Mario (aka The Mexican PA) and Boris (Boris the PA) are new grad physician assistants (PAs) who collaborated to discuss why they chose the PA profession, PA vs MD or DO, and how to get into PA school particularly with a low GPA!
Mario just graduated this year and has started a job in primary care and a mobile health clinic taking care of an underserved population to fulfill his obligation for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholarship! Boris is a physician assistant who has been practicing for two years, and has worked in primary care, weight loss medicine, and is currently working in urgent care medicine.
We think that anyone considering a career in medicine, particularly if they are considering becoming a physician assistant, physician, nurse practitioner, or any medical provider, will get tremendous value out of this video! We also speak in detail about why we chose the PA profession, how to get into PA school, and advice for low-GPA applicants to PA school. Enjoy!

Wow can’t thank you guys enough for this video. Ive been trying to decide between MD/DO and PA for quite some time and your guys’ insights and advice helped a ton!
You’re very welcome! So what have you decided???
@@BorisThePA I think PA is the better option for me. I really like the lateral mobility and better hours/lifestyle. I’m excited!
This is amazing! My wife and I are both UCLA alumni and we got a good laugh when Mario mentioned one of his first chemistry professors and their traditional “Only 1/3 of you in here will get into medicine” speech
We, as clear as day, remember who that professor was…wish he could see us now 😂 great video! Need more content with you and Mario out there!
Toxic weed-out culture smh
I have followed Mario for a while and I recently found your channel Boris! I am graduating from undergrad this year and I have been back and forth between PA and MD/DO for a long time. I look forward to watching part two but videos and resources like these help a lot of people including myself. Awesome video
So glad you found it helpful! PA versus MD is such an important topic that is not talked about enough. I think I’m going to make a whole series about it, the interview I have with a girl, named Grace coming out in a couple of days discussed. This topic at length as well. Stay tuned!
This was an awesome episode! I’m grappling up a B.S. Degree and have been looking to apply to PA Program and this offered tremendous insight and clarity 👌🏽
So glad you found our interview useful!
