That was my high school marching band drumline!! I absolutely love the fair. Glad you were able to go and see what the Delaware State Fair has to offer
Oh the goldfish game... Same, Jacob. Landed a ping pong ball in the itty bitty bowl and won that same goldfish at some church function. It was so inhumane. But I was three so what did I know? My father was horrified and spent the entire night keeping that goldfish alive. No winning a tank in those days. But that meant a fun trip to the local pet shop (what PetSmart? what PetCo?) and buying a tricked out tank, plants, and some cool places for the goldfish to hide. That goldfish lived seven years. I don't know if it lived any longer because it became the tank bully and we had to transfer it to a goldfish pond owned by a family friend. When your itty bitty sickly goldfish from the church bazaar grows up to be the villain, you did something right yet something very wrong. The pond is still there so for all I know, "Goldie" is still a dinosaur and terrorizing that pond. It's unlikely... I'm approaching middle age. But you never know. Maybe it's a fish Highlander. Maybe that's why Goldie kept trying to eliminate the tank's other occupants.
goldfish are relatives of koi and can live nearly as long, and koi can be up to 100 years old. So it's not entirely impossible that Goldie might still be alive
Jacob, in September/october the Big E is in Springfield Mass. This is the state fair for all the New England states. We all share this fair since the states are so small. Then you can knock 5 states off your list for one visit.
I saw someone else mention the Minnesota State Fair as a recommendation and I'm seconding it! Also - amazing carnival footage. You really know how to capture an atmosphere, Jacob! 🎡
Definitely recommend checking out the Big E in Springfield, MA- it’s the 5th largest fair in the USA and represents all the states in New England. It’s from Sept. 16- Oct 2 this year- lots of fun!
Check out the Michigan State Fair in Novi Mi. I think it's the first week of Sept. Wife also suggested The Big E in New England which I guess is like a multi state mega fair.
Come to The Big E in West Springfield Mass.! It's a HUUUUGE multi state fair for all of New England. Sept. 16th through Oct. 2nd. I'll be there on the 16th to see the Dropkick Murphys! You might need more than one day to see and do it all!
Very cool fair and rides 💖 Also the sky in the background was very eerie and foreboding but cool with the rainbow piercing through 🌈 the bacon treat looked delicious 😍 thanks Jacob and best wishes ☀️
Thank you for showing us these great fairs! Consider checking out the Bloomsburg Fair, Bloomsburg, PA, end of September. You may also enjoy the Pennsylvania Farm show in Harrisburg, PA each January. Keep up the great content.
I knew you were close by but I didn’t think you’d make it to the fair. Welcome and I hope Delaware treated you well. Would’ve loved to meet you, maybe next time
I highly recommend the New York State Fair at the end of August, it’s the biggest state fair after the Texas State Fair. There is so much to see and do, live music from National recording artists, lots of food, a lot of animals, and it’s a lot of fun! They usually have at least one traveling dark ride too, and they have a butter sculpture and a sand sculpture.
I think that you would enjoy the Minnesota state fair. (The last bit of August through Labor Day) They have butter sculptures that are busts carved out of giant blocks of butter. Also a haunted house and a bunch more great things.
It was cool to see you visit my state. You missed the animal barns, the handmade goods winning ribbons, the concerts, the derby etc. but glad you saw the pig races😁
You really need to check out the Minnesota State Fair. As far as land size, it is actually larger than the TX state fair. Comparing attendance, it is almost equivalent to Texas State Fair which runs twice as long as Minnesota's fair. The Great MN Get together Thursday 8/25 - Monday 9/5
That scary blue doll with long arms and legs is a video game called Poppy PlayTime. The green pickle doll reminds me of a doll from the 80's Super Pickle. I think that thick piece of bacon is called Fatback. I use to eat that as a kid over at my grandmothers house in the 70s and 80s. I don't see it at the regular supermarkets anymore.
I remember riding the zipper years ago ...YEARS AGO that thing left bruises across the tops of my legs..omg the pain..never again. Maybe its gotten better over the years
So cool: In the Netherlands, we have a children's song for practicing memory about someone going to the butter market (ruclips.net/video/tfHcjFJ3bAk/видео.html). Most people my age know that song but have never actually seen a butter market with people sculpting things out of butter. And now you show us that from the Delaware state fare! Those tractors servicing the parade are really old, but maintained and shiny as if brand new! Nothing more exciting than a professional hog race. These state fairs are often full of very nice little surprises from history. "Finally there is a skeleton somewhere in the darkness. And it is gonna stay there! "Fun! Thank you Carpetbagger!
If you have a chance to go to state fair in September, go to the Minnesota State Fair. They have the BEST cookies that you can get a bucket full of them at Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar. Have fun Jake!
The good thing about your fair journeys is that you still have a lot of good State Fairs to go to. I need to get to the Florida state fair and the Delaware state fair you have a particular advantage over me
You should to the York, PA Fair which is billed as " The Oldest Continually Operating Fair in the United States". It used to held in Sept , but the last two years has been moved to the end of July so you will have to go to it next year. It is quite the fair with lots of Mennonite food stand under the grandstand. Great ham and cheese sandwiches and ice cream waffles for desert.
Cool tour of the state Fair. Spaghetti Eddies I think is a franchise, that used to have a $5 deal for Spaghetti and sauce, garlic bread and a salad bowl. The guy on the Ostrich could be from the video game Joust.
When you were feeding the animals, and saw the larger llamas I was thinking "remember the camel". Llamas do spit thought. That a sweet that girl who wanted say hello to your vlog. Thank you for sharing the state fairs. They are always so unique. Bacon wrapped bacon sounded interesting. Did they have bacon ice cream or bacon shake? Even many of the county fairs are cool as well. But if you can visit to most of the state fairs will be an achievement and I look forward to the visual experience. Thank you again for sharing. Look forward to the next one. Keep safe!
Hey Carpetbagger great video I live in Kansas and the Kansas State Fair is September 9 thru 18 I hope you can catch it and can see you there, stay safe my friend 👍😁
I know you were just in Oregon, but from August 19-28 in Boise, ID as our Western Idaho Fair. Complete with concerts that are free with admission; (this year we have Pat Benatar, Chris Jansen, Billy Currington, Stone Temple Pilots, & Ja Rule & Ashanti), magic shows, hypnotists, and lots of other exciting events. $5-$8 admission. Really worth checking out. And yes carnival included!
OMG It's Real! I had no idea that was a real competition. 4:06 Butter is one of my favorite movies, and I cannot believe it's happening at the DE State fair. 😂 Fantastic! Thanks for sharing, Carpetbagger!
I have to try the corn dog wrapped in bacon 🥓 😋. That sounds good. You and Jen should go to the NYS Fair at the end of August outside of Syracuse. I don't know if you can get a hotel 🤔 though.
Indiana State Fair is coming up. It’s always in August. I don’t know if ours is as much of a carnival style. It’s 4-H so it’s more about the projects and a lot of livestock. We also have marching bands that compete.
This was so wonderful to see this fair. My homestate is Iowa and the Iowa State Fair will start next week with a big kick off parade in downtown Des Moines Iowa on 8/9 and the fair will start the next day. They have the butter cow and other butter sculptures. Huge fairgoers with turn of the century exposition style buildings. Has it's own campground as well. The fair haa been featured in motion pictures from many years ago. Big display buildings and big name entertainment with fireworks afterwards. An Ye Olde Mill ride that you might like. One of only a couple left in the US. Plenty of fair food. Some permanent restaurant buildings as well. So much to do and see at the Iowa State Fair. While there you might want to visit the big theme park-Adventureland in Altoona Iowa about half hour or so from the state fairgrounds. It would be worth your while to look into this. I don't think that you will be the least disappointed.
27:07 The hydro shock, there are people and RUclips vloggers that go on them and film ride on POV on them, so if you always want to know what one is like riding one, you can always pull one up on RUclips.
Just so you don't get confused, Pennsylvania's state fair is actually in January and called the Pennsylvania Farm Show. It is an indoor event with no rides. The biggest summer fairs that you think of rides are York, Allentown, and Bloomsburg. York calls themselves a "State Fair", but us is not. Bloomsburg, while it does not typically get the attendance as the other two, is the largest fair in PA by area. That is the one you should come to.
Not sure how far ahead you plan your trips but you should come to Spartanburg for Spring Fling next year., or maybe showcase Folkmoot in your hometown.
Llamas are very curious. Farmers in Indiana sometimes put one in with sheep. If a stray animal comes up, they tall llamas run to see what is happening and it scares the stranger away.
Hi there, new to the channel! My husband and I watch your channel. You should go to the NY state fair. It’s by Syracuse and the end of august. It’s a huge fair. Also the Marshfield fair in Massachusetts too!
I happen to live in an area in pa where you get the Lancaster and Harrisburg radio stations and the Philadelphia and Wilmington de radio stations so you get to here the ads for both the fairs
Jacob u missed the jersey stare fair this month, one question will u be going to horror con Sept 16th to the 18th in Atlantic city?keep the videos coming take care
Was at the Ohio state fair yesterday passing out free narcan. Waaaaaay too many people. It was absolutely insane. Didn’t even get to see the butter cow. I got stepped on, elbowed, shoved, etc. never seen the fair so busy. I tried to watch the pig racing but there were literally probably 1000 people gathered around and I couldn’t see anything whatsoever
Yoooo! You were in my neck of the woods? Well damn. I also missed the fair this year. Hoping to go Bck next year. The DSF isn't as good as it used to be. It's still fun at times but as someone who's been going since the 90s, it's just not the same. Especially the way the rides are run.
NY has fairs in the next month august - sept. Ulster county fair new parts NY Aug 2-7, dutchess county fair Rhinebeck NY aug-23-28, and NY state fair Syracuse NY Aug 24-sept 5.
Must eat at the diary barn when you go to the Indiana state fair it has the best grilled cheese sandwich and frozen shakes . I definitely recommend you try the new One this year wich is a chocolate frozen yogurt shake topped with girl scout thin mint cookie crumbs ( similar constancy to a Wendy’s frosty but better)
I was saying to myself earlier that I wanted to go to the state fair. Thanks for bringing me along!!
That was my high school marching band drumline!! I absolutely love the fair. Glad you were able to go and see what the Delaware State Fair has to offer
That's really cool.
My hubby and I never miss watching you!! We sure enjoy your adventures!! Stay safe!!

“Good to see the gospel of Cheerwine being spread.” And all of the North Carolinians said, “Amen.” 😂
I had Cheerwine Before it’s actually pretty good.
The Minnesota State Fair is one of the best! Good reporting.
The best youtuber out there
Thank you going to the Delaware State Fair!! I moved away from Delaware a few years back and haven't been able to make it to the fair!!!
Jacob, in September/october the Big E is in Springfield Mass. This is the state fair for all the New England states. We all share this fair since the states are so small. Then you can knock 5 states off your list for one visit.

This was a great video I enjoyed it very much, thank you. I agree that the sky was very scary!
You were literally two blocks from my house. I usually watch the fireworks from my front yard. 👍🏻
I highly recommend the New York State Fair at the end of August, it’s the biggest state fair after the Texas State Fair. There is so much to see and do, live music from National recording artists, lots of food, a lot of animals, and it’s a lot of fun! Bacon wrapped bacon! My cardiologist is on speed dial buddy, now give me one. 🤣

Missouri State Fair has always been lit; you should come visit us in Sedelia, MO!

The Zipper!!! Our county fair had it every year. As kids, we would dare each other to ride it. It looks as chaotic as I remember!😝
The New Jersey State Fair/ Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, is next week, in Sussex County, New Jersey, August 5-13. (Augusta, NJ)
Indiana State Fair is ongoing! Check out Fairmount, IN for James Dean Gallery & Museum 🙌🏻💕
