for those of you who didnt understand the conversation with his father, Joel was telling him that things werent going very well with his girlfriend and his dad told him a deeply personnal story about a similar situation he found himself in and it turned out to be pretty insightfull advice. He then told him he loved him no matter what and Joel told him he loved him too. pretty touching conversation

Knowing that I never had a relationship like this with him and never can again, breaks my heart, but it just makes me happy that it exists in the world. I know you recently lost Jack and I'm so sorry for your loss, Joel. Thank you for putting out videos, still, and showing us these times from your life.

We didn't have a youtube channel, or record skits together, but the bond was very much the same.

How I talk to both of my parents: in an incredibly judicious, bland, and milquetoast way, as to avoid accidentally saying something that may anger them, give them cause to criticize me, or give them ammunition that they may later use against me, and consequently sanitizing my personality around them so much that they don't know anything about me.
This is a mistake. Remember they are supposed to love you and if they can’t accept you and love you as you are that is a flaw in them not you.
You'll be out of there one day. Life won't always be like this.

they transferred the memories and consciousness of his father into his mother's mind (in whose physical body two distinct entities are housed) before the father's JoelHaverphrenia took over completely over the activities of the brain.
Now all that's physically left of Joel's father is what we saw in the video.
Joel has the same inherited disease, but being still in an early state he can still speak the common language.
