My wife who passed in June 2022 loved Necco Wafers we always had to search for them as they are not readily available in many stores. Found them more so in Meijers stores.

Our State Fair is great. Go almost every year. The midway is phenomenal and the concerts are always solid. [Needs more Roller Coaster!]

Those racing pigs We're at my local carnival this year. I was one of the picked cheerleaders for the show & I was trying to record the part where Swifty was swimming on my phone and then he started doing his business before he jumped in the water then the announcer asked me why I was recording and I didn't answer. I didn't expect that pig to start doing his business in front of everyone.

The Horse in the Indiana farmers coliseum used to work a long time ago but unfortunately it doesn’t work anymore so they use decoration today since it is old and fragile.
I was born in Indiana as well, lived there 1966 to 1981. Then moved to Maine the summer of 1981. As well, always the county fair never the state. That's quit the achevement 5 stater fairs 5 days.....THANK YOU...!!!!

Jacob I'm so glad you made it to the ISF. The basket theme was this year's all over Fair Theme. The Indiana State fair has a theme each year. The drug store is open year round and is a key aspect of the fair. The chair lift is fairly new being added within the past 10 years I believe.

Hi Jacob ! Regarding Necco Wafers, I DO like them. I actually visited the RedHat Corp. Headquarters, which is in the old New England Confectionary (Necco) factory. They had LOTS of candy around including Candy Buttons, Conversation Hearts & of course Necco Wafers. YUM !

Necco Wafers are a nostalgic thing for me. My dad used to take me for walks to the center of our small town when I was young, and we'd always get a roll to share on the park benches. The chocolate ones have always been my favorite.

My grandfather was a coach for IU basketball but I really need to get him into the basketball hall of fame. With him at the helm IU won 7 Is on the Oaken Bucket. His portrait can be found at the IU Hall of Fame and thanks to him Bloomington has sidewalks and Cascades golf course 😂 His name was Arthur ‘Cotton’ BERNDT.
Indiana is my home state, and I love the fair there every year! Especially the food and the animals!

the Tennessee State fair goes on until Aug. 25 in Lebanon, Tennessee. And the Tennessee Valley fair starts sept. 8- 17 in knoxville, tn off of Magnolia Street

I hope WI is a fair of yours this year. Plus, you should go up to Bay Beach in GreenBay and ride the merry go round, roller coaster, etc. I wish you would show the poultry more at the fairs. I do enjoy seeing what there is to eat and when you ride rides.

Funny thing we are both doing a state fair road trip. I just went to the Ohio state fair Kentucky state fair and yes I’m working on editing the Indiana state fair right now. Also Pennsylvania doesn’t have a traditional state fair. Wish we had run into each other. Well I’ll probably be passing by you on my way to Chicago tomorrow so I’ll say hi from here my friend.
The fairs are always so much fun . It really shows their pride in basket ball just a bit. That was a different dark ride but I think I like the old fashioned ones better . I think that one had the most Carousels though. When you were going past the food areas I saw some amazing looking food combos. You took an interesting one to try . Those sculptures out of cans were marvelous. The imagination to do that Wow! Great video Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Love that you got to come to the Indiana State Fair! Next time you’ll have to check out more of Pioneer Village and go into the 4H buildings on the northwest side of the grounds.

I loved Necco wafers when I was a kid. Yes, they were a little chalky, but I thought they had a nice little zing to them, particularly the chocolate ones. Incidentally, you could use Necco wafers as a substitute for quarters in the toll baskets on the Illinois toll road. That was probably at least thirty years ago, so they've probably changed it, and it was illegal in any case. Also, if winners drink milk, then losers must surely drink water.
Oh, I figured losers drank spoiled milk. Lmao. Never tried a necco wafer in the toll box, though. As an Illinois resident, I've definitely had to pay online after I found I didn't have cash or change, although that would have been 15ish years ago.
So.. I want to address our “obsession” with basketball. Last year our obsession would have been automobiles. Every year our state fair has a theme. Almost everything revolves around said theme. That’s why you saw so many things related to basketball. A lot of the contests were best basketball themed…… insert item here.

OMG, I camped at the Oakland (Michigan) county fair and the racing pigs were there. I heard the music and color commentary every show every day. 😅😅
I am so glad I live in The Netherlands, the fairs here have way more interesting rides, more modern and crazy ones.

Hi again....just to add about The Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA......It runs from September 15th till October 1st.....Massachusetts doesn't have a specific "state" fair.....but the Big E, has every aspect of a State Fair, huge midway, agriculture buildings etc..and so much more!!!!!
Georgia National Fair in PERRY. Ga. It starts October 5.
