The Lion can walk from one point of Caliban to the other. My theory is that because Caliban blew up and chunks of it ended up all over the Galaxy, The Lion can Forestwalk to any planet that has a chunk of Caliban on it.
Well this is a much better explanation than the other one I received and makes me like this more. Though I still have some significant complaints. The bad guy win is postponed as long as GW wants because he needs to "find the lock", Luthor and Cypher were nowhere to be seen, and he just... slapped the planetary debris together like a jigsaw puzzle? Also, I am gonna need some answers to "Oh he's been awake for a while and can also teleport"
They have enough plot for a dozen more books. I'm glad they aren't rushing it. The recent story for Magic the Gathering was very rushed and suffered as a result.
Just from a first glance, without reading the book, we can assume that Vashtorr just needed to create a new core for the planet. The gravitational pull of the core would be powerful enough to pull the parts of the planet together, kinda like how the Earth pulls meteorites towards it. As for the Lion getting teleportation powers, yea, the Warp and being surrounded by hundreds of powerful artefacts on the Rock tends to do that. The fact that the Lion was awake for a while without being noticed isn't that much of a surprise. He grew up in the wilderness of Caliban, he's extremely secretive, and he was in the Nihilis sector. He's not the kind of character to immediately make his presence known either.
The fact that the alpha legion came by and took the fragment from commander farsight is just exactly what those gremlins would do. THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS
Say what you will about this writing choice BUT; I actually liked Vashtorr and Be'lakor fighting each other. It shows yet again that Chaos will cannibalise itself constantly and makes uniting them even more impressive
I heard about how the Farsight Omens book had a chaos leader trying to keep control of all the different groups, as they frequently kept wandering off to do their own thing.
@@SWProductions100 That is a (properly) recurring problem that keeps Chaos from getting big wins much of the time. Happened during the Seige of Terra, during the Black Crusades, in that book, it's just a constant 'leading cracked out cats with ADHD' problem.
Same, maybe even have a whole plotline of Farsight having to struggle against more and more temptation, and sometimes failing to fully resist it, yet never quite losing it all, and eventually managing to turn his back on Khorne
I really enjoyed Arks of Omen for the most part. Especially all the Chaos love and not having Vashtorr get curbstomped by the named Imperial character of the week. It felt like GW learned from some of the writing mistakes they made during The Gathering Storm and tried again, trying to avoid those mistakes which I think they did for the most part. Yes,The Lion is back but that isn't an insta-fix and The Imperium is still a rotting carcass of an empire, despite Guillimans efforts. Overall,I'm happy and looking forward to 10th!
Video idea: discussing the Imperial Navy & it’s major ship classifications and major battlefleets, and/or the Space Marine Battle Barges and it’s major ship classifications
Blood Angels: "Oi, cousins, behold!" [A magnificent armored man smash teleports into the battlefield] [All the Dark Angels are simultaneously energized by the sensation of the most righteous stim cocktail never invented (yet)] [Angron's buzz is insta-killed] Oh yeah, it's time to party like it's the 32nd Millennium.
I really want Vashtorr to win, he's my favorite now! It would shake up the setting so much! What I'd do is make this a HUGE set back for the Ruling 4, as Tens of millions of Soul Grinder Demons are recalled to serve Vashtorr and the Realm of Soul Forge expands a bit. Now the other gods would make a huge break for Vashtorr, trying to take him down, but so much shit is going on amongst themselves and their forces, not to mention the awakening of the Lion and you know what? fuck it, Emps should make a move and spook em real good. I'd give Vastorr a Doctor Doom type feel, where he has a comparatively smaller realm within the warp, but he's got Quality, all his Chaos gear is top notch, all his forces are in order and do what he says like clockwork. Vashtorr gets settled in, the Ruling 4 are setback and salty, the Imperium starts breaking out the big guns, The Lion is back, and this whole debacle could even set up a way for the next one to return. So after this huge cluster fuck happens, everyone more or less balances out, but now with Vashtorr present, The Rift would intensify, adding even MORE Psychic might to Humanity and despite the new contender, the Chaos Gods and the Emperor whould become more potent overall. All the factions would respond of course, but since 10th is about the Nids, specifically Leviathan, this would make way for my favorite Fleet; Kronos to get a spotlight, as they are a sub-fleet specifically for Leviathan and are specialized for Anti-Warp action. I can dream, can't I?!
Incidentally, they could delay the consequences of something like that for the duration of the Tyranid war with the simple logic of 'The Shadow in the Warp got really thick for a while', which conveniently means the warp chicanery pops off right after the Nids retreat to lick their wounds.
I like this because it makes what The Silent King is trying to do with the Pariah Nexus even more important for the 'Crons to push, and really stressing to the various dynasties that they need to get their shit together. In fact, it may come to pass that Szarekh and Guilliman might have to come to an agreement if a 5th Chaos God shows up, bolstering the Eye of Terror and the Rift even further. The Tyranids are gonna be up the Imperium's ass here in a bit, and Robotman and the Lion aren't gonna be too happy having to deal with them and The New Chaos on the Block™ and SK's mind-fucking anti-warp blanket all at once. Meanwhile, Szarekh's plans are about to fall apart if a 5th god shows up and blasts the galaxy with more demon shit everywhere, and that might overload the Nexus if it isn't ready in time. A 5th Chaos God would pretty much put both the Imperium and Necrons on hard notice, hard enough they might have to look at each other, give that silent nod, and start fucking shit up while having each other's backs (begrudgingly).
I really liked the ending as for how they progressed the lore in balanced way. They made lion return but still vashtorr still got his keys and khorn get chunck of Indomitus crused. Unlike the ususal Chaos trying and doing Imperium damage but still loosing in last second. Would really like to see elders and orks side of this as they were pretty much on the side this time. Inquisition finally getting something right (bit late though) and unlocking all their resorces. Seems like something large is going to happen soon. As usual imperiam cant rest and focus on chaos yet as nids are move. If they become too much of a problem i wonder who is gonna come show up this time. Necrons maybe.
Hello Majorkill, Would you please make some lore videos on the Imperial Truth, the Imperial Creed, the Ecclesiarchy, and the High Lords of Terra? Pretty please? Thank you.
Loving this story line. Loving that’s there is actually a story line happening lol. Though I’m pretty new to the hobbie all things considered. Great stuff
It would be interesting if the empire got their hands on the key, since they can maybe use it on either restoring the emperor or upgrading him to full godhood or it could maybe help restore some of the dead primarchs. Mostly since the old ones tech is unknown in it's uses.
I love how Vashtorr is a new character and has caused a lot of damage towards the Galaxy, and the fact that the inquisition got wind of the lions return makes it a whole lot better as it got to the point where probably every single inquisitor has unlocked their full resource potential for the upcoming arks of omen series. I hope that The Eldar, The Necrons, The Orks, The Tau, and the Nids get their own version of an ark of omen.
@vivus the vivus thing I mean, it's not an orks space hulk, that's for sure, but I think that the entire craftworld population will become militarily active as soon as an avengers level threat atks them.
Thank you for doing this video. I only read the 30k/40k books and stopped playing the game a decade ago. So- it’s good to see a fun summary of the arks of omen rulebooks lore
Loved how Vashtorr and Belakor are like the younger squabbling siblings to the Four Chaos Gods. Malice is like that older sibling who is angry at the parents and leave the house all together.
I hope eventually that the dire situation across the Imperium will eventually bring all the loyalist space marine chapters together back into their full legions under the leadership of all the returned primarchs. I feel like that’s what GW is preparing to do, but probably not for a long time from now.
HELL YEAH! I didn't think ud cover this Majorkill. I was content with waiting for Uncle Baldemort with his rendition of book 5, but gawd damn u crazy Aussie I love it!
the funny part for me in those books was the dark angel's reaction when the blood angels arrive. like they were thinking why the hell are the blood angels here on this covert operation and how the hell can we cover up this.
I'm just wondering if guilliman will surrender the imperium to the lion so he can become the tax collector that he always wanted to be. Or if the lion will acknowledge guillimans administrative abilities as far more important, and become the war master of the imperium.
@HUGHTUBE 2 that could be, but I don't really see that happening. If that were the case it wouldn't be the imperium anymore, it would be 2 factions of humans with the same gear, that would also further divide the mechanicum. Chaos works because the traitor legions fall alongside the daemons. But I guess I could see it if there's gonna be another great rift followed by the return of another primarch, followed by the emperors return. But we're getting close to end game in the lore, there's only so much more that can happen.
Yo don't underestimate, more loyalist primarchs will be brought to life, some new kind of tech can be found, emperor can comeback, they will easily strech it for a decade @@johnaeryns5364
And why not to forgive to some of them. Fallen DA are not only these, thay are part of Black Legion. Many so called fallen are not chaos worshippers or followers. Many were tricked to sided with Chaos or were framed. Many others went rogue, but still not Chaos worshippers. So forgiving to these of his sons is not something bad or illogical. Also many fallen feel pain and remorse of what they did, unwilling or willing. Actually this is a good move by Lion - uniting as much as possible if his sons, having as much as possible of manpower, also making a example.
Angron is the Deamon Primarch of Khorne and arguably the best melee combatant in all of chaos' forces... and he has lost to THREE 'mortal' Primarchs, Perturabo, Sanguinius and the Lion.
@@porsche-sandoesnotundersta8184 it just feels like someone out psyker-ing Magnus. It feels weird that Angron is beaten at the thing he's meant to be the best at. The fact that Angron PAUSED in combat and Abbadon practically shat himself, gives you an idea of how Fucked the traitors are that The Lion is back. Also, YEEEEEEESSSSSS! REDEEMED FALLEN!
The Lion is the guy Horus feared and he feared him for a goddamn reason. Now that the Lion has unlocked a new power, I imagine Horus would've been shitting himself even if he was on the other side of the galaxy.
The traitors are fucked? My man vashtorr has a mini webway, abbadon has split the IoM in half, a whole indomitus fleet got corrupted and all the imperium got is the lion back. Its gonna be a similar situation with the lion trying to sort shit out with the IoM while also battling the uphill battle against chaos. That’s what the IoM has always been about
@@kinoman4875 And Horus, someone much more competent than Abaddon, feared the Lion. The Lion had a larger legion and many more worlds conquered than Horus did. Horus and Guilliman were neck and neck. The Lion was a bit ahead, and he joined the Crusade later than both.
@@starhammer5247 the thing is abbadon has waay more resources than horus. Horus had to deal with the daemon primarchs and their legions not working together causing the siege of terra to be absolutely fucked by the end of it, abbadon basically has the servitude of all the daemom primarchs because he is basically the avatar of chaos undivided along with being able to actually unite a more cohesive legion from different warbands and legion how is he less competent than horus? And this is waaay different from great crusade era, during that time astartes were the foot soldiers and their supply lines and logistics arent a nightmare like in the 41st millenium
Last Angron vs Lion I've seen in a battle report, Angron charged the Risen troops, one shotting a dreadnaught in the process, and b*tch-slaped his brother back into his forest after taking a beating then died... but only once :'D
The Lion is still only the second Angel to smash Angron's brains from his head, and he had to get some silly "Emperor's Shield" (when has the Emperor ever had, needed, or wanted a shield?) to accomplish it
nope. a lot of it was entrusted to them by the Emperor, or the Lion made sure to stop the heretics from getting it in the first place. The Dark Angels also have spent ten millennia collecting stuff and hiding it away from the rest of the galaxy so it can't be used against the Imperium.
The books explained that Caliban had some kind of sentient eldritch machine buried on it. Many of these artifacts are pieces of that machine that were already on Caliban even before the Dark Angels came to the planet. They most likely didn't know what they were and collected them for sentimental reasons or the Watchers collected them after the planet was destroyed
We finally get some Chaos Sisters of Battle and the fluid they want all over them is red, not white. Slaanesh is not pleased with this. And neither am I.

Old man is angry and Angron was in wrong place, in wrong time.😂😂😂
The Lion can walk from one point of Caliban to the other.
He's not fully explaining it so when we read the books it doesn't change what we can enjoy upon first read.
Read “the lion, son of the forest.” Explains everything.
Yeah, but Chaos has the usual bullshit of it all being planned and they couldn't lose anyway.
I'd say a united chaos front, would look similar to Warhammer Fantasy End Times, a total metaphysical reset.
Much appreciated; I've been lagging actually reading what's going on, this was a great summary. Well done!
I love that in 40k, the ultimate super weapon is literally super-logistics.

Who would work together with a filthy blue cow xenos?
Same, maybe even have a whole plotline of Farsight having to struggle against more and more temptation, and sometimes failing to fully resist it, yet never quite losing it all, and eventually managing to turn his back on Khorne

9:25 OH MY GOD, ITS BELACHOR COMING IN WITH A STEEL CHAIR
I really enjoyed Arks of Omen for the most part. Especially all the Chaos love and not having Vashtorr get curbstomped by the named Imperial character of the week. It felt like GW learned from some of the writing mistakes they made during The Gathering Storm and tried again, trying to avoid those mistakes which I think they did for the most part. Yes,The Lion is back but that isn't an insta-fix and The Imperium is still a rotting carcass of an empire, despite Guillimans efforts. Overall,I'm happy and looking forward to 10th!
At 10:29 : Somehow I have the feeling that the Alpha Legion is used a lot when it comes to bringing about any events.
This is the video us folks lost on the current lore needed. Thanks Majorkill. Custodes approved.
I still love the fact that Abaddon immediately shuts up once he realizes that the Lion is awake.

Oh yeah, it's time to party like it's the 32nd Millennium.
Hello Majorkill,
Would you please make some lore videos on the Imperial Truth, the Imperial Creed, the Ecclesiarchy, and the High Lords of Terra? Pretty please? Thank you.
Loving that the Lion literally bashing Angron's brain out
Loving this story line.
I mean isn't a craft world basically the same concept, sure it's not as millitarised but same giant space ship deal.
@vivus the vivus thing I mean, it's not an orks space hulk, that's for sure, but I think that the entire craftworld population will become militarily active as soon as an avengers level threat atks them.

The lion really is too OP even a Daemon Prince Primarch of Khorne was defeated. Angron got power boost but is still defeated.

inquisition: this is getting out of hand now there are two of them!
I'm just wondering if guilliman will surrender the imperium to the lion so he can become the tax collector that he always wanted to be. Or if the lion will acknowledge guillimans administrative abilities as far more important, and become the war master of the imperium.
I think they setting up the lion to be the ruler of the bad half of the imperium considering he can teleport there and how he saved Dante

*LİON FORGİVES FALLENS*
Oh yes. İconic duo of Lion and legion breaking choices
Aah yes, the beast hunter hunting down warhammers biggest beast currently active, glorious
Man imagines this duel turning into a cutscene how incredible this fight would be. I worry about Dante but I still think this story is good as hell.
If the Imperium was smart they would just let Abaddon keep winning. Every time he does, a Loyalist Primarch comes back.
Angron is the Deamon Primarch of Khorne and arguably the best melee combatant in all of chaos' forces... and he has lost to THREE 'mortal' Primarchs, Perturabo, Sanguinius and the Lion.
I mean it's the big three, The Commander of the Siege of Terra, The Angel and the 1st, pretty self explanatory to me.
@@porsche-sandoesnotundersta8184 it just feels like someone out psyker-ing Magnus. It feels weird that Angron is beaten at the thing he's meant to be the best at. I always felt with the demon primarchs if you fight THEIR game, you lose. So you have to do something else.
If they'd out played him like Russ did that would make sense, but each of them literally just out one on one fights him and wins. Feels odd.
@@gwilym1991 Except Angron was probably never MEANT to be the best melee combatant, it would explain it.
An idea I just had, it would be really cool if like Vashtorr became a chaos god, but then through some eldar shenanigans an Eldar god comes back to even the score
I really respect him for not milking every cumdrop of info and waiting
"oi, cousins. we got your primarch. lets fuck shit up." is such a blood angel thing to say.
Majorkill can you do a video on the planets of the Sol System in 40k?
So how long did this whole thing take? Like from the time Vashtorr and Kyle first meet to the fight between Angron and the Lion?
40k timelines always get me! What I think took like a year turns out to have taken like 900 years!
Gotta say, I did NOT expect Vashtorrs plan to be what it ended up being what it was
This is what I'm thinking:
What if Vashtorr goes to the lock and gets ready to ascend but a rift appears right before he does, and out of the rift come Belakor, and they fight a massive battle. While that's going on Abadon is trying to help out Vashtorr but everyone stops, as they feel a weird presence. Then out of no where 11 space marines appear, black and white leading a small group and then deep laughter as malice appears.
@@jkee9760 Yo, I'd love to see Malice show up. Him getting his hands on the forge somehow would be great.

Last Angron vs Lion I've seen in a battle report, Angron charged the Risen troops, one shotting a dreadnaught in the process, and b*tch-slaped his brother back into his forest after taking a beating then died... but only once :'D
Vashtorr is basically the Shooter McGavin of the Warhammer 40k universe.
He eats pieces of shit for breakfast?
The Lion is still only the second Angel to smash Angron's brains from his head, and he had to get some silly "Emperor's Shield" (when has the Emperor ever had, needed, or wanted a shield?) to accomplish it
For a blade as powerful as Angron's, something that isn't made of wood will come in handy. He smashed his head nice.
PS. I wonder how it was created.
is it odd that the Dark Angels had been in possession of most artifacts so far?
nope. a lot of it was entrusted to them by the Emperor, or the Lion made sure to stop the heretics from getting it in the first place. The Dark Angels also have spent ten millennia collecting stuff and hiding it away from the rest of the galaxy so it can't be used against the Imperium.
Not really, they're the emperor executor, and emp give em lots of forbidden stuff, maybe some of the vashtor artifacts
