This is the best Transformers movie. The scene where we are first introduced to Blackout when he attacks the military base is one of my favorite action scenes of all time.
Me too! I also love the Scorponok battle when he's fighting the soldiers. The tension in the scene is really high since all they can really do is just hold him off until help arrives.
Lil CC Whenever someone uses the words "the best of all time" when referring to a movie they love I wonder how many films they've seen in their lifetime.
RangoGamer nah check this one out, 2011: -Rise of the Planet of the Apes -Thor -Cars 2 -Transformers Dark of the Moon -Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides -Fast Five. All these movies had or will have sequels this year.
At the moment, for me... Transformers Transformers: Age of Extinction Transformers: Dark of the Moon Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ...and now to wait and see what the hell The Last Knight is going to do for things.
Illogical as it is, I'm hoping The Last Knight is genuinely great. The "girl power" trailer was pretty irritating, but the overall premise is interesting. It seems to be taking cues from the fantastic Transformers: Prime series, and I'm really holding on to that notion.
My favourite Transformers movies that directed by Micheal Bay are Transformers 2007 and Transformers Dark Of The Moon. Those movies while flawed,it's still an entertaining and fun pop corn action movie.Revenge Of The Fallen is my guilty pleasure.Age Of Extinction was meh, but The Last Knight is just awful.
You know when it comes to movies based on a toy lines such as Transformers, recent Gi Joe movies, recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and Trolls, this movie is an entertaining and more fun movie than The Live Action Gi Joe Movies,The recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, and especially Trolls.
Yeah this movie doesn't deserve the bad rep it gets coming off of the other sequels. The CGI is absolutely amazing for its time and the visuals are what carried this movie to a good spot in my heart
I gotta be honest the CGI in this film is nothing short of incredible, 13 years later and it still looks beautiful and real, some marvel movies haven't aged that well in less time cough* age of ultron cough
The first movie is actually not that bad,it's a pretty entertaining popcorn flick and that's mainly because Steven Spielber, who was the ex.producer, was actively involved in the movie. After that,he gave the rains to Michael Bay and every movie has become worse and worse.
Stuart had his left eye destroyed by murdoc's tire while murdoc was robbing the music store that Stuart was working at, putting him into a catatonic state. His left eye was destroyed when he flew out of a car during a car crash, destroying his right eye, freeing himself from his catatonic state, in which he stood up, and murdoc knew he had a frontman, calling him 2-d for the 2 dents in that he put in his head.
For some reason, I still think the 1st Transformers movie LOOKS the best, even though it was made 10 years ago. I don't know what happened with the sequels, but it looks like the Transformers are all moving at a lower frame-rate or something. It's weird O_O Am I the only one who thinks this?
I personally thought the cgi in the second and third movie were on par with the first. Age of extinction had a lot of moments where it didnt look like the transformers were there, but for the most part it was still really good. The last knight on the other hand, had a few shots where the transformers looked real, but for the rest of the movie they stuck out like a saw thumb.
Right. The sequels are cheap ripoffs of the original. They didn't bring anything new to the table. The beauty of the first one is in it's simplicity, and the fact it feels more "relevant" methinks .Unlike with every other ancient Cybertronian relic of mass destruction that conveniently ended up on Earth, the Cube felt more intimately connected to the plot and the characters of transformers.I don't really know how to word it;there was a feeling of mystery that underscored the first movie, that i never really got to experience in any of the sequels. And then there's the overblown mishmash that is the CGI and choreography-whereas i vividly remember every second of every fight in the first movie ,there isn't a single memorable scene from the last two that i can think of.That ain't good.
good is to strong of word, you mean it was "okay" or "fine" if you're actual fan grew up with the show, this was trash and barely showed enough of robots and focused way to much on human characters
I actually really enjoyed the first Transformers movie. Yeah, it has its problems, but it's a good time. "If I had a rock, I'd bust your head, bitch." I died laughing at that line! XD
I agree. I don't always trust Chris. I mean he liked Godzilla a lot, and the movie should have been called Gotziless, because the monster had only 5 minutes screen time with not enough action and boring characters.
Woah I can understand hearing it's fun or epic or well shot. but like great characters? that's the first I've heard someone say that about any transformers movie
I didn't care for the movies, I found it really hard to tell which characters were who. I was never a Transformers fan as a kid so maybe that was a reason. I just don't like how the designs for every character aside from Optimus, Bumblebee, and Megatron look the same.
I think you're the first reviewer to call out Bay on his over-saturated photography. Everyone bashes his explosions and cgi, but yes, the over-saturation and colour grading in his films, really bugs me.
I don't mind the over saturated color palette, I think it fits with the kind of over the top look he is going for. my problem with his movies is the fast cutting editing style, it cuts so much in the action scenes that you can barely see shit. also some of those low and side hanging camera shots (which is obviously coming from his music video background), god I hate that style of cinematography, it just looks so odd and unfocused for some reason
Yeah the first film is awesome and the CGI is still superb. And Megatron, what a villain. It's just a shame that the sequels haven't had the same quality despite them having some good moments here and there. Really hoping 5 is a return to form for the franchise.
True. And instead of showing it off in all its glorious action, the movie switches to the meaningless human characters. That's what really pissed me off the most: everytime the Transformers got to do something cool, the camera would suddenly focus on unimportant humans and their trivial reactions.
I remember when back in 2007 i was 6, i came from the hospital with my dad to buy Transformers dvd. Oh my god it was mind blowing for my 6 year old mind
Ah the summer of 2007. The year the final Harry Potter book, another Harry Potter film, High School Musical 2, Hairspray and Transformers were released. I actually loved the story elements of this movie lmao. I think that it was constantly doing funny/interesting things, even if it was just over dramatic human stuff. It was just a super fun watch all the way through because of the 2000s energy it has.
Does no one ever acknowledge that Optimus Prime is always getting his ass whooped in every movie and after the humans save him, he then kicks ass for the last 10 mins?
Vishal Venkat thats why this franchise is overall, crap. it's basically the same plot told slightly different over and over. how many different objects are they hunting for in every movie
Watched it all the time as a kid. Now I rewatched it 10 years later, and wow. This really is a great, great movie. And it was nostalgia at it‘s finest.
I personally love this first film. It's great and i need to give credit to Michael Bay for making me the mega transformers fan I am today. Say what you will about the sequels (I find enjoyment in them, especially dark of the moon, but this first film is great. Also this franchise has one of the best, most underrated composers working today with Steve Jablonsky. All everyone talks about is Hans Zimmer(who did teach Jablonsky so credit there) and Michael Giacchino but Jablonsky is right up there with them.
According to Megan Fox, she was attending a Linkin Park concert and when it was over, the band met her personally and stated that they heard about the live-action "Transformers" film, and requested whether they could have a song of theirs in the film, and thus "What I've Done" appears in the closing credits.
Criticizing Jablonski soundtrack straight up broke my heart, this is one the best thing about transformers and I think his style is very much different from his mentor's ...
Ethan Northup You must be very young if u think this was revolutionary. King Kong or LOTR had much more complex effects. Together with The Matrix and Star Wars these movies brought the biggest revolution since Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park. Transformers had cool effects but it was no where near as important.
Deric James Nope. Don't let your hate for Transformers 4 blind you. Actually watch bits of it in 1080p, forget about the characters and story and stuff. Just watch how it looks. And you'll notice 4 has among the best effets ever made. It looks incredible. You may dislike it, and that's fine, but from a technical point of view, it's mind-blowing. Just like the first three movies.
Regardless of its quality, I have watched Armageddon countless times. One of the best guilty pleasure movie of all time. Transformer gets pretty boring on second viewing
pretty sure he was referring to a line in the movie where the transformers first crash down and the kid says something like "this is 10x better then armaggedon"
I was in seventh grade when this came out and I still remember the chills I got at the movie theater. This completely blew my little 12 year old mind. Ahh the good ol days
Even though this movie is pretty entertaining, and the new one looks kind of promising, it's gonna be pretty difficult to wash the taste of Transformers 4 out of my mouth. Man, I hated that movie. Like I think it actually effected me physically.
Chris, if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you watch Cinema Paradiso (maybe do a foreign film series). it's a love letter to film and I think it'd be great to hear your thoughts on the movie! (and your opinion on which version is better, the og or the three hour version)
The first Transformers film is actually tolerable and enjoyable. The second one is complete garbage. The third is better than the second film, but still not that great. The only good thing about it was the introduction of Sentinel. The fourth is bad due to being the same exact recycled shiet just with different actors. And I'm not excited in the slightest for the fifth.
the only transformers film I truly like plus I feel so nostalgic as I remember watching it when I was only 7. it was like the best thing I've ever seen.
svik71 I hope so, though I realized that TF5 seems to combine DOTM and AOE. DOTM with having an evil prime and wanting to bring cybertron here and too many new autobots. AOE with the lack of true decepticons and having an anti-transformers force.
Chris didn't treat Transformers: Age of Extinction as a Hilariocity, so I highly doubt he'll treat Revenge of the Fallen as a Hilariocity because, in my opinion, Age of Extinction is the absolute worst in the series.
It's nice to see someone who doesn't shit all over this movie because of the use of extensive animation; that shit isn't easy, and it looks fantastic here
0:10 "This came out 10 years ago...A DECADE" "song: ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh" jajaja yes I know the felling man. Very funny. You are one of my favorite movie reviewers. Grettings from a Venezuelan Living in Chile.
I never had cable or satalite so we could never watch Transformers the TV show, but this movie introduced me to Transformers and as a 9 year old kid this was the best movie I'd ever watched at that time! I still love this movie!
This shit was hype in 2007. It almost seemed like a dream that they were making a live action Transformers and taking it seriously. Optimus Prime ALONE holds up all of these movies. He is portrayed like a badass and a charismatic leader and Peter Cullen is doing some of the best voice acting he's ever done. Also I really enjoy the score for this. Yeah, it does sound like a ripoff of Zimmer's Batman Begins score, but it's better. Pretty sad when the ripoff sounds better than the real thing.
Transformers 1 : Enjoyable movie with some awesome moments (Plus I was 12 back then) Transformers 2 : first movie I ever saw that made me yawn during its action scenes- That's.....quite fucking bad. Trasnformers 3 : not even worth the cinema ticket.Rented the DVD, still a bad incomprehensible mess. Transformers 4 : watched the Cinemasins version and was done with it.
I just realised you have Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in the background and her dad (Jon Voight) is in this film and he played Lara’s dad, Richard in Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2001).
Good memories i remember back when i was like 5 or 6 watching this for the 1st time with my dad before my parents broke up it was a really interesting movie and got me into Transformers a lot more after watching it
The first movie was launched 10 years ago, holy shit, I feel old.
Nickkiller the Khajiit doesn't even feel like it's been that long
Wow, I was a six year old.
how old are you. I was 11 back then.
I love the first one but Revenge of the Fallen is pure crap

This is the best Transformers movie. The scene where we are first introduced to Blackout when he attacks the military base is one of my favorite action scenes of all time.

Lil CC, ikr, I enjoyed this transformers.
Nathan Huerta that's a great scene too! It felt pretty grounded in reality for the most part and their battle against him is desperate

im not saying it's revolutionary I'm saying it's okay for 2007
I replied to Ethan my man :)
Transformers was easily better than Armageddon
I dunno. Transformers lacks Steve Buscemi.
i like armageddon
Regardless of its quality, I have watched Armageddon countless times. One of the best guilty pleasure movie of all time. Transformer gets pretty boring on second viewing
I think Transformers is definitely better-made, but Armageddon is full-on guilty pleasure which gives it more rewatchability.
pretty sure he was referring to a line in the movie where the transformers first crash down and the kid says something like "this is 10x better then armaggedon"
easily the best transformers movie
I was in seventh grade when this came out and I still remember the chills I got at the movie theater. This completely blew my little 12 year old mind. Ahh the good ol days
I never saw the movie "The Golden Compass", but I was highly upset when that movie won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects over this one.
I like the movies for what they are honestly. I like all 4, but Transformers(2007) is the best one.
Kobe Bryant YES!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
If they hadn't of put the military in there though, I'd probably be asking "What the fuck is your military/government doing about this"
God damn I love this movie. Not so much the other films, but this one will always have a special place in my heart.
Even though this movie is pretty entertaining, and the new one looks kind of promising, it's gonna be pretty difficult to wash the taste of Transformers 4 out of my mouth. Man, I hated that movie. Like I think it actually effected me physically.
Yeah 4 is the Worst transformers
Chris's impression of movie critics , "I really expected more out of a robot car movie!" Chortle!
This movie is my guilty pleasure.
SAME, I seriously like the 4 of the movies, but this is too much hate.
AndresGarcialegos You do know that guilty pleasure still means it's a pretty shit film?
cesarmanuel51 Actually it can be bad movies or good movies
I don't think it should be labeled as "guilty" lol. I love it too
Transformers '07: "I am the best live action Transformers movie."
Bumblebee 2018: I'm about to end this man's whole career
Bumblebee wasn't that great to me... 2007 is still the best
Best of the transformers movies! Was great in the theater more humor than this review gives credit for!
am I the only one that thinks this movie is wicked underrated?!?! And it's fucking badass?
Pretty spot on
Crono Sapien Transformers is the live action equivalent of Ice Age.
Crono Sapien the 3rd was awesome. this was the last one I watched but it is my favorite
Less characters, more robots less humans and make it 1:40 h instead of 2:40 h and allready you're on a better path.
Crono Sapien then don't watch it
the first transformers is the best out of all of the them imo and megan fox wasnt bad at all imo
Trans-formers : Gender in Disguise
Shiirow Need to be the top comment
THE SJWS ARE INFECTING US ALL
I am Progressivimus Prime the leader of the Autobots
Transgenders more than meets the eye
Shiirow did you just asume my gender
you're videos just keep getting better and better chris, so glad i subbed
2007. What an epic year. This movie came out, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare came out, De La Hoya vs Mayweather happened.
This video was released just 10 minutes ago and everyone already proceeded with the overused memes. Gotta love the Internet.
Captain Kon'Doriano Ayyyyyyyyy
+Rei Goes To Hollywood We live in a small world 😂😂😂
Captain Kon'Doriano indeed
the only transformers film I truly like plus I feel so nostalgic as I remember watching it when I was only 7. it was like the best thing I've ever seen.
@@sng3939 I was 8 when it came out in 2007.
I'm still crossing my fingers that TF5 is gonna be amazing, because they replaced Eren Krueger with better writers
svik71 same
svik71 I hope so, though I realized that TF5 seems to combine DOTM and AOE. DOTM with having an evil prime and wanting to bring cybertron here and too many new autobots. AOE with the lack of true decepticons and having an anti-transformers force.
Literally grew up with this movie , OMG truly , 3rd grade me was just INSANE
Chris didn't treat Transformers: Age of Extinction as a Hilariocity, so I highly doubt he'll treat Revenge of the Fallen as a Hilariocity because, in my opinion, Age of Extinction is the absolute worst in the series.
This comment definitely didn't age well...
who wants to bet he'll do a hilariocity for number 2
I really enjoyed this franchise. It was fun. It had Epic set pieces, cool camera work and great setting.
1: B-
2: D
3: D+
4: C- (I surprisingly didnt hate this one)
5. "I've got the watch!"
SAMEEE I thought tf4 was better than any but the first
It's nice to see someone who doesn't shit all over this movie because of the use of extensive animation; that shit isn't easy, and it looks fantastic here
0:10 "This came out 10 years ago...A DECADE" "song: ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh" jajaja yes I know the felling man. Very funny. You are one of my favorite movie reviewers. Grettings from a Venezuelan Living in Chile.
The first one is one of my favourite movies ever. The other ones I consider simply as ´´meh´´.
My sentiments precisely.
Same here bro
I never had cable or satalite so we could never watch Transformers the TV show, but this movie introduced me to Transformers and as a 9 year old kid this was the best movie I'd ever watched at that time! I still love this movie!
The best thing to come from this movie was that it was the first movie that the Nostalgia Critic ever reviewed
DAMN. Now I feel old as shit.
Transformers 1 was one of my favorites
Transformers 1 : Enjoyable movie with some awesome moments (Plus I was 12 back then)
Transformers 2 : first movie I ever saw that made me yawn during its action scenes- That's.....quite fucking bad.
Trasnformers 3 : not even worth the cinema ticket.Rented the DVD, still a bad incomprehensible mess.
Transformers 4 : watched the Cinemasins version and was done with it.
james501 😂😂😂the Cinemasins version all you called it a day I'm done💀but you're not wrong
Hmm I liked all the movies till dark of the moon
Transformers (2007) is one of my favorite movies of all time. In my top 10 favorite movies of all time no doubt.
GOOD GOD!
I just realised you have Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in the background and her dad (Jon Voight) is in this film and he played Lara’s dad, Richard in Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2001).
That Batman Begins segment blew my mind, nice catch.
Transformers: B
Revenge Of The Fallen: C-
Dark Of The Moon: B+
Age Of Extinction: C+
Do a review of Stand by Me!
Fuck yeah!
Nicholas Skeans Yes
Nicholas Skeans Interesting suggestion
Nicholas Skeans just watch the flick picks his is hilarious
Good memories i remember back when i was like 5 or 6 watching this for the 1st time
