I have a standard run Van Nuys traditional S style and it's one of my all time favorite guitars, absolutely love the satin roast maple neck and finger board Tuners are rock solid, 2 point trem works excellent, very good pickups All around wonderful versatile instruments
Thanks so much for your posts, I appreciate them being in high-definition 1440 by default, I spend a small portion of my day turning on HD, nice to see clearly now ;)
PT does stand for Pete Townshend. He was the flagbearer for Schecter a billion years ago and played their T-style guitars, so now all their T-style guitars are branded as PT.
mark Knopfler was using them at the same time. I seen Townsend use one for a performance of Eminence front but i expect he used them extensively for recording.
Pete was never an official figure for Schecter but they did some clever marketing work and made it look like he was. Mark Knopfler had quite a few different Schecters but his main ace in the 80s was the candy red dream machine strat.
Yes the PT was modeled after a Pete Townsend Tele that Schecter made for him back in the day. Schecter makes really nice guitars. Even their more budget friendly models are superb.
I own two strats a PT fastback and NJ Strat and having owned some custom shop stats and lot more expensive guitars I sold most but still have the two schecters they are just amazing value for the price amazing!
schecter is definitely killing it right now great value for the price & premium features, and i know we’re getting a lefty version unlike Fender and jackson and Charvel and Ibanez, schecter even offers signature models in a lefty version 🤘🏼🎸🎶 schecter and kiesel ( just ordered a lefty thanos) both offer almost the entire line lefty 🤘🏼
Pete is blossoming into a proper curmudgeon. Funny how the hills are covered in snow and your path was uphill both ways when you were younger. THe PT sounded great btw.
Very nice guitars and jams gentlemen. I lived in Van Nuys for some years, it's very suburban and not the best of Los Angeles mainly just homes, apartments and small businesses.
Ok, fair play, Pete probably spent every waking non-working hour of his younger days woodshedding, but bloody hell Pete Townshend helped put Shecter on the map in the 80s with his black and gold-top T-styles.
Of all bands I wouldn't have thought have become Schecter artists (after their heavy use of Fender and Gibson), The Cure - with a cool Bass VI variant, and Simon Gallup's basses.
Those are so killer, but I already have 3 Schecter NJ Traditionals (S style), and a couple PTs, But that PT is killer with the body bevel and belly carve, plus the trem? Wow
Schecter quality is second to none, anyone that gets these or any other will be really happy with it. Got the syn gates custom with sustainiac and holy shit the guitar is insane, features wise compared to the overpriced G brand that shall not be named lol
I'll name them: Gibson is assho That being said, Schecters only real market is teenage boys with their copious usage of abalone and cringe inlays. And in my honest experience, schecter is really hit or miss when it comes to their fretwork. LTD is the best bargain brand, imo.
I scored my Synyster Gates for 500 shipped with case and an upgraded trem block. Easily the nicest guitar I own, I call it my surgeons scalpel because it just feels so precise.
I own two Schecter guitars. Both probably out of the same factory as my Ibanez and LTD, but the Schecter guitars feel more premium, better made, and solid. I feel they offer more for the price than rivals.
That factory is World Music, and they make great guitars if you ask me. ESP, Agile, and Schecter all made in the same factory in Korea. I've never gotten a bad guitar from them personally.
@@DudeMcGuybro My LTD and one Schecter is from WMI, however my Ibanez Premium and other Schecter are from Cort in Indonesia. I've had PRS SE and a Chapman from WMI and they were beautifully made.
Schecter Van nuys is where is all began (and ended.) They were sold off in the 80s and now the only similarity is the name/branding/looks. They make great stuff now but dont compare at all..
The original Strat types had scratch plates & locking trem systems. So these are a double disappointment. Just look at Andy Taylor’s at Live Aid. Or Jamie West-Oran’s in The Fixx’s Red Skies video. These seem half arsed. At least the Fender Boxer reissues got most of it right.
Really love the way this group of presenters has developed over the past few years. Thanks for the vids!
Me too, wasn’t sure about digital john initially but he’s getting good at this lark now, a superb addition to the channel.
Really nice to see much more content with John hosting with Pete . Deep knowledge and impressive af shredding skills .

Watching digital John makes me realise I need to brush up on my chops. 😭 Man's a beast
"It's a real amp, John." Oh, *_SNAP!!!_* "Danish" Pete "Digress" Honoré been sharpening up his tongue, I see.
It's a big ooof right there
Schecter guitars are a great value. The Schecter Guitar's with the Sustainiac pickup are a lot of fun
Everytime i play a Schecter and not even the expensive ones it just feels quality
Pete Townshend used a Schecter tele in the 80s. Hence the "PT". See the Eminence Front video.

Schecter is killing it! That T-body is fantastic.
Pete sure has some swagger in his walk and talk! Amazing how much different they both sound, "it's in there hands".

Love these guitars. Tried the natural finish strat one a while back. Such a great model!!

One of Mark Knopflers most celebrated live performances was done using a Schecter Strat. Tunnel of Love at Wembley mid 80's, its a superb solo.
Love these two duo; talented chaps indeed. Greetings from California. And yes, Van Nuys is located in Los Angeles. It’s my neck of the woods.
Hello, SKOM! Greetings from Thousand Oaks! I grew up and lived in The Valley until 5 years ago.

I have the Van Nuys strat in the amber stain. It's a killer guitar.
The old gold top PT Diamond Series was a beast. Similar dimensions.
Started by David Schecter around 76 , he Originally made spare parts for Fender/Gibson.
Pete is blossoming into a proper curmudgeon. Funny how the hills are covered in snow and your path was uphill both ways when you were younger. THe PT sounded great btw.

Hello, Guy! Greetings from Thousand Oaks!
Big big fan of these! (and Schecters in general)
also 4:19 shoutout premier guitar lol

Ive got an original early 70s schecter strat its my favourite guitar i own. Im sure its got the same monster tone pickups in it
I'm in Michigan. And I watch all ur stuff very informative and great playing 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸✌️thanks
Of all bands I wouldn't have thought have become Schecter artists (after their heavy use of Fender and Gibson), The Cure - with a cool Bass VI variant, and Simon Gallup's basses.
Schecter never disappoints
"This is a real amp, John" had me laughing.
Looking for this comment. Hahaha. Love the banter

Lee's playing is really coming alo..... oh wait...
Lol
Dig John is an epic player tasteful 👌
Thursday morning and Digital John almost makes this shit job i have slightly bearable. Fuck yeah
these sound great! glad they dont have roasted necks, guitars start to have a plucky pick attack and different tone with roasted necks!

Schecter have got rid of a lot of the abalone now I think!
Waouwww !!! I am in love ... with the type T Schecter !!! SO GORGEOUS !!! 😍😍😍🤘🤘🤘👍👍I love that brand anyway.
It's the magnet slugs that are PHAT... not the coils.

Watch the Who's "Eminence Front" video...both playing PT Shecters
No school like old school. 👍
Nice!
"Because its a real amp john.." 🤣
Both Pete and Roger playing the Schecter PT: ruclips.net/video/KI_npEyjgxA/видео.html
Pole pieces not coils
Schecter makes some of the most underrated guitars, nothing made in China.👊🏻
John Browne is a schecter artist now.
PT is for Pete Townshend 👍🏻🔥😎💯
Danish Pete goes both ways, I always thought so?
they look sorta like sun valleys? new? custom? limited? LOLOLOLOLOLOLO good one
Guitars have become like cars: Difficult to tell one from another! It's about time someone came up with something different, even if only in shape.
When you SEE the Hollywood sign Van Nuys is on the other side a few miles.
Hello, Lady! Greetings from Thousand Oaks!
Love schecters
Oh it's Digital John who appears to be an analog person
Schecter Van nuys is where is all began (and ended.) They were sold off in the 80s and now the only similarity is the name/branding/looks. They make great stuff now but dont compare at all..
Pro guitar shop 😁
Just killer guitars
the PT does come from Pete Townsend

Jamie West-Oram apols typo.
I like them. But have not seen them in that color. Natural only.
Schecter PT stands for Pete Townsend, Roger and Pete played them. ruclips.net/video/rx6Zgz0TZuA/видео.html
Because everyone likes a guitar brand name that resembles sphincter
That intro sounds nothing like the 80's..dear me.. 👎🏻
@officia_andertons Get bent scamming bot. 🖕🏻
Nice guitars
