I have no regrets picking a Hyundai over the default of the majority of malaysian which Toyota and Honda. Looking forward to purchase a Santa Fe..
Tbh Hyundai has come a long way. Stereotypes should give it a try. My first Elantra already wow-Ed me and it’s way more exciting and appealing compared to the usuals like (t.....,h....,)

Just learn how to keep your car clean and light coloured interiors won't be that big of a hassle. Some interiors simply looks better with bright colour schemes.
Interesting looking car, hopefully it won't be misrepresented by the local disty. Always had a thing for the amazing amount of features and safety of Korean cars. Unfortunately, value-for-money features they are known for is non-existent in Malaysian.
This Elantra is pretty well equipped, but having only a 1.6 NA would be a turn off for many. Typical of the distributors, they love to continously shoot themselves in the foot.
finally the rear foglight does not cannibalizing right side of reverse light... rear foglight must mandated just placed lower at bumper... not like pickup trucks, placed right side where the reverse light should be...
@@YSKhongDriving Don't overlook the current 1.8l Civic on offer. It's currently the benchmark C segment sedan as far as pricing is concerned , and its a good overall performing car too. If I'm not mistaken, it's currently priced just below Rm110k!

But to those who are on a tight budget but is looking for a presentable and reputable C segment sedan, they can't go wrong with the current Civic base model. If only Honda Malaysia could have offered the AEB with a little hike in asking price, i forsee another round of active buying happening for this base model Civic.

@@hoomee7605 cannot say like that. Everything in the car is always tinkered with all the time. If not then there's no innovation and improvement. Hyundai has one of the better transmissions. In terms of feel their IVT is one of the best. So far the past 2 to 3 years? Overseas markets I see have had no issues. As with all car components, they are engineered many years before actually put into a car. Unlike Japanese brands and Proton which they choose a gearbox from an Oem, hyundai makes their own.

But then when the previous AD Elantra was sold here, it was competitively priced, had a wonderful 1.6T Sport variant that makes more power than Honda's 1.5T unit, but guess how many people bought it?...

For a 1.6 and most importantly an Auto with N.A. engine, achieving such timing is totally acceptable if one compare to Corolla 1.6, Mazda 3 1.5 or for that matter Civic 1.6 (SG available). It basically outperform them.
@@ianpolo5673 I was initially skeptical at the 10.4 0-100 timing. It appears that the 10.4 may be very well true, as the new IVT transmission reduces power loss, which makes the car more efficient at putting the power on the road.

I'm renting one of these right now and I'm really impressed with its highway passing speed.
This 1.6 engine has twin intake port injectors as mentioned. But in detail one is nearer to the intake valve while the other is further away.

The light scheme interior is a put off for our climate. One branded Japanese car tried on their mid size SUV and stopped doing it after a while.

They offered two colour schemes for the interior.. Fully black and black and white
a contrast matching of black and dark brown or grey would be nice.
For Some Buyers will choose Birght colors interior that Bored Black interior

If its priced more than Rm120k, Hyundai Malaysia can say bye2 to their share for the C segment sedan.
I personally think it' hard for any C segment to be priced under RM120k nowadays. Those days are gone.

IVT is another form of CVT, with different programming. In effect it is still a CVT.
