I'm surprised by how much I absolutely love my Switch, considering how unimpressed I was with Nintendo for..A lot of years, now. I'm going to love playing Mario Kart 8 on it!
You know, I have to agree, and I was REALLY down on Nintendo for the last... Decade or so? I even bought the Wii and Wii U, but never finished a single game on either - there was always a list a mile long of things I wanted to play on other platforms with better hardware. But Zelda + the Switch has REALLY been great. I wouldn't mind if I only ever really cared about Zelda on it, it's worth the cost of the system. I AM concerned about the lack of quality games in the pipeline, but agian, Zelda is good enough that I don't mind, and Mario Kart is fun to be able to play portably. That's enough for me, and the first time I've ever been happy that I bought a system for potentially just one or a few games that I'll actually play a significant amount. It's quite an achievement, but I have a bad feeling they're going to just rest on their laurels since the system is already such a success in their minds... history repeating itself and all that.
I grew up with Nintendo. I started playing on the old N64 when I was as young as three years old. The doctor told my parents it'd help with my concentration. I had an amazing childhood with that console, as other people did. But after that, my relationship with Nintendo soured as I, like you, went with platforms that had better hardware. From then on, every Nintendo release felt like a gimmick, with the focus being on "party games". Well, eventually I sold my PS4 to help build my PC..But I still felt like I was missing something..Some backup console, maybe..I could've bought a new PS4 but why would I pay all that money for a console, when I can just play those games at even higher settings on my PC? And that's when I saw the Switch. It definitely wasn't an easy decision, considering my love/hate relationship with Nintendo. But it's a console that you can take on the go. With my limited budget, I wouldn't have to choose between handheld and console anymore. Well, I do not regret my purchase..It's an amazing console. I hope they don't mess this up. And I also hope they don't just focus on party games. Their inclusion of third party titles however, has me very optimistic. Yeah, I can play Dark Souls(Rumors say..) and Skyrim on my PC and have them both look EXTRAORDINARY..But to play them on the Switch? Incredible. I'll be fine with Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, and Monster Hunter, but after that, I want to see what else they can do.

I could say that TLOU uses the same rehash formula from the Uncharted series, with those MATUUUURE MANLY stories and GUUUUNS. Games are classified in genres because they show similarities, but that doesn't mean every game from a genre is the same. Mario Kart 8 is still a racing game but it had many differences from Mario kart 7, anti gravity, new itens, new physics, new ways to mix the car parts,etc. And now with deluxe there are 2 itens slots, all the Dlcs, a new epic battle mode and everything the original had, and that is FINE, after all it is just a enhanced port. TLOU is not a Rehash from Uncharted, but still is from the same genre, an adventure shooter. Plus they are made by the same company, and of course both games share similarities, but that is fine if the hole game has a place to it. It wouldn't be nice if the main characters from TLOU had a sense of humor like Drake. That wouldn't make any sense considering how dramatic TLOU is. @Torterra Boy - The private (or any) lobbies don't exist yet, do they? There is no real online functionality yet on the Switch except the Store currently, AFAIK... I would ASSUME that it will be coming before or with the launch of Mario Kart, HOPEFULLY! But this is Nintendo, so definitely no guarantees there (unless they actually did guarantee it will come with Mario Kart, and I haven't seen it).

I own the original on Wii U & still play it a lot after three years (easily my favorite Mario Kart game), but I'm still getting Deluxe when I buy a Switch after Christmas next week! Can't wait! An excellent game made even better!
Amazing game 1080p and new battle mode are nice, only thing missing is voice chat for multiplayer games that Nintendo says is coming. They have to deliver on a online experience on par with the other consoles.
So I'm wondering, Mario Kart has always had a battle mode up until Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U came out. With no games to currently play (since the majority will have beaten Zelda) and the fact Nintendo would love to get people to pay retail price for the same game with a single update, do you reckon they planned this?

On the bus heading home I had a university watch me play Zelda on the switch. I had a school bus driver who her and her husband might go the movies and watch ether a kids animated movie or a PG-13 live action film maybe a R rated film.
For the record, I do not hate this game. It is a great opportunity for those who skipped out on MK8 originally or even had the game and just didn't get the DLC. But as someone who already spent $72 on this game, a few new characters and a better battle mode don't justify another $60 purchase, and I don't understand people who think that's a good way to spend your money.
It concerns me how much hitching there seems to be with even the slightest amount of action going on, on-screen... It seems like it plays smoother than on WiiU overall, but that hitching is going to be really annoying if it's as bad as it looks for some modes, tracks, or scenes in this video!
9? It's literally a port plus a battle mode and a couple small features, but the vast majority of the content is identical to the Wii U version. If you're adding to your score of what the Wii U version was, I agree, but if Nintendo kept coming up with more slightly different, exclusive ports of the same game, you'd rate it much lower, which is what they did. Mayo Rice, not really. It’s a steal compared to its predecessor, as it has all the dlc, new battle mode, and new characters and mechanics. All for $60. The original w/dlc is alone $72ish. (My math may be wrong here) This game is a fucking steal.

Stelio Macumbe I used to have a original DS and a Wii when I was 10 years old or so. Back then I really had that 'weeeee' feeling. Now with the Switch, I expect that feeling to come back soon with Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. I'm mainly a PC gamer, and those graphics are realistic and gameplay is enjoyable. But the Switch is a nice change of pace, and I've played Mario Kart 8 on a friend's WiiU, it's just pure fun.

@Torterra Boy - The private (or any) lobbies don't exist yet, do they? There is no real online functionality yet on the Switch except the Store currently, AFAIK... I would ASSUME that it will be coming before or with the launch of Mario Kart, HOPEFULLY! But this is Nintendo, so definitely no guarantees there (unless they actually did guarantee it will come with Mario Kart, and I haven't seen it).

I own the original on Wii U & still play it a lot after three years (easily my favorite Mario Kart game), but I'm still getting Deluxe when I buy a Switch after Christmas next week! Can't wait! An excellent game made even better!
Amazing game 1080p and new battle mode are nice, only thing missing is voice chat for multiplayer games that Nintendo says is coming. They have to deliver on a online experience on par with the other consoles.
So I'm wondering, Mario Kart has always had a battle mode up until Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U came out. With no games to currently play (since the majority will have beaten Zelda) and the fact Nintendo would love to get people to pay retail price for the same game with a single update, do you reckon they planned this?
Will nobody mention that the items need balancing. It's annoying because too many blue shells can hit you in a race or lightning bolts strike.
Do haters have nothing better to do? I don't understand the logic of going to a video about something you obviously don't care about and say its shit. The Switch in my opinion has more enticing games already confirmed for release this year than the Xbox One and it seems to have a promising future. I didn't buy a Wii U, but I plan to buy a Switch later on this year so this game looks like an excellent couch and online multiplayer game.

Weird thing is I was playing my Switch in college and people did not judge me at all. On the bus heading home I had a university watch me play Zelda on the switch.
I had a school bus driver who her and her husband might go the movies and watch ether a kids animated movie or a PG-13 live action film maybe a R rated film.
For the record, I do not hate this game. It is a great opportunity for those who skipped out on MK8 originally or even had the game and just didn't get the DLC. But as someone who already spent $72 on this game, a few new characters and a better battle mode don't justify another $60 purchase, and I don't understand people who think that's a good way to spend your money.

It concerns me how much hitching there seems to be with even the slightest amount of action going on, on-screen... It seems like it plays smoother than on WiiU overall, but that hitching is going to be really annoying if it's as bad as it looks for some modes, tracks, or scenes in this video!

9? It's literally a port plus a battle mode and a couple small features, but the vast majority of the content is identical to the Wii U version. If you're adding to your score of what the Wii U version was, I agree, but if Nintendo kept coming up with more slightly different, exclusive ports of the same game, you'd rate it much lower, which is what they did. It's sickening.

Mayo Rice, not really. It’s a steal compared to its predecessor, as it has all the dlc, new battle mode, and new characters and mechanics. All for $60. The original w/dlc is alone $72ish. (My math may be wrong here) This game is a fucking steal.

Those seem the kind of games that make me go weeeeeeeeee. I haven't felt that on a long time. I am not sure about Zelda though.
Stelio Macumbe I used to have a original DS and a Wii when I was 10 years old or so. Back then I really had that 'weeeee' feeling. Now with the Switch, I expect that feeling to come back soon with Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. I'm mainly a PC gamer, and those graphics are realistic and gameplay is enjoyable. But the Switch is a nice change of pace, and I've played Mario Kart 8 on a friend's WiiU, it's just pure fun.

MK8 Deluxe hasn't been released yet. You could only play the Deluxe version at Switch events. Or play the older version on a Wii U
