Did you know "Wimoweh" is a mishearing of the original song's chorus of "Uyimbube"… Zulu for, 'You are a lion'. The song we know as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" or as "Wimoweh" was written in the 1920s by Solomon Linda a South African singer of Zulu origin. The name of the song was "Mbube" which is Zulu for "lion"

I found my grandmother's ukulele. It is a CF Martin and I believe based on its brass frets, original bridge, and other features, it's likely dated late 1930's. It is in very nice condition, just had strings put on. As a surprise to my 79 yr. old father, I am learning to play it for a campfire sing a long this Thanksgiving : ) down in Tennessee. I was only a toddler when I remember grandma playing this ukulele. Fast forward 50 yrs (I'm middle aged now) and here I am playing a 75 yr old ukulele with my grandma's name on it! Your tutorials are very good for us beginners. I'm enjoying your lessons very much. Thank you.

My life has gotten sooo much better learning to play my Uke. I could not have done this without you and following your tutorials. This is just the very thing to do during this lock down. People are so missing out on all the fun. Following your instructions there is no reason for anyone to be able to learn to play. I come from a musical family although I got left out in that field. I can't thank you enough for helping me to actually play an instrument and feel that I am worthy of owing my little friend. Just so good!!

Cynthia, this video is 4 yrs old so idk if you'll get this comment. But I only discovered you right before Christmas2021. I bought a guitarelele bc I used to strum a guitar. I started using the bottom 4 strings to play some simple uke music and I was hooked! Lol so I went to visit my daughter last week to snuggle my new granddaughter and bought a uke at a local guitar store there. I downloaded some of your collections and am practicing like a crazy person. Living the Uke life!! Thank you!!
