Fascinating and relevant conversations. I've always wondered how hajj could be mixed gender but schools and work are required to be separated by sex. It's created a lot of sexual tension in countries that adapt this way of life where any woman is harassed and hit on relentlessly by men. It's much less of a problem to be a single woman in public in Western countries. Too bad everyone is so fanatical that even a conversation on this topic would tear people apart. Maybe secularization is our only hope and then re introduce authentic Islam?
