I really appreciate these reviews by Jonathan, because you not only get to hear the instrument on Overdrive and clean, but he takes the time to label the pickup combinations. And, of course, his playing is always inspiring. In terms of this guitar, sounds and looks nice. The Yamaha revstar series has an interesting answer to the volume drop off of coil split pickups. They call it a dry switch. Reverend Guitars have a similar switch, that has an even wider tonal variation than the revstar. Happy Easter! Peace be with you all.

I just played one today at my local Guitar Center. I was bending the holy s*** out of them, the guitar sounds🎶 killer🔥. In my opinion, it's the type of guitar, you plug into a amp, even on the clean Channel, and you just can't stop playing. The array of sounds on the clean Channel, just tweaking with the tone controls, was amazing, very good response to touch and pick attack.
Is it necessary to replace the bridge if u wanna use the tremolo more aggressively? I’m getting one of these beauties next weekend and i was thinking if i should get a Gotoh bridge with it
Its a beautiful guitar but its not much different from the Nick Johnston model besides aesthetics. Im surprised they didn't do more to differentiate the two models specs wise
Van Nuys is where Schecter built custom super strats for customers back in the late 70's and 80's. This guitar is a wonderful and affordable reproduction of those guitars - which easily sell for $10k and more today if you can find anyone willing to sell one. So the traditional reference is to the Van Nuys custom guitars which have been around for over 40 years.
Thanks for posting these videos, there's not many videos out there for these Van Nuys models. Jon is just TOO LouD!!, which model did you like better? This one or the PT?
amazing guitar put the pick ups are nothing to write home about, but that neck and look are incredible worth the price under $1000 but I dont think you get a case or a gig bag with it wich is a bummer too
Nice Playing Style, Great Guitar (wish a Guitar company would make a Guitar body with just One Piece of wood). New Sub, Teach me how to Solo, something for the Intermediate Player!
I’m comparing the single coils on this super strat with nick johnston and jack fowler models. It seems me to that the single coils on this is much warmer and hotter than the other two! Nick Johnston model has a very crispy fender sound, and Jack Fowler model stands out less in its split coil model. If I want a Fender style guitar that has better value than fender, I would go with Nick Johnston; if I want a guitar with a more Gibson like tone, I would go for Van Nuys
I have a small Suhr collection, and I know their catalog very well, sorry I cannot say the same, yet still this Schecter is surely a nice low cost guitar aiming at boutique specs. This competes very well with a Ibanez AZ premium, also MII. The only clear downside in the Schecter is the lack of SS frets and compound radius (14 inch is welcome on higher frets, no so much at lower frets where I mostly play chords).
I am a small man at 5’4”, I noticed that you have no problem with reaching for note and chords, is there a type of guitar brand or style that you just don’t enjoy playing?
@@jessebarrera159 Ok Jesse...my height is 5'9" And least favorite? There are no particular Brands or models..I just don't like to play on a poorly setup guitar.

Is it necessary to replace the bridge if u wanna use the tremolo more aggressively? I’m getting one of these beauties next weekend and i was thinking if i should get a Gotoh bridge with it
My advice is try it out for a few days..and let the guitar settle in..if the tuning still gives you problems..then go change the trem ✌♥
Between this and nick johnston diamond series which one is more preferable?
The NJ ✌️❤️
Do you prefer this Traditional model to the PT Van Nyes?
Fact is.. they both work for me ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud That's not fair! lol!
How do you expect me to think for myself!?😉
What would you rather have this guitar or Nick Johnston HSS?
The NJ for me ✌️❤️
Great review, regarding the frets. Are the frets S/S or N/S?
N/S
Great demo and playing
The tuning stability is very good
Is it a floating bridge ? Which can go both ways ?
Thanks
Yes you can float the bridge.. tremolo is stable ✌️❤️
Its a beautiful guitar but its not much different from the Nick Johnston model besides aesthetics. Im surprised they didn't do more to differentiate the two models specs wise
There are differences.. in terms of pickups and body wood
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I think this will be one of the big questions people will ask. Nick Johnston or PT Van Nuys.
The sound is good, but I wish there were other color options.
✌🏻❤️
Thanks for posting these videos, there's not many videos out there for these Van Nuys models. Jon is just TOO LouD!!, which model did you like better? This one or the PT?
Both! Lol
With this budget do you have something better to recommend or is this one fine?
This is great
Hi Jon, how does this compare to the Nick Johnston model.?
Different pickup configurations.. other than that, plays about the same ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud are the pickups the same as you put in your orange NJ?
@@johnboy10 no John.. they are not ✌️❤️
Hi Jon, wich one do you prefer between this one and the Nick Johnston, and why.
Thanks
I would still choose the NJ .. both guitars plays almost the same.. just different pickups and sounds✌️❤️
amazing guitar put the pick ups are nothing to write home about, but that neck and look are incredible worth the price under $1000 but I dont think you get a case or a gig bag with it wich is a bummer too
✌️❤️
Nice Playing Style, Great Guitar (wish a Guitar company would make a Guitar body with just One Piece of wood). New Sub, Teach me how to Solo, something for the Intermediate Player!
Thank you✌❤
I’m comparing the single coils on this super strat with nick johnston and jack fowler models.
✌️❤️
Witch Laney you 're playing?
No laney used in this video..✌❤
Witch amp do you own?
Do you prefer this one or the tele style model?
I like the tele more as it’s more unique✌️❤️
Going from squire to this guitar next!
Cool✌️❤️
peace n love brotha!
If ya had to pick one would take this Van nuys or the nick johnson?
I chose the NJ✌♥
I bet this guitar is a good as any Suhr out there.
✌️❤️
Maybe:), but no ss frets disqualifies it.
Sheesh Big Jon, tasty.
Thank you kindly ✌️❤️
all the reviewers seem to be getting a 1pc ash body….every retailer ive seen ships either a 2pc or a 3pc one
I have this piece from the shop..✌️❤️
Wow! You make that thing sing! I love the look and sounds of that guitar, but i don't particularly care for the look of pick up covers.
✌️❤️
schecter should pay you for this review
Lol... I’ll just settled for a guitar from them 😜✌️❤️
So if I get this guitar, I will sound like that? 😳
Lol why not!??
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I may have mentioned that I sprung for the Van Nuys PT after watching your video, and am very pleased with it.
Great playing, are you a little guy and is there a guitar that you do not like to playing.
I dont understand your question ✌💚
I am a small man at 5’4”, I noticed that you have no problem with reaching for note and chords, is there a type of guitar brand or style that you just don’t enjoy playing?
@@jessebarrera159 Ok Jesse...my height is 5'9" And least favorite? There are no particular Brands or models..I just don't like to play on a poorly setup guitar.
So your saying it don’t stay in tune because the nut ain’t right
Most guitars with trem system will always have problems with tuning.. big or small. It’s just the way i play.. of this guitar is mine, I will fix the nut by sanding of the sides of certain strings.. a simple fix
