      AWESOME...That sounds great to me! Great for you and absolutely wonderful to me because my top fell out as if I had had chemo, but I haven't just anesthesia-too much and medications that take out your hair...the doc prescribing the meds had no clue! He said just buy yourself a good wig! SERIOUSLY!!!! I'm in crisis mode! Getting older didn't/doesn't really bother me....nothing bothers me like losing my hair! Especially when everyone else-females in my family still have all their hair! Granted a little less thick,but all of their hair and poor poor pitiful me is near bald and baby fine in the top!
      Sorry for whining, but my hair is part part of me-not just hair! I know y'all get it!!!
      So,I want to do exactly everything...including use the same brands when n where possible!!!

    Hi!
    I am from India! I have been applying henna to my hair since I was 7 or 8, actually it's kind of common here. I have never chemically treated my hair. But thank you soo much for helping me to upgrade my henna routine. I have wavy hair and it has helped to make it more shiny and manageable in this humid weather.

      MAITRI MINAR hennasooq channel has really good videos on recipes as well. Curly proverbs uses their products but they have how tos as well. I use henna to dye my hair so I mix a table spoon of aloe Vera powder and 1 or 2 tablespoons of Amla per 100gram package right in with the henna while I wait for dye release. I mix it with hot tea water. Tea is acidic enough. No need for lemon or vinegar it’s too drying. Aloe powder helps with moisture and slip. Makes it easier to apply.

    I use amla and neem powders mixed with warm water well, then I add olive, coconut oils, my favorite deep conditioner and a little bit of fresh aloe Vera that juice my self. I left this on for 4 hrs unintentionally. The result was amazing 😉. Thanks for the inspiration. Your channel is amazing. I have done it 2x now. My hair has never felt so amazing, the curl definition was. So amazing. I think I will continue to do this monthly.

    I swear by your recipes! I started using the henna gloss + oil + tea recipes (can’t find that video you made) and my hair has completely TRANSFORMED! Curls are super popping and healthy and LONG… I can’t thank you enough for your recipes! 🥰😍 I’m trying to pass it to my cousin but I can’t find that video… I’ll just use this one because it will do. Also, aloe Vera is by far an absolutely Must ingredient and castor oil is the best oil for hair growth. Don’t worry about the smell, I have customized my recipes with lavender oils or more peppermint to mask the fenugreek smell (for others) I don’t care or mind the smell. Thanks CurlyProverbz 😊

    In India you’ll find tons of ready to use henna masks and very affordable (less than $3). After watching your video I ordered a hair pack with 7 herbs mix (Henna, Amla, Fenugreek, Hibiscus, Neem, Bhringraj and shikakai). I’ll mix it with aloe and oil before applying. So excited. Thank you for connecting me to my roots. I tried your hair growth oil and I loved it. I’ve been using it for over 2months now and I can see a difference in my hair texture. It’s helped with dandruff also I believe. Not sure. Since I also use bentonite and kaolin clay mask every 2 weeks as well. But whatever it is my new routine which is all natural and inspired by you is working so good.

    I watched so many videos yesterday trying to find one that had the ingredients I had, unfortunately I didn't have them but I had some so I said hey let me just mix what I have and some oils. It was so messy!! And a task to wash out. I went to sleep with my hair half dry. Only applied two leave ins, didn't do my usual shabang, just enough to give it a little moisture. I had my hair in a bonnet from yesterday night till now, I just took it out and my hair is shining! My curls look tighter! It's full! I am so shocked my hair looks amazing and this was just one application!!!!! Omg I have been missing out. I literally stood in the mirror for five minutes analyzing my hair and looking at how shiny and healthy it looked

I love this so much that I’m going to use it every four weeks! Thank you, CP, for saving my hair! You are truly a blessing. 🤗🤗
    Btw - In addition to the powders that you mentioned, I also used fenugreek powder. And I used a combined quarter of a cup of aloe vera oil and olive oil. Lastly, instead of using plain water, I only used aloe vera juice to mix the mask and WOW WOW WOW!!!! I added NO conditioner to the mask and my hair was completely detangled and soft and relaxed and i became in love with my hair all over again. 🙏

      Hi Curly Proverbz! I've been immersing myself in your awesome educational hair tutorials. Thank you for sharing so much great content! I've been applying the oils however reluctant to apply henna because of the change in hair color. Nevertheless I need to color this gray. I recently purchased Cassia and indigo as well as avocado powder. Do you think I can add henna for its benefits without it affecting color or is that too much? Also is it ok to apply the henna mask 8 weeks after a salon color rinse?

    I started using henna in October and my hair grew 6 inches and is soooo soft.
    We just moved to a new house this month and the water here is hard water which is taking a major toll on my skin and hair. I am going to try to make some shampoo and conditioner with a few herbs you have mentioned like shikaikai and marshmallow root!
    A lot of your tips help my 2 year old's super curly hair too. We're both whiteys but this stuff works! I just have to be careful on when I use oils and what oils I use cause my hair us so thick; it kinda weighs it down sometime.
    Anyway if you have any tips on hard water (high mineral content), I would love to hear them.
    You're awesome!

      I think it was water because, at the beginning of the video, she shares reviewers suggesting to swap out the water for Aloe Vera Juice instead. My confusion was with the amount of oil: 1/4c total Olive/Avocado oils combined or 1/4c of each oil?

      I mixed mine with Aloe Vera juice. And I used 1/4 cup of Olive and Avocado oils combined since you don’t want to use too much oil as it counters the Henna.

    where can I go to purchase your products? by the way your super hair growth oil with the fenugreek seeds grew my hair at least 2 inches in 2 months and I didn't even use the henna due to me having colored hair. Thank you so so much girl. I'm still trying to grow the front of my hair longer to catch up with the back of my hair and I use the oil on my husbands hair to help grow his hair in certain areas.

    Hello girl, I found u 3 days ago and I'm absolutely mesmerized by you. By the passionate way you explain the properties of herbs, and off course your accent, perfection lol. I'm Brazilian but live in Florida, and never used this before. I cannot find Jamila henna near me, only Mehndi brand, it is good enough?Please please please help meto decide what to use; Aphogee 1&2 steps protein treatment or Henna. I'm shedding like crazy, it is very depressing. I don't know if I will ever grow a long hair like yours, but thank God your life in demystifying that black hair doesn't grow.

    I have done a full henna/indigo treatment to colour my hair. How long do I need to wait to use henna glosses and how often. I plan to use the henna/indigo in another 4-6 wks as I've seen recommend. I just want to respect these powders and not overuse them to the detriment of trying out my hair. I guess I'm asking how out to do glosses in between doing a colour treatment! Hope you can respond to this older post. Thank yoi in advance and looking out for the Feb 2018 challenge.

      christine1962ful Girl finally someone using indigo. How is that working for you? I want my hair to stay black and was afraid that reddish henna tint + blue/purple indigo= purple hair. I am in Alaska and very dry here and losing hair ever since I moved here. I need strength and moisture badly.

    • @janicejonessanders
      @janicejonessanders 6 лет назад +1

      @Christine1962ful, she recommended that you do the hair glosses every week in between doing the intense treatment which should be done every six weeks to one month. If you are just starting out using Henna, Cassia, Indigo and the other powders i.e. Alma, Shikakai, Brahmi,, you might want to consider doing a gloss first to see how your hair will handle it and then in six weeks do the full treatment. Just a recommendation. I would also cut down on the amount of the powders say for instance, instead of using 1/2 cup, use 1/3 or 1/4 cup and then increase as your hair becomes stronger.

    • @janicejonessanders
      @janicejonessanders 6 лет назад

      I did the Intense Henna Treatment on yesterday and slept in it overnight.
      I washed it out using very warm water only because I am doing the Water Only Hair Washing Method.
      I followed up with my Indigo. I used 1/3 cup of Indigo, Warm water and a pinch of salt. I let it sit for 20 minutes only for time release and applied it to my hair.
      I put on two conditioning caps and two grocery bags so no dripping and let it sit on my head for 3 hours.
      I rinsed my hair again using only very warm water to rinse it out and massaged my scalp and stritched and Preen my natural Sebum down the lengths of my hair.
      I wa going to use my Banana Baby Food to deep condtion, however, my hair did not need it.
      I used a little shea Butter on my lengths and sealed my ends with Jamaican Black Castor Oil after putting my hair in twists.
      My color is darker then I am use to because my hair has never been Black, however, I will try this a gew times to see how my gray coversge around my edges takes.
      So far, so good.

You mentioned it briefly on how to retain your hair color but I’m not sure if I understand it right?If combine this new routine with my weekly hair day (inc. shampoo, conditioner and deep condition) What would be the safest way to go about this? Sometimes with hair loss it not always products that you need.
      Look at your diet.
      Shedding can be caused by lack of Iron, protein, omega 3 and 6, vitamin D3, Zinc and magnesium.
      I suffered shedding and once I found out what I was lacking my shedding no longer exists.
      I hope this post helps.

    • @janicejonessanders
      @janicejonessanders 6 лет назад +3

      @Nyrshea Williams RHIT, CCS, if you want your hair to stay black, you will need to do what is called the two step process. The first day, you can use the Henna treatment that Curly Proverbz recommended above for the strengthening. If you do not want any change in color, do not use the Henna, use the Cassia only and the remaining ingredients, you could substitute the Henna with Alma and use the Cassia and other ingredients. Cassia is what is referred to as "Neutral" Henna. Some people attest to it, I have heard others say it is not the same as Henna. However, with everything, there is a trial and error period and you have to test it out for yourself to see how it works for you. Step 2 - You will do the next day. This is using the Indigo. Now I am going to say, PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRODUCT OR GOGGLE HOW TO PREPARE AND USE INDIGO ON AFRICAN AMERICAN NATURAL HAIR. Once you prepare your Indigo, you are only suppose to let it sit for 20 (twenty) minutes and then apply it directly to your hair. I believe it only takes 2 hours for it to do the trick with giving you that Black or darker color and it will cover your greys. I have the same issue with greys around my edges as well.
      Also, check out some other You Tubers who strictly use Cassia, Alma and Indigo to cover their greys and strengthen their hair.
      You can do this treatment once a month or every six weeks and use other powders like Alma, Shikakai, Brahmi, Aritha, Neem (These are all Hesh Brands and can be purchased on line at Amazon.com for about $13.00) and use one or two of the powders to make a Hair Mask to include your favorite Moisturizing Deep Conditioner and some oils if you like adding oils to your mixes (Olive, Castor, Sweet Almond, Avocado, Grape seed, Castor Oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil etc., I would use only one or two oils and a few drops of your favorite Essential Oils like Peppermint, Lavender, Rosemary, etc.
      Use Curly Proverbs recipe or tweet your own and make you an herbal hair tea to use once or twice a week for additional strengthening.
      These are only suggestions and I hope this helps. Find other naturals who have similar hair pattern as you and see how they use henna, powders, herbs and teas to grow out their locks. Two of my favorite are Dawn Michelle , who has a hair blog The Minimalist ( www.minimalistbeauty.com/category/hair/ ) and Curly Nikki (CurlyNikki.com)
      Please keep in touch and let me know how things go. I reached out because I use to be in the U.S. Air Force and when I was in, especially overseas, there were no one who could do African American Hair, even when I had a relaxer, so I know how it can be. You can reach me at Janice.Jones.Sanders@gmail.com All the best to you and your natural hair journey. Janice

      NJ CAMOCUTIE all 3 contain similar ingredients. The mask and gloss strengthen and moisture hair - length retention. The mask is a stand alone product you just follow the recipe. It can be difficult to work with cause of the henna.The gloss which she sales is pre-made, add-on product, add it to your conditioner or even the mask. The oil is used on your scalp for hair growth stimulation, just massage into your scalp. Hope this helps!!
