did they just say that porn is halal?? like are they for real?
Yeah lets disregard Quran and Sunna when they talk about haya'a, not pursuing other peoples awrah, lowering ones gaze and all of that; also all the scientific evidence about the harms of pornography on the brain and how it literally shrinks and rewires parts of it; the sociological harms of how it changes the way men view women(i.e.objectification) , how women view men (the classic 'toxic masculinity'), and how they view their own selves; and the industry and how corrupt it is... Yep lets throw all this into the trash because one Shafi'i scholar one time said that if you end up looking at reflections of women in lakes is not a sin...and also everyone is doing it so it must be Halal, of course.
my point is not to demonize Mufti, or anyone watching porn, it's just i don't know how it could be halal however you spin the text + taking into account all the evidence of its harms upon the individual an society makes near impossible to say it's halal, the thing is.. its like mufti said in a previous monday nights "..if you want to do something do it, but just don't drag islam into it.."

Smail well. He addressed the lowering your gaze. “Not pursing other people” when you watch porn you’re not pursing anyone. Again lowering ones gaze is meant in person not virtually online which someone independently decided to expose themselves. “Scientific evidence” most people say porn is harmful when you abuse it and use it in a horrid matter this is solely on the person who uses it. Men objectifying women does not come from porn alone at all. It’s societal norms and bad influences of sad men being manipulated. Yes there’s some parts of the industry that’s corrupt it wasn’t always like this and people can view other way ethical porn or drawn porn which artists actually commit too.

@@qwite9309 thank you for the reply, i'm gonna try to respond to the points i see relevant one by one..if i forget one or misrepresent please correct me..
"when you watch porn you’re not pursing anyone"
maybe you don't, but still if you see the comments under most videos there's always the "whats her name" comment there, and you'd be naive if you think that people there wont (and) don't dox and harass the actresses if they get the chance, you might say well they're just creeps and that's their problem..but still that doesn't solve the problem at all in any way..
"most people say porn is harmful when you abuse it "
i don't think that's an argument to be honest, what do you mean by "abuse" and "use it in horrid manner" ?
i mean you could say that about literally anything.
teddy bears are harmful when you abuse them and use them in a horrid matter this is solely on the person who uses them.
      ??
Men objectifying women does not come from porn alone at all
of course it does not come only from porn, that was not my point...
sure women (and men) were objectified since idk forever..my point is porn blew that into astronomical degrees were the first thing someone does if he watches porn alot is compare the girl in front of him with other models on the net, and the thing is that, it's not his fault his brain was rewired by the influx of images he saw, and does that subconsciously..which ties down with your point before about "lowering the gaze"
...umm look, before you made the difference between meeting someone "in person" and "virtually online", here a thought experiment to make my point clear..
What is the difference between a porn start doing a live show, and monday nights with mufti ? (sorry mufti)
-both shows depend on audience interaction
-both hosts take requests from their audiences (pls do this/pls answer this)
-both shows have a segment or the entire show dedicated to what's trendy and relevant to their audiences in that period of time
-both audiences cultivate a para social relationship with the hosts
      But what's the difference ?
it's simply that the audience of the model would disappear and look for another model the moment she just stops, without (for the most part) asking why or what happened to her, the reason is they are not there for the Person, they don't care who she is why is she doing that, what's her story or any thing besides "ooo nice body, take money, do this next etc" if that is not objectification i don't know what is.
hope this is not too long for you xd
also i don't know if mufti reads the comments but if you happen to read this Mufti, again I'm sorry XD may Allah keep all of us smiling insha'allah.

@@smail6865 What I was saying that most actual professionals say that porn is only harmful when its abused to the point which it starts changing the way you look to sexuality and take it as a very reputable source to what you do in your sexual life. As for the objectification when you brought it up it sounded like you were saying it brought the issues with objectification. While my point was that porn does not teach people to be like that its a whole social stigma that is taught to "masculine" men. This is why toxic masculinity is so hated its because it promotes "masculine" ideas which never were and it does so to the expence of devalueing men's actual experiences and discrediting them as femnine or sissies. As for your comparing with mufti's show I fail to see how that makes a point at all my point was that averting your gaze meant in the context of looking at someones parts in person. Not for people you have no knowledge of. Let me adress your points to how similar adult actors are to mufti. 1st they porn stars dont take requests they do what is trending, 2 there is absolutely no parasocail relationship being developed between porn stars they're might be for cam stars but those are not popular at all. I dont know how thats supposed to say that looking at people who expose themselve on the internet is the same as looking at a normal person's private parts which is very inappropriate . All these problems you mentioned dont come from porn itself it comes with how society and toxic masculine voices have harmful impacts on young men's outlook on sex and porn.

      @@qwite9309
"porn is only harmful when its abused to the point which it starts changing the way you look to sexuality"
but when does that start though ? the first video ? the 100th ? 100000th ? you know that most people who start watching porn start at a very early age, early even pre teen, wouldn't just a couple or a dozen videos be enough to influence, in a radical ways the views of someone in their late teens ? not to mention most people who started watching as children..
"While my point was that porn does not teach people to be like that its a whole social stigma that is taught to "masculine" men."
i think the biggest flaw in your reasoning when it comes to porn and toxic masculinity is that you separate them and treat them as individual concepts that are not related to one another, while there's a clear feedback loop between them..
"..averting your gaze meant in the context of looking at someones parts in person. Not for people you have no knowledge of..."
you separate the two because of porn objectifying the women being watched and reducing them only to bodies..
in other words the way you made that statement, you already reduced the women on the screen to only a products to satisfy a desire..and that is the problem with porn in a nutshell, people could easily apply that way of seeing others to real life, and yes they are sick but you could never say porn had nothing to do with that either.
"1st they porn stars dont take requests they do what is trending"
they do, at least cam girls absolutely do..also depending how you view markets you could say that trends are a kind of requests by the customers.
"2 there is absolutely no parasocial relationship being developed between porn stars they're might be for cam stars but those are not popular at all"
of course there is, like why are they popular? what is the purpose of focusing only on the women in action? and mostly filming from the males pov ?
"I dont know how thats supposed to say that looking at people who expose themselves on the internet is the same as looking at a normal person's private parts which is very inappropriate"
i don't know your religious background, but in Islam, a mark for morality and ethics depends on what is done in private, and what is not done even though you can get away with it..that is what one should focus on and evaluate privately for the most part, because you could never know or at least it's hard to know the reason why you don't do "evil" things...
a simple example would be.. did you not take advantage of so and so because you're afraid of other peoples reaction and being called names, or is it because you believe it's wrong?

First of all there is no contact prayer at all in deen. Secondly mosques were for other purposes. 3rdly All the Hadith you mentioned are made up to disgrace the prophet, companion and deen. Quran clearly specify for women how to veil themselves. How can companions of the prophet do otherwise by indulging in co ablution. Performing collective ablution will make the parts of body of women which are ordered by Allah almighty to be covered, gets exposed to be seen by men.

My question to you is what evidence do you have that this was a common practice among all layfolk?
