    Iv got several books on the go and gave just stalled for a year or 2 but this has given me inspiration, I dont have any gel plates as yet but I do have a couple of brayers and some of your paint and stencils so I’m going to have a go! Thanks for the kick in the pants 👍🏽🙋🏽‍♀️

    Thank you, Dyan! You have certainly showed me more ways to use the brayer & gel plates. As you have demonstrated, I think I will practice using 3 colors in the same color-way. So many gel print images I’ve seen are muddy & dark, because they had contrasting colors. I think your way of adding color by printing directly onto the paper will be easier for me to control the process. I’m going to give it a try, anyway! I wish I could give you 10 stars for this video, it is a VERY HELPFUL video!

    I never would have thought to do this. I made my own big gel plate and sometimes would think there’s got be something else I can do with it. Well now after watching this and seeing how fast the pages come to life I am going to make some small ones and definitely a round one! I can’t wait! Love watching Diane!

    I love playing on my DIY gelli plate! It's just so fun and relaxing! My only problem is I never know when to stop! I make so many pages!! Lol! I love watching you work! I love listening to you! You just sooth me cause your voice is so relaxing!

    I love these tips for using my gel press plates. So fun and a great way to get some craft time in without needing to create a finished project.

    You can make your own Gel Plates. Just use Clear Knox Gelatin. I know how the real ones are made. Many of us can't afford them. The other thing you can do with the plate is put that embossing sheet right onto the gel plate and then roll the color on. This way you can load the gel plate with several colors at one time and still get the same effect as you did

      Dear Carol Frazer, could you explain how you make gel plates from gelatin? Because you're absolutely right about the price of them. I saw them here in Melbourne, Australia, at an art supply store, called Eckersley's, and I winced at the cost!

    I love using them both ways. With lighter pastels and with more multiple bold color patches and sometimes even adding tissue paper on top and crinkling it and letting it dry then going back over the whole piece with pastels. That is the whole fun thing about it all...we get to play :)

    Thanks for showing us how u use the gel plates. I have many other shapes. I may bring them to your class with me. You don’t mention using the gel plates in the dyalog class but I do hope you will. I wanted the journal class as well but it’s full so I’m on the wait list. I want to decorate the tin. Am planning on using alcohol inks. I hope u continue to make more videos because I enjoy them so much!! 😘

    July 2020, great video, I like your way of designing with the gel plates, I used too much paint..I made such a mess cause I put the stencil right on the gel plate & then I had to scrub the paint off my stencils....thank you soo much..

      Try spraying in a bit of water after every use. Try storing in a zoo lock or airtight container.

    WOW very informative and so so easy. Always found the Gel Plate technique undoable for me, too much work and so kinda messy, and a lot of waste. BUT, you have made me rethink the Gel Plates as I now see where the texture can be easy and simply so effective! Thank you so much for an awesome tutorial, the best one I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of them. Have a great day. : )
