This episode was directed by Mr. Shohei Tojo, who would be very well known for his bad temper.
The training scene was made by Mr. Ryu Manatsu himself, without stunts. And the brakes of the jeep were malfunctioning. Even then, the director said to go on anyway. So, Gen's desperation was quite real. I wonder if he had third toughts about taking the role upon shooting this one... Ultraman Leo was really made by Mr. Manatsu's flesh and blood.

I wonder why Gen did not henshin immediately to Leo to save Yoko-San. We saw the alien Karly stepped on yoko-san and end her life. So far the scene of a kaiju or alien stepping on humans is not shown in any ultra series. Even in godzilla movies, it is not shown until the most recently Godzilla Minus One.
This is the episode with one of the craziest plots

I feel Ultraman Leo series is similar to Ultra Seven series, focused about Seijin more than Kaiju. This Seijin, Alien Karly is one of the Seijin that can transform into Kaiju form instead of become giant size (i mean become giant size without change their appearance). So crazy episode. Keep forward, Ultraman Leo, the great master of Ultraman Zero 🤗!

Should've have been one of Seven's special attacks in the past fighting games.
It will return when Zero has to train to reach yet another new form
I feel like after Karly's case ended, Gen really needs like whole tablet of painkiller and five hours of mental therapy to deal with emotional pressure he's been too.
It's like everyone in this episode really tryna kill him or something. I know he messed up big time but goddamn it's like no one's there for him except his colleagues at school gym.
I don't like Dan's attitude towards him for most parts but I can't deny that this episode is really good at making us feel immense pressure with Gen. We all have time that we messed up big time one way or another and there'll be time that no one's with us at all. To see our hero being put in that situation made him feel very human because you and him now share that suffocating pain of being a failure together. The feeling of absolute uselessness. It did very good job on emotional level but I won't rewatch this any time soon.
If anyone is facing pressure or depression or feel like you're going through problem alone right now, just want to say that, you still have someone who's genuinely care for you. Someone who's willing to make your burden lighter, either physically or mentally. They might be someone you least expected. And please, do cry. Cry until you feel like you poured out everything you have inside your chest. But you gotta keep going, try to make things better from there.
Also, Omura-san is the best character in the show.

What the heck, wasn't expecting the infamous jeep episode to come so early. But there it is!
Which kind of car brand was the jeep Dan was trying to run Gen over with? Does anyone here know?
Regardless, Gen was kind of fault here today. Between not using his gun nor transforming into Leo earlier, he did screw up. But at the same time, Dan was way too harsh here.
you meant Gen, right? Yea, he was the worst body guard. He forgot his mission was to protect her and send her home. He could have call for help from the team when he saw an alien. Why would he stop the car? Why would he leave the girl by herself in the car? Why would he tell the girl to run if he is not luring the monster away? Why didn't he transform into Leo? I guess the girl just needed to die to bring out the main plot...poor girl...poor boyfriend..

It can be surprising how early famous stuff cna happen. I was personally surprised that Alien Baltan premiered in the very _second_ Ultraman episode.

10:27 -10:51 I used to think Dan is the worst Captain with a bad leadership skill who are sending MAC members to death by separating them to patrol (2 guys , 2 female operators(!!!?) and one sniper in four differenet areas) Now I understand him better 11:40 maybe as audience we are used to defense team members who never die, but if ir was a real military, it doesn't sound that crazy to sacrifice them or piut them into danger in order to motivating / maximizing the potential of the main weapon: Gen / Ultraman Leo. Reality is harsh but real.

It's kinda neat that Leo keeps running into aliens who effectively turn into kaiju when growing. It kinda gives them a sort-of monstrous Ultraman vibe.
Which is kinda like Kamen Rider Kuuga, now that I think about it.
Though is it just me, or do the aliens in Leo not have particularly complex plans XD ?
