After I video taped the show, I watched it and stored it away. The tape was stored in a box all this time and I came across it a few months ago while moving.
Chad Thompson Had this yellow covered beauty since day one ▶️ zero boys kicked ass 💣💥 im 52 now and still listening , toxic reasons "kill by remote control" is a favourite too with tufty kicking the bass out ! Skate to this ▶️▶️▶️
@@nomisvagabond139 toxic reasons live target video and a terminal boredom interview brought me to their killer cover of Toys In The Attic, which they left off the reissues. wow, smokin'. word is, Zero Boys still kill it live as of a few years ago.
@@DaveAnchovies I wish my friend that I could have seen zero boys live but I did see toxic reasons play Leeds UK for their kill by remote control LP 1980's 👳 . . One of the best shows I ever saw . .Thanks ▶️
The Pizza Castle sold alcohol, had live bands, and you could be under 21 (the legal drinking age) and 12 year olds could still see bands. So how were they able to do it??? Don, the owner of the Castle, who Tufty speaks to in this clip, read the small print on the law on "nightclubs" and found that it wasn't considered one as long as there wasn't any dancing, or had a dance floor.
wow, 26 years ago but still my heart skipped a few beats while I was watching this video.... You can hear it's been only two months after they recorded 'vicious circle' They sound just as tight as on the album. Funny how he smiles while singing 'drug free youth'. Zero boys straight edge? don't think so...
We are in the process of making the whole show look AND sound the best it can. This compilation clip took over 2 weeks to tweak, process and complile. Technology in 1981 was not like it is now. (at least in the general consumer world) We would like to get input from Paul, Mark & Tufty included as bonus material so fans of "the greatest US punk band" can have an ultimate DVD release that can go hand in hand with Vicious Circle and Livin' In The 80's. We hope for a late summer release.
The Zero Boys are from Indianapolis and have just started playing shows again (2009) and are still based out of Indy. Yes - we have a killer punk scene here - check the Melody Inn any Saturday night!
YES - Indianapolis has one of the most volatile punk scenes on the planet. Google punkrocknight and see our weekly punk show - almost 10 years in the running!
Saw these cats Saturday at Emo's. Tufty is still the "fastest fingers in the Midwest"!!. The Wax Museums gave them a run for their money though. Every band from Denton rules!
And @ rydder or whatever. Yeah Sid was brought in to complete a look as most of us know. But what cracks me up is the fact that he played the first show, maybe seccond as the drummer for souxsie and the banshees back when Robert Smith of the cure was their lead guitarist. Haha picturing Smith and vicious on the same stage always cracks me up.
So instead of building a stage and dance floor, when show time came, tables were moved and crunched together and the band set up against the wall. Go figure...Indiana law..and the "Dancing Police" did show up 3-4 times a month...and the law was changed in the mid 80's.
Cool that's what you've gotta do is change tempo and stuff. I'd have a band like this but they wouldn't back me up they'd throw me to the crowd. Check out Apache Ghost Blues
God, why did Terry have to die! I was in love with him 4 years & when we finally got together i left him & moved to NYC!!!!!! I miss you Terry Hollywood!!!!
Those songs are actually pretty good considering this was back in 1981. This is punk for sure...but can the crowd be anymore dead. I wouldnt be surprised if the lights came on to find that they were all cardboard cut-outs.
marky was a drummer, sid vicious barely knew how to play plus he was always way to doped up, paul is cool but just watch this guy play, and just listen to his bass lines.
watch the Sex Pistols live at Longhorn Texas and tell me they didnt deliver the goods live. People wanted to fight them and they delivered a great set, after Jones took his guitar off and was ready to oblige. Paul Cook was also a fantastic drummer.

Vicious Circle is one of the best American punk albums of all time...
Yeah -This is The Zero Boys...
