late today guys, was busy and didn't have my phone )
A thing I wanna know is how come when the Blood Angels dropped in to save the Dark Angels on Wyrmwood why did the Lion Forestwalk instead of just landing with them?
When I got into warhammer Guilliman had just woken up so he is my favourite Primarch and now so is the Lion. Sanguinius however will always be my top pick for Primarch because he’s a glorious angelic hawk boy with Vampiric sons

As a long time Dark Angels fan, I absolutely LOVED the Lion Son of the Forest book and its story. It was exactly what I have always wanted the Lion and the Fallen to be. The Lion is the Knight he was always meant to be, a actually decent guy for 40k standards, and a true protector for Humanity. Forgiving loyalist Fallen, and being understanding, patient and forgiving in general. I absolutely love what he has become. That book made me more hyped to be a Dark Angel/Fallen fan than ever! For Caliban, for the Lion, and for the Emperor!!!
Seraphax was trying to use a puppeteered body and gain an Imperial audience to... ... yeah, kinda fortunate Bobby G decided against letting Cypher see the Emperor.
Yeah but someone trusted enough to actually get that private audience, even if Gman did decide to let Cypher in, it would've been under his own escort as well as a dozen custodes.
I had bo idea there was a cannon reason the emporer did not want to be revived right now. You briefly covered why, but having a lore video covering it more in depth would be great.
The real question is. Are the watchers direct messengers of the emperor? Chaos fear them and the changeling straight up ran from one and they woke the lion up when he was needed by the emperium as guilliman stabilized it first allowing for a strike back with the lion
They might be some of the OG Warp entities before the whole thing became a hellish realm due the War in Heaven, before that seems it was a chill place and probably not devoid of its own native beings, maybe the Watchers among them.
They only have attachment to lion and calaban. I assume he made deals with many different entities for a variety. Each of his sons basically have god like aura unless you're angron. A watcher's soul is in the lion and it's why he can detect chaos so easily and well. Also would explain why the watcher's are so attached to him and his home.
I like the idea that The Emperor has the surviving loyalist Primarchs in his pocket, so to speak, and is only putting them in play when absolutely necessary. So they aren't 'lost' so much as they are 'in reserve'. This adds a whole new dimension to the 5D chess (literally) that the Emperor is playing against Chaos. He's not going to make the same mistake that he did in the Crusade/Heresy by showing his hand fully at the start and then being unable to react to their countermove.
Yo, question: before I proceed past the spoiler warning, how strongly would you recommend the new Lion book (presumably The Lion: Son of the Forest)? I read The Infinite and the Divine on your recommendation and loved it, same for the Ciaphas Cain books. If you tell me that the Lion book is at or approaching that level of quality, I'm gonna buy and read it before I listen to this video.
Alright, y'all convinced me. I bought it 5 minutes ago. @MrFallenone (or whoever), do you have any other recommendations? I've enjoyed the WH40k books I've read so far and want more, but I'm hesitant to wade blindly into the ungodly huge and mixed-quality body of work that is WH40k fiction.
A very good game setting: a starting area that teaches the player and rewards for improving. Then, after finishing the questline, you open the real game map (the galaxy) and receive a new questline (save humanity), which must be accomplished with the tools the player gained in the tutorial.
I will keep asking for this because if there's one thing that all 40k factions have it's stubborness. Could you make a video on how someone could *permanently* kill one of the 4 chaos gods and (more interestingly) what would happen if they did ?
So about the Lion, Big E, and the question. This is a clear reference too The Arthurian legend of Percival and the Fisher King. Where the king was wounded by a spear and Percival could heal it if he asked the right question. Depending on translation the question was either "What has wounded you?" or "to whom does the Grail serve?"
The lion book is great listened to it a few weeks ago I have a new found fondness of the dark angels even though I got tabled twice by a dark angels player
i think this book probably confirms that all of the primachs must have some innate psychic power just that they dont all have the knowledge of what it is.
I argee with your theory but I would add that the great rift is a major factor. The Emperor is gaining pyshic power from it and now has enough to awaken or insruct the watchers in the dark awaken the Lion.
Or it overlapses. Emperor gets believe for 10k years. And is becoming strong enough to act. So Chaos starts another game, like in times of Heresy. Doesn't exclude your statement. The chaos is opportunity. It can destroy E. But at the same time makes it easier to act THX to immaterium bleeding to reality.

Angron style duel and GW prints money by selling two new primarch models and a campaign series of books just like Arks of Omen.
ooo this is actually kinda lit
I'll say this, the primarch lost in the webway was mentioned in ashes of Prospero as a storm riding a lightning carriage... I think we know who is he.
It would be interesting if the Forest Dimension is tangentially related to the Emperor’s failed Webway project.
Especially if Abbadong gets access to it with the arks of omen goodies
It very well could be that they are tangentially linked. Caliban may have once had a being that was linked to the first webway.
Or what it is in the bequin books the area between the warp and realspace

One thing this book shows that I really like is that the lion still hasn’t fully gotten over sanguinius’ death.
Who would?
How could he? For him it literally just happened
Cypher accepted this and left
So actually it like dying to become a god is part of the Emperor's plan, but its currently too soon for that to happen
Yeah but wouldn’t that temporarily have some effects. I don’t want to imagine the psychic backlash
@@eotwkdpnot to mention the emperor on the throne keeps that warp rift in the basement from opening.
The problem with just “killing Big E” is that the Talisman of Seven Hammers will activate and destroy the Sol System. Giving true death to everyone in range. Including Big E and whoever revived him. Meaning the effort will always be pointless until the Talisman is deactivated or the Moon is destroyed

Most of them are really good and there are so many of them. Check them out if you want more to read (unless by "first ever 40k novel" you weren't including the HH novels since they are technically 30k I guess, whatever).
Same here it was my first Warhammer 40k novel as well, and it got me to start listing to novels as well. I have listened to most of what people recommend, and I have to say the lion novel is the best 40k novel out there.

The Lion using that shield to smash the shapeshifting boss is proof that he is a Smiter. Which explains why he´s so OP.
This is going to go over alot of peoples heads

@@FormerGovernmentHuman can someone explain?

I kind of like it that the Lion is now a Grimdark variant of the Green Knight. Always showing up when needed and kicking Chaos Ass :D
The Green Knight didn't even do much in End Times which he lost
Giles and Inbred, Retarded Bretonnia aren't in AOS
Archaon is now a Chaos God in AOS
Great video as always! A video on how each of the primarchs would react to the modern imperium if they were in Guillimans place would be dope
In the new Siege of Terra book there's similar things happening. Garviel Loken travels miles in seconds and doesn't know how it happens...
Thats because the warp got into the palace and started screwing with the real space.
That was because of the Warp tainting Realspace around the palace. By that point, Terra was almost a daemon world, what with Daemons manifesting all Willy nilly.
@@TheCorrodedMan That doesn't explain why Loken keeps on arriving just where he's supposed to be at the right time.

@@fuchsmichael93 Ultramarines

Are the Watchers possibly the Warp Shadows of the council of Psykers that sacrificed themselves to bring the Emperor into existence? They seem to act as extensions of his will and can act more freely than he can.
That's how I've always viewed them
That theory is as good as any other
I've always wondered if they're maybe a creation of the Old Ones.
The Watchers have seemed (to me) to become more active with the return and ruse of the Necrons.
imo
I felt the same way you do about the lions power. It's like he is a walking access key to his own personal web ways, where he is in the warp but shielded by the corruption
Makes me wonder about that quote regarding only one of the Primarchs being incorruptible from the beginning
The emperor has complete foresight. He can see every possible future. Seeing a certain future is impossible as you can change it.
@@ew264 This is false. His foresight is not perfect, its implied as such many times in the Horus Heresy novels.

"HE DID WHAT WITH THE WHAT?"🤣
I'll have to look around to remember exact details, but The Lion's encounters with the Emperor are highly reminiscent of the story of "The Wounded King" or "The Fisher King" (I forget which).
The king is called the Fisher King, and the knight in question is Percival.
@@patrick_j_lee Thank you very much

btw, the type of shield on the emperors pauldron is called a "tilting shield", because they were used in tilting.

I think its the emperors damaged web way. Vulcan passed through it no reason the Lion can't. Since magnus breached the web way there is bad stuff in their. @RoninOCE I realize that but I stand by what I said. Dead Primarchs need to stay dead or as peripheral characters.

3:22 so basically the lion has is own mini version of the webway

It could be a Webway route but not the Emperors as at the moment its still overwhelmed with demons as far as I am aware.
Y'know, this would make for an incredible animated series. Someone contact Dave Filoni
Glad u gave a clear headed perspective on all this lion rebirth stuff.
Easy.. Yvraine said to Guilliman: I give you back your Mon-Keigh brother, and you give me a child in return ;)

The real question is. Are the watchers direct messengers of the emperor? Chaos fear them and the changeling straight up ran from one and they woke the lion up when he was needed by the emperium as guilliman stabilized it first allowing for a strike back with the lion
They are ancient. Older than the Emperor so no.
They might be some of the OG Warp entities before the whole thing became a hellish realm due the War in Heaven, before that seems it was a chill place and probably not devoid of its own native beings, maybe the Watchers among them.
I think the watchers aren't servant of the emperor, they are merely natural allies in that they also despise chaos.
They probably have a deal with the emperor to fight chaos, since the emperor speaks that the warp and the materium were once in balance.
You must feel really proud to have your own minis, great job man!
This lines up with my theory of how the warp entities the emperor made a deal with are the watchers in the dark.
My moneys on the Watchers being the worshippers of the "god-soul" of the Lion, Explains why they help the Dark Angels exclusively.
Can’t wait for the Lion to meet up with Cypher, that will be interesting!
Day 34 asking for lional heresy
I personally highly recommend it.
Its in the TOP 5 WH books I read and I read the entire HH series.
The best part of waking up is majorkill update on RUclips is it seriously the first thing I did when I woke up I fear I may be an addict😅
Could the Forest be his personification of the webway?
A very good game setting: a starting area that teaches the player and rewards for improving. Then, after finishing the questline, you open the real game map (the galaxy) and receive a new questline (save humanity), which must be accomplished with the tools the player gained in the tutorial.
Would be nice if Commander Farsight handed the Lion the dawnblade
Holy major mini advertisement that took forever to skip
It’s nice to watch a video where I have actually read the book and know the lore he is talking about (I am a new Warhammer fan) 👍
I love how on the nose this novel is with the Emperor appearing as The Fisher King to the Lion ( His Knight).
There is even a (subverted) Green Knight plot
It was me, I did.
I recommend a video about the brief childhood of the Primarchs, in how it shaped them and specific moments.
Majorkill we need a video on how each of the loyalist primarchs would’ve reacted to being in gullimans postition and leading the imperium
Malcador's relationship with each Primarch would be a cool video ngl(I'm not stopping either).
Cool vid majorkill
I really enjoy the way this lore is explained
The lion book is great listened to it a few weeks ago I have a new found fondness of the dark angels even though I got tabled twice by a dark angels player
Uploading at midnight
You legend
I want more lion books GW, RIGHT NOW
Awesome video on some new lore! Thanks for sharing and g'day!
Y'all reckon the Watchers are like Mimikyu and they're all horrifying eldritch bastards under those cute little hoods?
perfect. i just made myself my daily burrito and new majorkill hits. and lion on top. cheers.
i think this book probably confirms that all of the primachs must have some innate psychic power just that they dont all have the knowledge of what it is.
