I do have a question about the slash guard vs the simmering basket, is there a reason the splash guard cannot be used in place of the simmering basket? The risotto looks perfect after it rested, sure beats standing and stirring. Thank you!
@@janicehall-thermomixconsultant Thank you for pointing out the differences, another consultant’s video said the splash guard could be used in place of the simmering basket when it was called for in a recipe. After seeing you use both it got me wondering.

The splash guard does not allow enough steam to escape. It is only to be used while using the high heat mode so hot oil cannot splash out.

I do sometimes put the varoma bowl on top instead of the simmering basket.
