I love that Dyan explains why she does what she does. It helps to know the reasons behind the techniques. When you understand them, the skies the limits!
Thank you, Dyan! You have certainly showed me more ways to use the brayer & gel plates. As you have demonstrated, I think I will practice using 3 colors in the same color-way. So many gel print images I’ve seen are muddy & dark, because they had contrasting colors. I think your way of adding color by printing directly onto the paper will be easier for me to control the process. I’m going to give it a try, anyway! I wish I could give you 10 stars for this video, it is a VERY HELPFUL video!
I never would have thought to do this. I made my own big gel plate and sometimes would think there’s got be something else I can do with it. Well now after watching this and seeing how fast the pages come to life I am going to make some small ones and definitely a round one! I can’t wait! Love watching Diane!
Dyan thank you so very much for your informative videos re the Gel Plates...now I know what to do! I will be watching and catching up on all I have missed!
I love watching your videos! I’m still learning how to use the gel plate. I love the uniqueness of the effects. It’s exciting to see what will show up! Thank you for sharing!
Iv got several books on the go and gave just stalled for a year or 2 but this has given me inspiration, I dont have any gel plates as yet but I do have a couple of brayers and some of your paint and stencils so I’m going to have a go! Thanks for the kick in the pants 👍🏽🙋🏽♀️
I can’t get enough Dyan Reavelev vids! Love watching you work...it relaxes me and inspires me. You surprise me with the ways you work because there’s always something different. Thanks for all your great products and inspiration!!💗💗💗
I found this very helpful. My brayer always slides on my gel plate…too much paint after watching you. I love the layered look of these prints. Thank you for the tips!
This really looks like fun. I have not seen this before. I am new to scrapbooking and I am not an artist so I just love things that have color and lets you just be you. I will be getting some supplies to try it. Thank you!
I love making Gel Press prints for card backgrounds. Your techniques are great and I know I will be incorporating them in to what I do. Thank you so much!
I love using them both ways. With lighter pastels and with more multiple bold color patches and sometimes even adding tissue paper on top and crinkling it and letting it dry then going back over the whole piece with pastels. That is the whole fun thing about it all...we get to play :)
I really love watching you! You have definitely inspired me to get into this gel printing! I love the journal pages that you have created!!! Thank you!!!
I love playing on my DIY gelli plate! It's just so fun and relaxing! My only problem is I never know when to stop! I make so many pages!! Lol! I love watching you work! I love listening to you! You just sooth me cause your voice is so relaxing!
Thanks Dyan! I don’t use my plates enough... they are a little intimidating. You’ve given me the confidence and knowledge to bust out 3 colours and my smallest plates and have a play! Thank you!
Thank you as didn’t realise you had you’re own range to fit your journals and I’ve not seen the jump journal so will get that now and won’t be afraid of the blank page as it’s scary at times.
You are amazing! You make me feel like I can do this! Thank you. I never thought of doing multiple pages like that! I will get my gel plate out. And I love the December book!
July 2020, great video, I like your way of designing with the gel plates, I used too much paint..I made such a mess cause I put the stencil right on the gel plate & then I had to scrub the paint off my stencils....thank you soo much..
Thanks for showing us how u use the gel plates. I have many other shapes. I may bring them to your class with me. You don’t mention using the gel plates in the dyalog class but I do hope you will. I wanted the journal class as well but it’s full so I’m on the wait list. I want to decorate the tin. Am planning on using alcohol inks. I hope u continue to make more videos because I enjoy them so much!! 😘
Love this :) I do scrap-booking, make cards and do Zentangle/Tangles. I am going to use this in my Zentangle/Tangle Journal. LOVE this to make my pages pop. Thank you.
Art is so amazing... I learn about different styles and techniques of creations every day !! Thank you.. I enjoyed discovering gel plates. Great :) !!!!
WOW very informative and so so easy. Always found the Gel Plate technique undoable for me, too much work and so kinda messy, and a lot of waste. BUT, you have made me rethink the Gel Plates as I now see where the texture can be easy and simply so effective! Thank you so much for an awesome tutorial, the best one I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of them. Have a great day. : )
Great video! I do recognize some of the pages in the Dyalogue books. Today is a holiday and looking forward to pulling out my paints and Gelli plates. Oh, also my cover still needs to be finished ;)
I enjoyed watching, but it just leads to more questions. I want to get into Art Journaling, but have no clue (no matter how many videos I watch) how to get a nice looking page with stenciling and doodling and embellishing. I would love to see you do a page from start to finish, so I'm going too check out your other videos to see if you have anything. This was a bit helpful, but I've seen people make their own DP using gel plates also. Thanks for this as a beginning.
You can make your own Gel Plates. Just use Clear Knox Gelatin. I know how the real ones are made. Many of us can't afford them. The other thing you can do with the plate is put that embossing sheet right onto the gel plate and then roll the color on. This way you can load the gel plate with several colors at one time and still get the same effect as you did
Dear Carol Frazer, could you explain how you make gel plates from gelatin? Because you're absolutely right about the price of them. I saw them here in Melbourne, Australia, at an art supply store, called Eckersley's, and I winced at the cost!
Thank you for this lesson. I was a lot intimidated by the gel press....really want to try but at the same time not to try. You made me much more comfortable in just using one color at a time. Take it slowly. I'm gonna start with a small plate and a small traveler's notebook. Thanks again 👏😃
I love that Dyan explains why she does what she does. It helps to know the reasons behind the techniques. When you understand them, the skies the limits!
💚
I really enjoy watching Dyan work in her journals. She's so creative and fun!
💘💘
I love that you don't like to "waste" paints!! Wonderful tute. Thank you so much. Prayerful hugs, Germaine
Such an amazing tutorial, Dyan, and I have to add that your talent is just 'crazy'! Thank you so much for sharing...gentle hugs from Canada
I like the way you do your prints right into the journal. Seems like much less mess and you are using it right away,
I love all the journals that Dyan has created. She's an amazing mixed media artist!!

Great presentation. Thank you for being direct & efficient.
Loads of fun watching this, I love how relaxing it was to watch Dyan play with all the pretty colors of paint! Thanks so much Dyan!!! Blessings!!!
I love how you showed me a different way when I make my own Gel plate. I think I'll make several small ones like yours. Thanks for sharing. 👍🙋🏻♀️

I never would have thought to do this. I made my own big gel plate and sometimes would think there’s got be something else I can do with it. Thank you for this very informative video. I have to admit I hadn't thought of using the gel plate like this, it's a great idea.
So helpful. Thanks. Can you store them in the clam shell without the Mylar sheets ? 😊
I love your kitty tattoo!

Her tattoos are wonderful
I have a gel plate and never use it. I really didn’t know what to do with it; now I do. Thanks.
Thank you sweetie. I really must invest in this, LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!!!
