When I was a kid, I'm 59 now, my dad used to take us to Rudyard Lake. It was like a little resort. It had amusements cafes tea rooms little rides and a steam boat, for trips on the lake. Apart from the miniature railway its all changed now.. I think the nearby Alton Towers put paid it. Incidentally we would go to alton towers even before there was a single roller coaster there. Just had a big fairground and the Camera Obscura that's still there.

Good vid mate. As you cross the bridge near the start of the vid if you turn left and follow the path for a short distance you'll come across a boathouse. It's open until 17:30 each day and has a lovely log fire burning. Its not staffed by anyone its just there for people's enjoyment. Lovely.

I live near rudyard its a great little place. Great overnight camping where that welcome to rudyard sign is. Really quite and peaceful. Plus a great place to walk the dogs!

I love walking the roaches in the rain. It is one big playground for the tough rambler. In the heavy rain, you get the place to yourself.

That was a great walk!
To keep your yourself warm, eat food with high carbs, protein and fat....and to cook food quicker, use minced meats, and slice all vegetables, that way you should be able to eat within 30 mins, and use less gas.....plus add ginger and spices
It's all about the theory of food reactions in your body that helps to keep you warm for longer....which sadly most people are having to learn more survival skills in these tragic times.

Hi mate, great video Rudyard Kipling was actually named after the lake. His Father met and courted his mother around the lake. Cliffe Park Hall has some really bad history, even a murder by a gang of robbers. Have a Google, and a few videos of folk getting inside to take a look.
