He's my father's age. They're releasing a special mini-episode of Ultraseven in the fall. It's 7 minutes long but it may be better that it's short. There's less chance it'll be overplayed! I think they've used that Deep Fake tech and the actors for both Dan Moroboshi and Anne Yuri are coming back for at least one last time. The concept and what they've shown on the mini-episode looks neat.

@2:30 -- You know, there's something the Japanese do BETTER than we do. They've generally treated their heroes better or at least bastardized less than we have in the West. The danger of letting IP's run for too long without a break (for at least a few years until someone comes up with a decent idea for a TV series or movie) or definite end to the storylines is that you exhaust them. You either tell EVERY story you can and start repeating yourself, or those characters get assigned to IDIOTS who damage the IP's with bad writing. The worst thing that could happen has happened to American superheroes and that's why they're on the decline -- they're being managed by people who don't understand their cultural value and frankly see their work as "another job" and NOT stewardship of legends. The current caretakers of these American icons don't respect them. A few years back, I saw Mazinger Z: Infinity and felt I saw the rebirth of a legend. I hadn't really seen the original Mazinger Z at the time but I was vaguely familiar with the robot and had seen the Mazinkaiser OVAs and the horrendous Tranzor Z dub. When I saw Mazinger Z relaunch again after 10 years in storage (in the movie; it had been about 10 years since the last Mazinger Z anime in real life), I felt the same way I did when I saw Superman The Movie a long time ago. "That is a hero! He came back when he was needed!" I felt the same way seeing the rise of Ultraseven in the Ultraman Orb movie.... I saw the American dub of Ultraman first but after seeing a little bit of Ultraseven with subtitles I kind of understand why he's the most iconic ultra character of the Showa era. He has a charisma that stands out.
Those new gen ultras with their disco rays and hip armor aint got nothing on the dude who used to decapitate his foes with nothing but his own psychic-contolled detachable horn.
