Hi, Jacob! I'm the tall bearded guy that recognized you in the ride midway area near Alien Abduction, and said hello... I was a little "star struck" in the moment, and at a loss for words, but it was really cool meeting you in person!!
That drummer is Neal Peart from Rush. One of the best drummers in history, he is definitely missed.

❤❤ Saw him many times. RUSH was incredible- 3 guys that sounded like 20 and very entertaining.
Plus he wrote most of their lyrics and mostly traveled to shows on his motorcycle, authoring books as well. Neil was an incredible talent on so many levels. Some of the most technically difficult drumming to learn.
Neil rules! Most talented drummer in history.
That first scare crow was not a scare-cat or scaredy-cat but "Ms. Wuf", the NC State University wolf mascot for their NCAA women's athletics division.
NC State University is down the road from the fair. Her dress has the NC State logo on the front. To be fair, her snout should be more wolf like.
It's kinda fascinating to see every state have their own statefair. I hope my country have the same thing 😢😂
What country are you from? In the USA not only do most states have state fairs but a lot of counties do also(smaller sections of a state)
Not going to lie, I found myself singing along with the vegetables. Made me feel like a kid again, if only for a moment. Only four more to go until you're half way there, although Alaska and Hawaii are going to be interesting get to.

I think this is my most favorite fair so far. So many well maintained rides. Cute things like dragon coaster and singing vegetables.

I get so sick just smelling the food and thinking of when I was a child and would throw up after rides. It looks fun but I just have those memories that ruin fairs for me. I am in NC and my daughter was there that day so I can’t help but watch closely and look for her, lmao. You are so fun Jacob. Thanks for the videos.
I really had a great time seeing everything there Saturday I was there helping my friends give out wrist bands we got there early before it opened up to public and the wrist band was the way to go. The arena was amazing too I walked around there and where the flowers were and scarecrows it was so amazing I enjoyed my funnel cake and Sausage dog unfortunately it rained whole day we was there I was soaked rides opened later that day though but I enjoyed it I'll definitely be back next year for the fair I enjoyed the crafts potteries food competitions agriculture barn the animals it was great I was kinda sad I didn't ride anything but I would have had got soaked even more though but well worth the trip to Raleigh. They had allot of construction going on though so hopefully all that will be done soon the roads were soggy and I'm glad they finally paved it there the last time I went it was just grass in some spots

Wouldn't it be cool if someone had a contest to come up ideas for fun houses and dark rides.
The fun houses seem to all have the same components to them. The only thing that is different is their freshly painted themed facades. I played on those almost 50 years ago.
The haunted dark ride could definitely use some re-imagining for sure.

I just came here from watching your "Pure Terror Scream Park" video. I have to say that the "The Haunted" ride from this one is a rather sleep-inducing experience in comparison.
I have lived here in the Carolina’s for over 20 years and never been to Raleigh. I so would love to go the NC fair. Looks like you picked a perfect day, I’ve always been told it’s so crowded.

The drummer you didn't know is the late Neil Peart who was in the band Rush.

The Louisiana State Fair starts October 26th, in Shreveport. Im aiming for opening day.
It was funny when Carpetbagger was filming the military robot equipt with a grabber, and it turned toward that child and the child became alarmed.

Jacob, Thank you for this tour of The N Carolina State Fair. I love fairs love watching the rides , exhibits and enjoy the food choices. I used to go to alot of different fairs up here in Michigan and some in Florida, Minnesota and one in Ohio. Use to take alot of pics and videos. The videos of yours helps me see alot of fairs I probably never get to in Person. Hope to see more and other places you go to. Later.
That downdraft reminds me of the swing around that kennywood used to have.
22:32 they often look like barns and are more common as a family ride at smaller parks in Europe

I’ve only seen half this video and I can tell you it’s 1000x better than the mobile dark rides that come to the south Florida fair. I just went on one yesterday and all except for one large static skeleton head was dark and empty.
I enjoyed the flowers, the contests and funhouse. Thanks for sharing.

Drummer is Neil Peart from Rush, then Angus Young Ac/Dc Alice Cooper.... That Diesel Punk funhouse reminds me of the one in Grease only it's painted differently. This Fair looked like tons of fun and the rides looked in nice condition too!

It`s "Only you can prevent FOREST fires"........classic.....I think "The Asylum" was scarier on the outside than the inside--lol...
The Downdraft ride looked fun to me but was traumatic to you. Love sky rides. The animatronic singing veggies show was great. In general, I wonder if dark rides are ever repaired once the scare objects quit working or they just keep running them as long as the cars still work? Same for the fun houses. Except for the artwork outside, they are the same inside.
6:14 that’s the “NEW” zipper, retro-fitted with over the shoulder harnesses in the cars. Probably not as scary as being thrown all around inside the old cars. 😂

Dieselpunk is similar to Steampunk except that it's set more in the 20s and 30s and instead of steam powered tech you have diesel powered. So things like Indiana Jones, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Metropolis, Flash Gordon... that sort of thing.
