You know Big Tex was originally a big Santa 🎅 built by the Ag class of Kerens, Tx...east of Corsicana...he became hard to maintain so they sold Santa to the State Fair people...and he became Big Tex
MN has the 2nd largest state fair, Nation of Texas is 1st. This is a point of contention for some here in Minnesota and as a Texan currently living here, that makes me happy 😁
I have to walk through and look at all the crafts in the Creative Arts building. I had something on display a few years ago. It was a Six Flags Over Texas oil derrick made out of food skewers.
4 years eating clean whole foods, that Corny Dog at the beginning put me into a trance😵💫 Very good Video Thanx. I'm so into nutrition that fried butter freaked me out😮 Stay healthy America.😵💫 I only weigh 99 pounds if I go off the deep end 1 deep fried corny dog will be the end🤤 I'm getting dizzy I can almost smell all that dopamine in the air of the fair 😃I fried my brain on cannabis not junk food so I know addiction and the rush you get. Stay healthy folks
I'm right there at 3:25! I remember my kid taking our picture but have never seen this decade-old footage before! We're heading to the fair tomorrow! Can't wait!
Hey Chet! I can't find a video of you and your group visiting Weatherford! You've been all around us but seem to have missed us! Please consider coming to our great town. Don't miss our First Monday Flea market. Love the show and your funny Troup.
This was almost a decade ago, judging by when the Big Tex museum was in the Hall Of State building. Great coverage though. I have a 360 video walkthrough of the Fair from a year or two ago on my channel. It's pretty cool because you can move the view around and look in whichever direction you want as it plays.
@@princenissa9707 sorry I'm a year late lol, but in the description it says this "THROWBACK EPISODE - This episode originally aired on PBS on September 29, 2014"
Have you been to Blue Bell Factory? In Brenham? It’s also near Newman’s castle I also recommend Tobasco island in Louisiana and the Angola prison rodeo
8 museums? When I went to the Texas State Fair, 3 of them were closed because of the fair. I also find it funny that the "Hall of varied industries" only has 1 industry, cars. I recommend you try the Minnesota State Fair. It's 322 acres and doesn't include large amounts of unused land. More agriculture, more industry, more entertainment, more food. The only thing it has less of is days it's open. I will concede that Fletcher's corn dogs are better than any I can get at the Minnesota State Fair.

After he was sold to the Fair, Jack Bridges, a local Dallas artist, reimagined him into a big cowboy to welcome all visitors to the fair.
Interesting

And the movie State Fair, the 1962 version that is, was filmed during the 1961 State Fair Of Texas.

The Life and times of Big Texas exhibit was one of the best ever. I wish it was a mainstay.

Can't wait it every day. But it's so good when you can.

I’m ready!!! State Fair of Texas 2023!!!!!!!!!!

I have eaten the Fried Thanksgiving Dinner every single year since they debuted it. 😍
Love the Fair , couldnt go this year , thanks for the video !!!!
Houston Live Stock Show And Rodeo … the best 🤟🏽
Angola Prison rodeo is 5x better

Loved the video watching from Oak Cliff, TX ❤
I've never been, but yesterday I really wanted to go and check it out.
Fun review. Your production quality is awesome.
Aw, great job guys! Best Fair ever!!! Did you try the fried pumpkin pie??? Oh, so good!!!
I'm from Colorado and we have the Stock Show every year🤠 2024 I have 8 shows under my belt partner
YEE HAW GOAT ROPER 😅
All the big texs look scary--like earnest tubb😅
Funny Bix Tex. I didn't know he fried. Fried Thanksgiving dinner sounds tasty.

10:36 $10 for a energy drink 😂
Thank You!
Can't go this year ..thanks .I enjoyed it. And..the Rio bit still killing it!!
When I go to our county fair I visit the grilled food booth since I'm not a fried food fan
Love big Tex😊
love this
I have loathed corny dogs since I was a child (first visit to the State Fair in the mid '50s).
So the ticket price is only for admission? Is there a wristband that allows you to ride all the rides or do you pay individually?
Did u intentionally record this last year and put it in the volt for an entire year to release it right before the fair opens? If so you are a genius.
I'm confused...Big Tex is wearing different boots this year than whats in your video...
You need your own tv show
great video.
Did Fletcher call you Chuck?
Howdy amigas? Huh?
Whats the difference between the corn dog and a corny dog? Bexause oregon says they are the inventers of the corn dog

It cost $250 per person just to have fun there
So, my cousin’s husband created the original Big Tex! Jack Bridges is the creator of the original. He is my relative by marriage!
You forgot the car show.
Nolan Ryan loveable and Huge Like Big Tex. 😂
The fair is in Georgetown?
No, Dallas. Near downtown. ..but try not to go anywhere outside the perimeter! !
I had a corny dog last year and it wasn't all that good. There one I had seem like they used old oil.
chet is the best!
Lol. There's nothing he's gorging on that I can eat anymore. It really stinks getting old!
Let's face it, Tech is horrible on the road. I don't see them beating Baylor.
Hope the State Fair moves to Fort Worth instead of Dallas where things.are petty, political, woke and dangerous now to go to
I am the person that hates corn dogs, the taste makes me gag
Luv corn dogs..
Valla con dios …
first!
