- In episode 6, our last one of our Sky Princess Norwegian Fjords Cruise Vlogs we arrive in our last port of Stavanger and it's Gala night. More frustrations with the app and we put the Princess tech to the test with an England v USA App Off!
We cruised on the Sky Princess in June 2022 from Southampton to Bergen, Olden, Skjolden and Stavanger in Norway.

Finally sat down to watch this- I quite liked the picture-in-picture aspect with which you introduce Stavanger.

Definitely would recommend the wee scooters dotted about everywhere in Stavanger, so easy to use and about £5 for a whole day!

I had two problems with the app. 1) we noticed fewer bar staff in public areas which meant we HAD to use the app 2) we actually go on holiday to GET AWAY from tech and don’t want to be glued to phones and tablets all day. It’s disappointing, although we understand the company needs to adapt for future travellers.
Totally agree, we love the banter with staff and would rather not use the tech, though know younger Cruisers much prefer the tech! Guess we are old school lol!
Agree about the ship being inward looking, oh for a crows nest.
App worked great for us 😯

I gave Princess feedback about the app whilst on Sky in August and received a letter back in my stateroom apologising for how terrible their app is!!

I have to agree the app is absolutely rubbish but we are firm princess people and love the ships and crew and just grab friendly bar-staff to take our order.
Exactly that, we had a fabulous cruise....sometimes it's best just yo forget the tech!
I love your vlogs! We’ve sailed on Sky this year and I agree with your thoughts. App = great when it works. Ship - lovely, service - excellent. I feel the same about the lack of outward looking windows.

Had the unfortunate experience of that app on a recent cruise I'll say no more in fear of being banned.
Myself and my wife's main concern is how this must be affecting staff morale we really felt sorry for them especially at the guest reception.

Loved this series, I love your video's generally so I thought it was about time to leave a comment and say Hi.I love your accents and you are both so funny! It will be my first time on a princess cruise next year onboard Sky. I have only ever cruised with P&O before. I know they are part of the same overall company (Carnival Group PLC) would you say they are quite similar or different? Also I was wondering if you are allowed to keep your medallion door key at the end of the cruise? as I have kept all of my P&O Cruise Cards as Souvenirs. Thanks for the great videos😀

Little aside to say thanks for the laundrette tour and info as well - this sort of info is invaluable to us and other parents of young children (especially in the run up to formal night 😅).
It's a huge shame that the app has gone downhill! Perhaps the issue is the number of passengers onboard/using it at once?

My last Princess cruise I ate at GiGiS quite a few times but never did Salty Dog
We had great food throughout!
We did Enchanted in August to Spain and France and ate one lunchtime at Gigi's and I'm afraid the pasta I had was awful! Totally tasteless and dry. Partner's pizza was skimpy on toppings so not convinced its anything like as good as Alfredo's :-( other venues were OK food so bit of a surprise

Hi Paula, cruise lines and cruise ships are so different depends on what is important to you e.g food, entertainment, do you like dressing up, adult only, budget. Keep watching the videos to see if you like a particular ship or line. Evening Paul and Carole, please could help. We going on the P&O Lona on the 15/04/2023 to Norway 7 days outside cabin. We was going with our 2 sons unfortunately they can't make. My wife as very poor mobility so alot of the excursions she can't do. Is it easy to get off to do our own thing. So we are thinking of moving our cruise to P&O Britannia for the same month going to Spain and Portugal for 12 days and a balcony for the same price. We have been to some of ports on the Britannia cruise before and is easy for my wife to get off and do thing together. Any advice would be great.
Hi Sean, oh that's a shame. Depends on your itinerary in Norway, most ports can be explored with mobility issues. Though must admit 12 nights heading south to some sunshine for the same price and a balcony cabin would be a good option!

@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel I've been watching your videos for about 2 years. We normally go on Marella Cruises, booked for next October on the Voyager. But we thought we were trying P&O as Marella don't go to Norway. I think we will change to Britannia
