Thank you for all the information on the Pennsylvania and York state fairs. This one, being the oldest in America, is still great. Showing a lot of local produce and cattle, nice attractions for kids of all ages, and still holding with modern day amusement. Very special!
I went from going to the State Fair in York, to living in walking distance to the largest street fair in PA. I love both of them. I just wish they hadn't moved the fair to the hottest part of the year.
Yeah..fair’s in Pa are best in the autumn and spring! Summer fair’s are hot..at that point you might as well be at the boardwalk! I suppose they are fine at night, but when I think of fair’s, I want to start during the day and go into the night.
Hi carpetbagger I wish I could of seen you at our state fair I live in york pa and I want to thank you for the compliments on my video game table and yes the one game you used a vhs tape the games were on the tapes 😊
I used to go to this fair every year about 16 yrs ago before I moved. Was always at the end of September when it was much cooler. Was a better experience not dealing with the heat!
Thanks for introducing the Steinmetz Family Farms channel. Never thought watching baby goats popping out of their amniotic sacks would be interesting, but it was because life is interesting!
Adapting the lyric from the show "STATE FAIR", "The York State Fair is a great State Fair, don't miss it, don't even be late!" That was a GREAT fair, Jacob! Wow, I wish I was closer than 3.5 hours from it or I'd take off right now! Thanks for ALL of these videos every day. They mean more to some of us than you can ever imagine.
York is a beautiful place and a great location to stay when visiting Hershey Park and Gettysburg. My mom is from Pa and she had me making homemade whoopie pies. Each one is wrapped individuallly and made with as much or little of the frosting as you care to make.
Welcome back to Pennsylvania. One reason the York fair was called an interstate fair is because York is close to Maryland so many people from northern Maryland come to the York Fair. Latter in early fall we also have another major fair in Bloomsburg,Pa that is also a large fair. I have been to our official state fair that you mentioned held in Harrisburg in January. As mentioned it is all indoor but still has many of the attractions you would see at other fairs. It does feature a large hall with all the usual fair food options as well as many foods from local Pennsylvania farms. About the only thing missing is a large amusement ride midway. Since you like butter sculpture you can’t miss the really large butter sculpture that is one of the main attractions of the show. Keep having fun and taking us along for ride.
It's been so hot in Paso Robles that the Mid State Fair this year hasn't been opening until 4:00 p.m. One thing about the State Fairs is that they are in the summer!! Thanks for the video. Lots of fun!
That was a wonderful State Fair .The butter sculptures were amazing. The races were fun as were the goats . The Dark ride wasn't what I expected . Hope you feel better soon . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I am from York and I lived 2 blocks from the fair. It’s relatively new to being in July, used to be in September. Unfortunately, I currently live in New Jersey and can’t make it anymore. They have some fantastic concerts too. Great fun!
im british and i find these state fairs absolutely fascinating! totally different to our fairs! thanks for visiting these awesome places and showing us!
They’ve had those handwriting analysis machines at the iowa state fair as long as I can remember (I was born in 1977). I remember as a little kid thinking they looked so futuristic. It’s funny how retro they are now. I’m surprised they can even get ink and paper for that old type of dot matrix printer anymore!! (Or that they haven’t replaced the printer with a newer type) Ha!!
Love the channel. I'm from Pennsylvania and love to see your take on places I've been and ideas for places to go. After seeing your video I attended the 24 York Fair. I was very disappointed. If you want to attended a Fair in Pennsylvania you should check out the Bloomsburg Fair. It is reasonably close to another Pennsylvania attraction you have been to, Knoebles. The Bloomsburg Fair is much larger and is not in the Blazing heat of summer. Safe travels!!
You can buy that York Fair Bottled Water all year around at the Rutters convince stores. It's just relabeled Rutters water. Since Rutters is part of the York Fair.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show in January is just like a Faire in summer but, it’s all inside. They have rodeos, food, goat snuggling, farm animals, did I mention food!
Wonderful video, Jacob, with all the animals n cute goats n cows n rabbits n horses n chickens in absentia due to the bird flu factor!!! Love 💖 your State Fair Quest!!!! You are sooo creative n interesting n spontaneous n such a great narrator it is a pleasure to watch your videos!;; Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!! Hey to Jen as well!!!
The Pennsylvania Farm Show has an entire food court. People go just for the food. The Pa Dairymens Assoc. has milkshakes, white milk/chocolate milk, ice cream sundaes, deep fried mozzarella cubes with marinara sauce, toasted cheese sandwich and ice cream cones. The PA coop potato growers offer fresh cut French fries, potato donuts, baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes and pierogis. Bee keepers Assoc. offers honey ice cream, honey waffles, bottles of honey. The livestock Assoc. offers pork barbeque sandwiches, roast beef sandwiches, lamb stew, Sausage of the Day (hot Italian, sweet Italian, cheese steak, tomato basil), gluten free beef meatball sandwiches, jumbo beef/pork hot dogs, Philly style steak, pork ribs, Texas rib, steak salad, goat sloppy joe, lolly porkchop, Flying Porker, beef brisket. Then there are 6 other associations all with their own offerings too numerous to list. Basically all the county fairs have competitions for cakes, pies, you name it and the winners then get to compete in the farm show for top prize in their category. You need to come visit it!
Ha ha the baby goats fighting was hilarious !!! Reminds me of my 2 year old TWIN GRANDDAUGHTERS who sometimes wear pink or purple so people can tell the difference...not me I know which is which since their birth..Sophia wears purple and Savannah wears pink and they stay w me 3 days a week for 8-9 hours so parents can work ..what a beautiful nightmare they give this Nana ..I have 7 grands including them and they wear me out good ❤
Thanks so much for this one, my girlfriend and I worked for Reithoffer amusements at the York fair in the early 2000s. It was fun to do and travel other spots down to Florida doing those. We did two seasons with them. Can't beat free travelling, paid cash, only thing is to this day I can not even think of eating cotton candy anymore, or funnel cakes or greasy fried foods 😂😆
I'm amazed you haven't visited The Big E (The Eastern States Exposition) in West Springfield MA. It represents all of New England. I've been attending since I was an infant in the late 60s, and it's been running for more than a 100 years. It had 1.6 million visitors last year. For that matter, New England seems to be a place you've rarely visited on your channel. There is a lot to see here. The Big E is the largest fair on the east coast, and the 5th largest in the USA. It features a decent size midway, circus, and many other attractions. While your in New England, you should visit Canobie Lake Park with a nice dark ride from the early 80s. Salem MA has a lot of haunts. The Funspot world's largest arcade with retro museum next to a beautiful lake & mountains. We also have Cape Cod, Boston, Newport, large casinos in CT with a lot to do & see, famous islands to visit like Martha's Vineyard, Waterfire in Providence, beautiful swimming beaches in RI, the harbors of ME and the mountains in NH & VT, and a few amusement parks like Six Flags New England, Old Orchard Beach with an awesome pier, Lake Compounce, Fun Town USA, and other attractions like Clark's Trading Post, etc. Unique foods like RI"s hot wieners (called Coney Island NY Systems from turn of the century marketing) and much more.
I love it when this guy goes to the state fairs in the summer, I hope to see him at the CNE this year! (wonder how many corn cobs you could butter out of that one butter cow?)
You honestly missed out on when the York Fair was actually good. It's supposed to be in the Fall. First Friday after Labor Day and run for 10 days. It's a shadow of itself now Carpetbagger. I went in 2021 and 2022. It didn't feel like the York Fair anymore. All the Fall displays of pumpkins and corn stalks are missing in the Horticulture Hall. Children aren't submitting art work for competition like they used too. Local Halloween attractions such as Kim's Krypt don't set up stands in July to promote the upcoming season. However if I knew you were going to be there. I would have definitely come out to say hi and finally meet you in person. You've got a great channel. Also Pennsylvania doesn't technically have a State Fair. However the York Fair was known as the York Interstate Fair. But nobody wanted to keep using the word Interstate all the time and simply called it the York Fair. Adding just the word state in the middle sounds weird to thousands of us loyal York Countians who want it moved back to September. Where it had been since the end of WW II.
I live right down the road from this. I haven’t been there since 2007. Looks like I’m not missing anything.
I’m not saying this for attention. Thank you for helping me get through the loss of my dog yesterday. I loved him very much
I am sorry for your loss. Good thing Jacob is here to help get us through times like that.
So sorry for your loss.
Thank you all so much
❤ Sorry for your Loss 🙏🥀
My dog is 16. He has seizures .
@@warmlantern0000 I’m so sorry to hear that
Your enthusiasm for the butter display is similar to a truck and tractor pull commercial. "Look at this BUTTER BUTTER BUTTER!"
It was so great meeting you!!!!

Alway’s a good day for a CarpetBagging!
I used to go to this fair every year about 16 yrs ago before I moved. Was always at the end of September when it was much cooler. Was a better experience not dealing with the heat!
Omg. I love this video. The goats, and all the animals!!! Great job , Jacob. Thank you so much for sharing all these awesome adventures!❤😊
Thanks for taking me along, great fun, I love a country fair.
Thank you Jacob checking state fairs and educating history of them. WOW!
Wow, I wish I was living in Pennsylvania would love that every year there’s a lot of excitement
I'm sorry about your dog. I've been there and it's devastating. These videos have helped me too on numerous occasions. Thanks Jacob! (I'm from PA)
Loved all of it! Goat Snuggling, pig and dog races, the Flying Wallendas! Mold Girl, butter and cheese sculptures, 2 story carousel, so much fun!
HOW NEAT! i appreciate what you do carpetbagger Jacob. i really enjoyed the York State Fair
I like that the cheese carver was giving out shavings from the sculpture. Now you can say you ate a piece of art.
Ever since last year, thanks to Good Day PA, my mom and I visit the York State Fair every year.
I'm very happy that the Carpet bagger exists! Such an original.
Wilson County fair in Tennessee is now the Tennessee State fair beginning on August 17 rather than September as it used to be.
The State fair here in Indianapolis, Indiana opened Friday, you may still have time to attend.
Cute little animals
Thanks for introducing the Steinmetz Family Farms channel. Never thought watching baby goats popping out of their amniotic sacks would be interesting, but it was because life is interesting!

Watching the latest state fair vlogs back to back. Busy the other day and nothing else to watch today, perfect
This was fun. I always like the butter sculptures. Have a great weekend, Jacob ❤️
This was a great vlog Jacob. Keep 'em coming.
This reminds me so much of my area fair -- The Topsfield Fair. You should come visit that fair too!

Good morning. Hope to find you doing well. Again Thank You for the lovely post card. It totally made my day. 😊
I saw those trained pigs, goats, and llama 6 years ago at my local circus. They also appeared on America's Got Talent back in 2020.
It's been so hot in Paso Robles that the Mid State Fair this year hasn't been opening until 4:00 p.m. One thing about the State Fairs is that they are in the summer!! Thanks for the video. Lots of fun!
Great video as always. And what you said is true. I used to live in Harrisburg. PA for a bit. and the Farm Show is crazy.
27:26 OH MY DISNEY!!!!! That is my favorite song from the musical Barnum.
Awww my hometown! Wish i knew you were gonna be around! Hope you enjoyed it!
I remember going to the youk fair when I was a kid.
That was a wonderful State Fair .The butter sculptures were amazing. The races were fun as were the goats . The Dark ride wasn't what I expected . Hope you feel better soon . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I was there on Thursday for the Turnpike Troubadours concert. I rode the Zipper and I’d agree that once is enough for that.
I am from York and I lived 2 blocks from the fair. It’s relatively new to being in July, used to be in September. Unfortunately, I currently live in New Jersey and can’t make it anymore. They have some fantastic concerts too. Great fun!
I had that Odessey gaming system as a kid, only I had the European version, Philips Videopac G7000. ❤
The goat fight had me rolling😂 then I remembered when the camel bit him and now I can't breathe
I'll put this cowboy's show second behind the strongman at the Texas State Fair. He was hilarious.
That horse act was wild. I loved the goats!
awww love the farm critters!
I watch your videos every day stay safe my friend keep up the good work.
West Virgina state fair begins August 10. Mothman will likely be featured.
Loving these State Fair tours. Thanks so much Jacob. ❤
You make everything look fun! Nice job filming this. Makes me want to go to York for the fun. Can;t wait for the next adventure.
Zipper is my FAV. ride....!!!
So much fun!

I’ve watched a lot of your videos through the years, but I do believe your State Fair videos are my favorite!
THIS is now my favorite Carpetbagger video. Piggies, Weinerdogs and goats. This one is going to be hard to beat. The only thing missing was Jen! ❤
As Jacob's vlogs get better n' better, so do a lot of the comments!
@@maryblaufuss7533 THAT is the TRUTH!!!
Oklahoma has a huge State Fair. When I live in Oklahoma City and went to the State Fair it took me 2 days to see everything.

I live in Butler Pennsylvania and we have the Big Butler Fair in July, then we have the Butler Farm Show in august and that has rides and food.
Ayyy, a local spot! Was wondering if you'd ever hit York.
No way! My hometown it definitely was a lot better in September I wish you could have went when it was at its prime!
The Pennsylvania Farm Show in January is just like a Faire in summer but, it’s all inside. They have rodeos, food, goat snuggling, farm animals, did I mention food!
Love state fairs
Fun slice of classic Americana!
That personality test printer is a Dinosaur!!! 😂

I don't know about you, Jacob, but personally when it comes to milking (8:20) I prefer pulling, not squeezing.
I hope you get to own your own dark ride someday Jacob. Just get it upgrades with extra compressed air
The wiener dogs racing cracked me up. 😂

There are a few town specific "state fairs" in Maine. I'm not sure what the official one is
I thought the title said Goat smuggling...lol was thinking what kind of dam fair is this
That's all I can see now 😂
Yea, snuggling is kinda weird too, never heard of it 😂
I thought that too. I was thinking why would it smuggle butter lol.
Mashup: goat sculpture. Butter snuggling.
I would have loved to be at the State Fair!
