Infiniti G37 Coupe.. Valve Cover Gaskets / Z1 Ignition Coils / Spark Plugs / Fixing A Misfire

2009 Infiniti G37S Coupe
This vehicle came in today for an oil leak repair and a misfire issue. Upon scanning the codes, visual inspection and performing a power balance test I was able to confirm cylinder 3 ignition coil has gone bad causing the misfire. Because this car has a lot of performance modifications, tuned and has had a history of 2 other ignition coil failures we decided to upgrade them to the new Z1 coils.
Per Z1, these coils provide about 17% higher spark energy, they look great and a good price compared with OEM coils. After looking at them in person, they really look good! SIDE NOTE - If you are replacing coils, you ONLY want to use a OEM coil or better.
During the visual inspection, an oil leak was present on the driver side valve cover area, which was resolved with replacing the gasket. I replaced BOTH valve cover gaskets along with the tube seals and OEM spark plugs.
After cleaning all parts, putting everything back together, clearing the codes and reprogramming the idle this G37 is running like new.
