My son sent Ukulele on my 54th Birthday and sent me this link to learn to play this instrument. I am playing an instrument for the first time in my life. It's very useful. Thanks. God bless you and your family with peace and contentment.

Many tutorials on youtube go too fast, but the video is still long. You are such a good teacher that you explain the chords well, help with practice, and do it in under five minutes. Well done!!!

I know this is an older video but wow......I have been struggling with that G7 as if it was the source-of-all-evil on the ukelele. I play a tenor uke and tried so many other tutor sites. FINALLY, this progression has me locking in on the G7 and moving to it quickly enough to build speed doing it! Many thanks for this three-year-old (as of today) video! I only wish I had found it sooner.

Just picked up the ukulele because my church started a group. Bernadette's lessons are VERY HELPFUL because she is patient and slow and explains WHY she does what she does. Looking forward to learning more! Also love the chords showing up in the box over her shoulder !

  • @5877user

I was determined to start learning this song. Up til now I hated it because the only "teacher" close to me plays it too fast and her electric uke drowns us all out. Most people don't mind. But I'm not learning anything from her, or at least not nearly as much as I learn from Ms. B. Ms. B is making this song doable. Peace and lots of love, Ms. B.

+Lee Gibson hey, we all start somewhere. Even the guys in your pub group were beginners. I notice I grow and learn the most when I play with people who are better than me. I think joining asap would be the best for you. Showing up to the practice would be the toughest part. Once you're there, the rest is easy.

+Paul Rayson hey! There are two strumming patterns I use for this chord progression.
The intro section (before singing) uses pattern
      DUDUDUDU
(Down Up Down Up Down Up Down Up)
      Strumming Pattern 5
      The second pattern is
      DDUUD
      (Down Down Up Up Down)

You are so very beautiful and such a good teacher. Why not take some singing lessons? You have the ability and then you would have the whole enchilada!!!

Strumming pattern, please? I believe it's DUDUDU for the intro, but I can't figure it out after that. Thanks!
