Aloha uke friends!
I think The Lion Sleeps Tonight is the perfect song for learning the Chucking Strum. Because the verses are all pretty simple, I added some optional percussion to spice things up. The ukulele is a fantastic instrument for creating rhythm, so have fun with it!

Did you know "Wimoweh" is a mishearing of the original song's chorus of "Uyimbube"… Zulu for, 'You are a lion'. The song we know as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" or as "Wimoweh" was written in the 1920s by Solomon Linda a South African singer of Zulu origin. The name of the song was "Mbube" which is Zulu for "lion"
That is such a beautiful revelation, thank you for sharing
Wow, that's fascinating to know. Would you pronounce it "Oo-yim-boo-beh?
I just checked Google translate and the work you said translated into "he is a worm" lol. Idk why and you're probably right but I think it's funny.
Thanks for the information!
Very Interesting & Important History!❤ Enjoyed U3 at Yerba Buena yesterday.😊💜

I just started playing the ukulele and you can't imagine how much your videos are helping me. You are by FAR the best teacher on youtube. Thank you for that
Cynthia, this video is 4 yrs old so idk if you'll get this comment. But I only discovered you right before Christmas2021. I bought a guitarelele bc I used to strum a guitar. I started using the bottom 4 strings to play some simple uke music and I was hooked! Lol so I went to visit my daughter last week to snuggle my new granddaughter and bought a uke at a local guitar store there. I downloaded some of your collections and am practicing like a crazy person. Living the Uke life!! Thank you!!
Only just got a ukulele for Christmas from my wife loving it so far

Thank you Cynthia for your great lessons. It might sound strange, I'm playing guitar not ukulele and you are a great help in teaching me songs. All the basics of a song from beginning to the end, much better than the many guitar teachers out there. You are incredible.
Hey there Ms. Cynthia. Thank you so much for your videos and tutorials. I have found your videos by far the easiest to understand and play. This song is a little tricky for me but I'm gonna get there. Keep the videos coming.

Just played this for my kids. Tons of fun. Much thanks to you. Great teacher
My life has gotten sooo much better learning to play my Uke. I could not have done this without you and following your tutorials. This is just the very thing to do during this lock down. People are so missing out on all the fun. Following your instructions there is no reason for anyone to be able to learn to play. I come from a musical family although I got left out in that field. I can't thank you enough for helping me to actually play an instrument and feel that I am worthy of owing my little friend. Just so good!!
Thanks so much for teaching me how to add some flair! I have been learning the uke during quarantine and I this made it more fun!
Just bought my first ukelele last week. A bit advanced for where I'm at but I don't care. Just trying to play along brought a level of joy I haven't experienced since the start of the pandemic.
Hello enjoying your website. I am very new to the uke and trying out youtube and finding you has added so much more to my endeavour to learn. Thanks so much. Love it
I’d just finished a beginners course when lockdown started in the uk. I came across Cynthia by chance, and I’m really enjoying the lessons
