What a wonderful human being to be able to express those heavy thoughts into such a beautiful and eloquent song. Mr. McLaughlan is one of the most under-rated Canadian musicians and I think he's okay with that. Those who know, know.
Heard you sing this song tonight, Murray. First time I've heard it. Moved me to tears. You captured my reality so perfectly. May the rain fall in torrents.
Thanks Murray- what you express is ever so relevant today. I appreciate your contribution to the music culture in Canada and your thoughtful expressions of feelings about the issues .
Personal responsibility is hard to grasp, or take on. "Everyone else is to blame" people say. People must take responsbility for their actions and live right.
Brilliant song, but the video - with those great close-ups of Murray McLauchlan really brings home the extent of privilege and takes it to another level altogether. I'm due to play the song on Folk Roots Radio. I'll definitely post the video at the same time.
After hearing this song in person, I was inspired to paint the feelings it evoked. I would have liked to share it with Mr. McLauchlan but unfortunately and for good reason, it's not that easy to do so.
Murray is not Scottish or British. He is the King of Canada as Singer. He has been aged to look 100 years old with white hair by a Spirit mistaking him as British. He needs to be released by the Spirit so he does not look so old anymore. He is the same age as Cher!

I couldn't agree agree more. It is still happening.

Great song, really helps me with my own inner dialogue on this important matter.

I think Warren z channeld Murray on this one. Best Canadian songwriter along with the two Gords
Great stuff!
Beautiful.
Pretty heavy thoughts.
Another thoughtful beauty from Mr M !
For all the people who think injustices are a thing only of the past.
Wonderful...
He looks like Bryan Cranston.
