    A trick I learned was to fill the diff with gear lube then jack one side up lube the axle rearing then jack the outher side lube that axle bearing then level it re check and done no dry axle bearings. Real important of full floating rear ends.

      When you cleaned the gears prior to welding you were using a can of cleaner, don’t use chlorinated brake cleaner on something that you would need to weld on, the heat from welding will turn the brake cleaner into phosgene gas and will kill you if inhaled.. please be careful

    Thank you Northern tool. Hard to beat (or kill) an old Ford truck, and when you add in the Dana axles front and back with 4.88 gears, it may not go fast with a 300-six, but it will keep going.

    I have seen 4 barrel intakes,home made side draft carbintake and a efi manifold adapted to run a 4 barrel carb .

      That would be awesome. It runs great it just needs a little fine tuning. A good carb rebuild would go a long way.

      @@ThePenn7 not easily done in the wild. @sallysspeedshop got me some from a gas station in Alabama. You can find them on Amazon but they aren’t cheap.

    I had a 1977 Ford F 250 Camper Special. I had to weld all new floors and stuff.
    I went through some woods like yours, it would run over pretty good-sized trees up to 3 to 5 inches. lol, it was a blast. 4 low baby.''✌

    Even when they are a cobbled together conglomeration of mismatched parts those old Fords are nearly indestructible. Thanks Northern Tool for providing tools and supplies us regular people can actually afford. I've been looking at various jacks for my vehicles and seeing this one has helped me narrow it down. I just need to know the approximate weight before making a purchase as I have severe back trouble which is why I need to get a light weight hydraulic jack

    I had a 1971 Ford f100 2 wheel drive with a limited slip rear that I changed from a automatic to a 4speed truck trans with a 302. I drove for years. It was a really good truck.

    I had a 82 f150 was my mud/trail truck. Had a 300 six, 4 speed, 4.11 gears, lockers front and rear, 3 inch lift and 35s. She was a beast. I was the only one never to get stuck when me and my friends went out mudding. I feel ya with no power steering. Dad had a 75 f100 that didn't have power steering. Was fun plowing with it. Only option that truck had was am radio. The t-case didn't have 4 low only had 2 high and 4 high.

    I Love this truck! Just add a steel front bumper with a 12000lb winch some 35 37 inch tires a 4 speed floor shift! And an exhaust plus the rubber straps with the bars for lifting the front of vehicles so it dosnt run into the back of you and it be perfect! Love to get a 66-70 myself to build up! Love the channel man great job! Also it be cool I you made that toyota 4wd with 35s and lockers!!!! They fit anywhere it's just making it as durable as the ford!!! Really like the strong way jack you were right it picked the truck right up without sinking! Would love to owm it!!!! Keep up the great work Dillan!

    My grandfather is 69 Chevy at 350 I don't know how load the gears were, but you could put that thing in low range first gear. Pointed across the field and he would drive itself while people load to the tobacco wagon behind it. Got about 3/4 of the way walk up. Catch it gett in spinner around.

      Done that on the farm 🚜. Put the truck in 1st and just aim it straight and take the bales off to spread them out for the dry cows 🐄 to eat. Then when empty just hop in and drive back to the shop. 😊😊
