@LowBrowFishing I have to video suggestions for ya that id love you to do one is what lures do you bank fish withe when its windy and the second i what lures would ya use for florida bank fishing now and going into the winter month
@@ReelRobFishing When it's super windy, I'm probably going to have a chatterbait or spinnerbait tied on to start and see what happens from there. If those fish are active, a hard jerkbait can also be a great choice, even from the bank. Those work all year long.
@@ReelRobFishing There are quite a few options, but I'd start with something simple like a Rebel Minnow. They are a great budget lure and are quite effective. I'm also quite fond of the Yozuri 3DB. No need to get fancy with it.
I've used a wacky rig on a dropshot it works great. Faster retrieve in warmer weather works. Letting dropshot sit 3 to 5 seconds then tap handle. Let it sit 3 to 5 seconds lift rod tip a couple inches let it fall. Then let it sit 3 to 5 seconds tap handle let it sit. Then 1 last time lift rod tip a few inches. If no bites slow drag an reel a couple inches let it sit repeat pattern. I usually don't do this pattern no more than 3 to 4 times max. Working this all the way back to you. If it's really hot longer pauses between tapping handle and lifting rod tip just a couple inches. 5 to 12 seconds when it's really hot or cold. In warmer or hot weather a 8 inch leader works. Generally no more than a 16 leader. In the fall I use an 18 to 24 inch leader max. More than 24 inches it's harder to cast.
A wacky worm is just such a great setup. I use it all the time. It took me years to be able to be patient enough but when I got that part down I caught so many more fish than I ever thought I could.
I love it! I fish the wacky rig quite often! Have never tried that trick, but definitely going to!! Thanks as always for sharing some great information buddy!
For years I’ve actually done this same thing- cut the ends of a worm to get “tentacles” but I do it to one end and throw it on a shakey head and you’re right- idk what it is about it but it gets bit. I’ve thought of doing it to both sides and wacky rigging it but I have no reason to ruin my baits -yet- as the wacky rig on a senco just never fails when I’m jones’n for a bite
A good one for sure! For years I used an insert tube head as my weighted wacky setup. A low-budget option for me at the time. We headed to highs in the 40s next week. Yikes!
I learned in a weird way today, cast my wacky rig out and the line on my reel went wonky. Took me an extra 30sec to pull it straight and then bam, theres the bass!
I've caught more fish than I can count when I was picking out a backlash. Those fish want it really slow sometimes and I can be too impatient to wait, lol!
I have a tendency to use a necko rig more than whacky style I just have more confidence with it , maybe I just need to try a little more and stick with it and I have not had much luck with a jig head.
A neko is a great technique for sure! Sometimes it can be hard to fish a wacky because of how slow you have to go. Things like line type and hook size really matter since you don't have much weight with it. I know I can get too impatient at times.
I went to a local pond yesterday and reeled in a couple of people's broken off baits and both was a wacky rigged sinkos. I guess alot of people use the wacky rig. Thanks
Great video, I am new to your channel and really enjoy the content. I’m going to try a 1/32 pegged weight above the hook and fished it Wacky style. It should work well in windy conditions also.
Sure, if that's what is more comfortable for you to use. If you noticed, I use a spinning combo for working a jerkbait and that has a medium power rod.
I watch these videos, not just yours but all I come across and apply the tips, not sure if im doing them all wrong or what but in my area none of them help
How often do you fish with a wacky rig? Do you love it? Hate it?

@@LowBrowFishingWhat's a good Jerkbait to throw from the bank?

Agree 100%!
Watched a few of your videos. Very informative and straight to the point!!! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
Love this! Thanks so much! I have a few bitsy bug jigs that's may work for just a bit lighter presentation.
You can't go wrong with a bitsy bug. Those little jigs are so versatile.
I love it! I fish the wacky rig quite often! Have never tried that trick, but definitely going to!! Thanks as always for sharing some great information buddy!
I think it'll work really well for you! Thanks for watching!
Those are great tips! I mostly fish with a spinning rod so I can't wait to try them out! Great video!
Awesome! Thank you!
A small split shot a foot down sinks it slow as well. Take care from northern ontario
Great tip!
Definitely look into this set up

Wacky rigs are great for getting tough bites!

It's been so long, I think I've forgotten what real cold weather is really like. It's supposed to be above 80 for a while yet here.
Slow and easy is the best way I know how to fish a worm. Can't ever go wrong with a purple curly tail worm
I've caught tons of fish working a worm super slow!
Loving the big Lake!!!!🤓 and Loving the BIG BOAT!!!🚢🤠 Cool tips as always👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Great new whacky rig set up. Thanks for the tip 👊😎
I'm happy you liked it!
Cutting the worm up like that is a really neat idea! I'm stealing that one!
I think you'll really like it!
Awesome video!, thanks for the tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!! Thanks for those awesome tips. Looking forward to next season to give then a try!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!

The wacky rig is my favorite go-to rig for bass fishing. But wacky rig with a jig head... okay? I will be trying this on my next trip out. Thank .
I've caught tons of fish with it!
I went to a local pond yesterday and reeled in a couple of people's broken off baits and both was a wacky rigged sinkos. I guess alot of people use the wacky rig. Thanks
It's a popular technique for sure!
This will be my first year using a wacky rig set up....ive been a shaky head guy for awhile but i want to learn something new
Wacky rigs are great fish catchers!
I never had the patience to work a wacky rig. I have a hard time leaving it be. That weighted wacky is a good option.
It's hard to be patient and work it slowly, but it really pays off when you do!

Welcome aboard! That sounds like something that might work well!
@LowbrowFishing what are your must have lures for newer people to bass fishing who bank fish?
Oh, that's easy...Texas rigged stickbait is at the top of the list. A wacky rig or a jig is a close second. Those work great from the bank!
Would a medium spinning rod or medium casting rod work ?
Sure, if that's what is more comfortable for you to use. If you noticed, I use a spinning combo for working a jerkbait and that has a medium power rod.
Retro Sent me. Happy he did👍
Awesome! Thanks for stopping by!
Nice tips, I thought maybe I was the only one splitting the tails down ! guess not !
It works really well!

Practice and patience are the two biggest tips I can offer. Don't give up! You'll have that "AHA!" moment when it all comes together!
A wacky rig is right up there with a ned rig for me
It's hard to beat a wacky rig!
It’s my least favorite to fish, but I have landed more bass with it than anything.
Wacky rigs get it done!
I don't take advice from any bass fisherman who uses a spinning reel. Just kidding, great tip! But I still think a baitcaster are the way to go.
Thanks for watching!
If you think it should be illegal, then why are you telling folks about it?
